The store really does stand out on Albion Street but for good reasons, the modern glass store and it is quite vibrant especially compared to the poorly maintained old building (possibly Grade listing), which is home to Starbucks across the way. The "Food and drink" section has a decent selection, but it is pretty weird having small drinks fridge outside of the main, signposted section, and with it being split into 4 corners (a square of fridges), the selection was typical of Boots but again wasn't as broad as other larger branches, such as Manchester Market Street. Facilities in the store did seem pretty decent, including an Opticians and Chemist. Decent Boots store overall, pretty much average to what one would expect to serve a large city, it doesn't tend to go above and beyond compared to both other branches of Boots, similar rivals and my expectations, however. 3*

Being a slightly larger shop they have that much extra on offer, which can be handy if you were looking for a more specialist or wide range of beauty products and medicines. You've got all your standard pharmaceuticals on offer here, from painkillers, cough and flu medicines, beauty bits, make-up and so on. There is also the pharmacy to grab any prescription items that you may need, with fairly knowledgeable staff who are happy to give advice. I once needed a more educated opinion on a rash on my hand, which it turns out was a heat rash, but prior to my visit I thought it was eczema and so nearly bought a large vat of un-needed E45 cream! All in all, pretty handy place to have near by.

Services include residential and nursing home service, health promotion advice, ostomy supplies, free diabetes testing, free blood pressure testing, cholesterol and heart check, free medicines check-ups, prescription collection, express repeat prescription collection and free Chlamydia testing kits to take away from a basket near the door. The staff are friendly and helpful and it would seem this pharmacy serves the local residents very well.

I am pleased to be the bearer of good news to those new to the area of Oakwood and Roundhay - Oakwood pharmacy is near! Situated along the main strip of shops on Roundhay road, just before that awful junction and traffic lights section, it is easy to find and really handy. They sell a number of useful products, cold and flu medicines, shampoos, bath items, plasters, skin creams and all of the usual items that you would expect to find in a pharmacy. The staff also seem pretty helpful. We've all got those niggling questions that aren't quite big enough to warrant a doctor's appointment, so in this event, just nip in and ask - that's what they're there for! Another handy shop in the heart of Oakwood!

For such a small place they have an impressive amount, from make-up to protein shakes, splints and slings to all you need for the colds and flu viruses that tend to make their rounds this time of year.

I think it was from practically doing the splits one day on the ice, which caused me to seriously pull/bruise the muscle. Anyway, having done this I now seem incapable of walking for longer than an hour without really needing to sit down! I feel like an eighty year old. So I was walking about Crossgates, and the pain began to flair up. So, I decided to nip into the pharmacy and ask for some advice. I made my way to the counter and asked the lady's opinion on painkillers. I think she noted the obvious distress and so advised me to purchase the higher strength ibuprofen, but not before sternly telling me to see a doctor *and* practically making me promise not to take one of the painkillers until I'd had something to eat! It was really really sweet, and I really appreciated it. She also advised that I could only take 3 a day, one every four hours, so there was no way I could take the incorrect dosage unless I was a total plank. As far as the pharmacy goes, they had plenty of useful medicines and products on offer, despite being a bit of a dinky store. There are seats to sit and wait for your prescription, which were looking rather tempting to me at this point, and the other staff also seemed to be friendly! For the kind advice and great service, I was really pleased. Happy customer!
