He can also review the purchase contact and other documents (like condo docs) separately (for a fee) if he is not your closing attorney. If you are buying a place I don' t know why you wouldn't have the same lawyer do both, but I wanted to add it in just in case. I have used Mike twice for condo purchases. He reviewed all of my paperwork (condo docs, P&S, etc) as well as did the closings. He was very thorough with all of the documents and he made sure we got everything done on time. I always felt very comfortable with his recommendations as you can just tell he knows what he is doing, as he has been doing this for a long time. One thing that really impressed me was on one of the closing documents (the HUD), it listed his fee at a certain amount, which was an estimate by the lending bank. He took a look and said "no, my fee's not that high" and lowered it to what his fee was. I would have happily paid that higher amount and I wouldn't have known any better. He's an honest guy. It makes a difference. So, if you're buying or selling a place, go give Mike a call and have him be your attorney!
