Had a great experience getting my headshot done with Kevin!…read more He was quick in responding when I inquired about getting a professional headshot for work. After my initial call, he had sent a form to get my appointment booked for the next weekday. I arrived about 15-20 minutes earlier than my expected appointment and never brought it up, nor did he make me wait. He also offered to wear a mask if I felt more comfortable and offered me a bottled water. I never felt rushed, and he made it clear he could take as many photos as I'd like until I was satisfied. Highly recommend.

I just returned from Kevin's "Fall Photography Fundamentals Workshop" and it is the best class I…read morehave ever taken, and I have taken a lot. He was so prepared to the point he provided the class with binders that included all of the information he was showing on the screen. All we had to do was make a few notes if we wanted which allowed us to pay attention to what he was showing and saying. He is extremely patient and goes out of his way to be sure every student understands what he is saying. I don't care how long you've been photographing, I'm pretty sure you'll learn something new. If you're a beginner this is definitely the class to be in. I cannot recommend his classes enough. They are not overpriced and you get a lot of bang for your buck.

I'm a published Austin model and I have been modeling for 3+ years. That being said, I've seen the…read moregorgeous work that Anthony has done for other models in the industry, and I've been secretly dying to work with him. We were finally able to schedule a test shoot this past Saturday. Anthony definitely lived up to his name, let me tell you. All before the shoot, Anthony was professional and highly communicative and we got along almost instantly through the phone. He brought along an assistant who was very kind and helpful- Christina. Something that I noticed that Anthony did was game plan the shoot- which I appreciated. I've shot with many photographers where no one communicates a game plan of what we will shoot or where for the shot, and I hate this because it wastes a lot of time and energy. Anthony had a plan and knew what we both wanted. Another key trait that I loved about Anthony was his explanation of the shot before I posed- it really helped get me in the zone of what the picture needed to look like. I also liked his tips on posing and his explanations on why that pose. He also provided other tips (ways to hide your veins in your arms even). He's also the first photographer that actually filmed a BTS video as opposed to me doing it or getting my husband to help me do it. This added to Anthony's professionalism and value. All in all, our shoot wasn't hours long and didn't need to be. I received my pictures extremely quick and the best part was that they didn't need any editing. Often times I see a photographer's style to really over edit their photos- but these came straight out of the camera and are extremely professional and beautiful. My husband saw them and said, "Now this is who you should be shooting with!" Anthony finally captured some of the looks that I wanted my portfolio to have that I couldn't quite capture with other photographers so far. That said, I'm hoping to shoot with him again and I can't wait to see what magic we create. If you are looking to get photos done for an event, for you, or whatever it may be- Anthony Johnson is your guy and will capture that moment that's in your head. :) Thanks again Anthony.

He was very helpful and reached out to me before the wedding to get a feel for my vision for the photos. I wish I would have researched shots that I wanted more in advance to the wedding to ensure all of the ones I wanted were taken, in the moment it is easy to become overwhelmed and forget. There was maybe only 2 or 3 poses I would have included and we had over 600 to pick from so we have plenty of choices. DW was kind and fun during the wedding. His use of light in the photos were genius and turned out beautiful in the photos. I ordered several photo books from DW and they were wonderful. He even included hand written holiday cards for the people I was gifting them to. That was such a thoughtful and special detail! I definitely recommend using DW for a wedding photographer. We truly cherish all of the lovely photos and the memories from that day. In hindsight, I would have added more time because 2 hours were not enough to include pictures of the dances and some other important moments of us and our guests.

He knew all the important posed shots to get, and moved through taking them quickly and painlessly so we could get to the reception and start having fun as soon as possible! Even when we took a little pause from the reception to grab some sunset shots of just the two of us, he was ready with a handful of fun poses to capture what I'm sure will be some amazing shots! Again, he got us through these shots quickly so we could get back in and enjoy our reception. Steve was the main photographer for a large social event-doing the main, prepaid portraits of…read moreapproximately 20 college students, and close to 100 young students aged 4-14. Also he was responsible for shots of each and every event leading up to the main "social". Almost 99% of the families involved had members photographed in past years so we knew what to expect. For myself, this was our 4th trip to the rodeo, in addition my third involvement with the older group. Pro:Steve is very nice, interested in pleasing everyone and knows his craft. Cons: kept saying he "always photographed X" and therefore he automatically knew what we expected. Results: for my individual shot, Steve took over 20 shots of my son (age 12) but only after 10 did *I* realize his shirt and bow tie were crooked, had to fix, and those were included in my choices. Previous photographers had made sure my daughter/son were perfect and those weren't counted as options. We were required to choose a particular pose for the program, and that limited things further. Upon finding an acceptable one, but requesting it be cropped so my son's head would be centered in the shot (both vertically and horizontally), that was done. However, my handsome son was now photoshopped to have perfect skin with a model finish and bright blue eyes (they are lt blue grey), rosy cheeks and kissable lips. ???? Remember I said I also assisted with the college students photographs. These are of young ladies in white gowns, and the best backgrounds are classic. Photography inside a classic hotel, house, or the Capitol is very possible (and has been done for decades) but requires someone who looks at everything. Mothers complained about chandeliers growing out of heads and plants growing out of sides. Now, once Steve was faced with those who openly pointed out each of these issues he worked hard to accommodate many changes--he just didn't see the overall picture from the beginning, and seemed to have some challenges setting up classical settings as choices. Sometimes the background limits your options, but I was at this same house for two sessions and after the second mother pointed out issues the three of us (Steve, mother and I) found much better options. Setup shots and group shots of at least one special group event included shots where people had to finally tell him to go away. He didn't seem to realize what shots weren't needed at all (someone not yet in makeup and in rollers!!) For a wedding that might be fine because only family sees those shots but for us everyone in the very large group sees everything :) The worst was: when presented with an issue: "I'll just send it overseas to photoshop it out". The price paid for a premium photographer for an entire event is to get the know-how to prevent things like this. Or the skill set to Photoshop it *yourself* and tweak things very carefully. Yes the industry trend (and trend for everything ) is to send it overseas. However, we "bought and paid for" the skill set to do it yourself, or at least tweak the really important things so that *must*be kept in mind. If that had been done, maybe my son wouldn't look like he was ready for pre-teen magazine. Overall:maybe a good photographer for cookie cutter shots, or when one family works with him like a wedding, but definitely not recommended for "mixed groups".
