Specialties
We prepare individual and business income tax returns. Bruce has been doing tax work since 1970, and Jeneil since the early 2000's. We no longer do any accounting work, but we do a little bookkeeping work for clients.
We enjoy working on "smaller" clients, and on "mom and pop" businesses, as we refer to them. Many CPAs want to work on "big" clients. We have always tried not to work on "big" clients, because the small clients need help, too, and that is where we have always "fit in," and we provide them with quality service, done in a friendly environment. We are selective on taking on new clients. IF you have oil and gas partnerships, we will not take you as a client.
History
Established in 1979.
I have been a Certified Public Accountant since 1970. I worked as an employee for two "local" CPA firms in La Verne and Upland (so. California) thru 1977, and in "private" businesses for 1 1/2 years. In July 1979, I "opened" my own practice in Upland, California. I moved to South Lake Tahoe, California on New Year's Eve of 1991. My office began in Round Hill, Nevada, and I moved to my Kingsbury address in Stateline, Nevada in the mid 1990s.
Meet the Business Owner: Bruce C.
I have always excelled at arithmetic since I was about 4 or 5 years old. I used to help my dad (a farmer in Indiana) with his bookkeeping since about 5 years old. I took a bookkeeping class my senior year in high school (along with a shorthand class!), and it was in that class that I first learned about CPAs. I "knew" at that moment that I wanted to become a CPA. I went to Manchester College in northern Indiana, and graduated in 1968 with a B.A. degree in Accounting and Economics (as I recall). I had a chance to work with a "Big 8" accounting firm. But I did NOT like having to wear a suit and tie, an overcoat and a hat! I have always preferred working for a "small, local firm" as opposed to the "big firms."
