I've taken Quickbooks classes before, but I didn't really learn much. I learn more from hands-on experience. My mom has gone through a couple one-on-one sessions with a bookkeeper from this place before. My step dad has numerous senior home care in Reno, and he introduced Kelly to my mom after she started her own business. Since then, she's talked highly of Kelly regarding how accommodating and skillful she was. So she went ahead and set us an appointment. I asked Kelly countless of questions that I had, that the classes did not clarify. I learned so much... where to input certain receipts, efficient strategies, reconciliation reports, etc. I came out of that office confident as ever to take on my mom's bank statements. Due to the session being the third one, Kelly offered me her contact info for free help whenever I need it. Overall, great place for book keeping and tax services in Carson City. I love my business but I hate the boring parts. Becky has taken most of that burden away. I'm bad at keeping track of receipts. I forget to check that accuracy of our time clock. I mistakenly use my Amazon business account for personal purchases. Becky gently reminds me, never nagging, and fixes the mistakes. She immediately contacts me if there's anything unusual and quietly processes the regular items. She also respects my values. She worked with our mortgage holder for a 3 month and then another 3 month reprieve on our payment. Without her efforts, my business of 21 years would have folded. So here I am on tax day filing an extension for myself on an ancient laptop which causes problems communicating with my printer. My money manager knew this. I pleaded for help. He sent me a link to Turbo Tax when my pain level is at a 10 and I'm in a torso brace before surgery. Not helpful. The complete lack of follow-through and communication has been incredibly disappointing, and I am now seeking a different CPA. I do not recommend this firm.

That is considered the gold standard in accounting. Even with Forbush's significantly above market fee, I was comfortable. However, my work was delegated to an overworked newby, whom I suspect was not even a CPA. When I received an unexpected and unexplained refund check from the IRS, I brought it to his attention. He didn't know what to do, so he did nothing. The result of this inaction was an eventual penalty by the IRS. I finally obtained Brent Forbush's personal intercision with the IRS, but it was to no avail, even though the mistake was really made by the IRS. I did not get what I paid for and I have now taken my business elsewhere. I do not recommend this firm for individual tax preparation.
