Bumper Pool & Pool. Good music list on juke box. Cheap drinks, excellent bar tenders.

We stopped here late night after many rounds and not enough "real" food at Play arcade. Reviewing the receipt jogged my memory. Getting old(er) is no joke! The interior is very cool! It has a great vibe! The staff is friendly, and we were seated right away. We skipped drinks and went right to the food. We had fries, tuna nachos and deviled eggs. All of the food was reasonably priced and it really hit the spot. This was a quick visit that was absolutely worthwhile! If I'm back in New Bedford, I will definitely return here to explore the menu a little further.

I was the first customer of the night and sat at the bar. I received a friendly greeting from the bartender and a beautiful Manhattan to start things off. The steak frites dish was tasty but I did order it medium rare - it came out medium well. The truffle fries were very tasty! I had to interupt conversations between employees a couple of times to ask for things and to engage in conversation but for the most part, attentive service although I was never asked how my meal was. It is a fun space that offers both an old time feeling and a fun, artsy vibe, too. I recommend checking it out!

As a go to, you can't go wrong with the Reuben. I had to look under the buttery marble rye to convince myself that there wasn't bacon on it, but dang it's the so smoky and crisp pastrami that will fool you too. Honestly, tonight I ventured off the Reuben for the first time, BUT word was, from the local next to me munching on the Cubano that he calls da' bomb, he told me the cheesesteak is right in line with the rest of the offerings. Verdict: I don't know if the chef is a beer drinker but he plates a beer drinkers meal. First bite of the cheesesteak was a little bready, and I started thinking I should have stuck with the staples. Second bite changed everything. I'm not going into the gooey, orgasmic details, it was just phenomenal. The star of the show was the bread. The same bread that caused me hesitation on the first bite. Incredible. I'm coming back for every sandwich on the menu, and you should too!

The whole place has that genuine hometown vibe that's getting harder to find, plus consistently great live music (Sundays especially). It's on the smaller side, but they somehow pack the place without sacrificing service, which says a lot. When the weather warms up, they open up a large alley next to the pub for live music--and that's where this place really shines. On a crisp fall day? Forget about it... that's exactly where I want to be. Good food, good people, good music--what more do you need? Enjoy the good times ahead.
