These guys are a sleek operation with many outlets around Melbourne. I looked online for dry cleaners near me and Brown Gouge appeared the best, and close to home. I dropped off three suits, a pair of pants and two overcoats in one hit and got it all back in perfect condition not long later for somewhere around $80. Great value and pleasant service. The 'owner' Shirley (Xiao Lu Zhou) who also owns the Keilor Downs store lost a suit trouser and has been most difficult to deal with. While her lack of fluency in English may be part of the problem, the tone of her email correspondence and attitude are a reflection of an extremely poor and dismissive attitude to customers. I am still waiting for compensation, which Brown Gouge claims requires original receipts to be provided. I have provided receipts for a replacement trouser, which apparently is insufficient proof! - even though it was the same store where the suit was earlier purchased and the retailer has provided verification. Brown Gouge franchises are probably in the same class of Seven Eleven, where immigrants are exploited and consequently reflects their service standards and policies. I have been patient enough with neglecte of property and quality control from BrownGouge Drycleaners on Mt Alexandra Road Essendon. Not only lost items and dirty items returned, now I find blood on my sheets and only discovered when changing my bed linen. I work interstate so don't have time for the mundane chores so I rely on this kind of service, no more. I've complained for lost items, dirty sheets, obviously draped and in contacte with the dirty floor. And now I have found blood on my sheets from someone who has cut themselves. This place is terrible, the worst customer service imaginable. My clothes were not ready and i had an important function, so i had to go out and buy new clothes. No apology, they blamed me for their incompetent staff and service. Do yourself a favour, go somewhere else. read more

I have had a bad experience there , a few actually, i got curtains dry cleaned and repaired, we paid for them and picked them up all folded then took them to hand and found they were not repaired and were completely ripped to shreds , the owner is rude and hung up on me when i asked for an explanation as the ticket did not even state the damage curtains, now they keep postponing dates to have this resolved through small claims and lying that they r travelling, i am pursuing them on principle as i got advise from other Brown gauge that the curtains look like they were washed and not dry cleaned as we were quoted and paid for. If it is not resolved, we will take this to current affair to resolve and expose this business for bad service. read more
