They sent someone out to do a site visit and I explain what I was looking for and where I thought the well could go and I was looking to do before the ground thaws in the spring. He did not offer much for information put left and said they would send a quote in a couple of days. After a couple of weeks and couple of phone calls they stated in a phone call that they did not have the resources in the spring to do the job and were declining to quote. I told her that I was not in a hurry and could have it done whenever they were more freed up. She called back and said they would like to do another site visit and we schedule for Friday for the second site visit. Nobody came Friday and no phone to reschedule. Rodney from Keller called me the following Thursday and came out and showed him where I was looking to put the well and he told me it would be difficult to get the trucks there and suggested a place in front of the house about 50 feet from the street that would work better and that I could cover the well cap with some sort of landscape decoration. Also the trench to the house from the well would now be 5 feet instead of 65 feet and dig site would now be away from most of the utilities compared to the original place requested to come into the house. This would also save on money. I liked his plan and Rodney was very helpful and informative compared to the first person. He also recommended to do the well digging now in January since the ground was frozen and I agreed. Rodney said he could have the estimate to me in 3 days. He suggest that I call misdig to get location of water and sewer line to know the exact area in the front to drill the well. I requested misdig services and they were out the next day on Friday and marked the utilities. I then received and email on Friday from Keller stating "After our second site visit to look over your irrigation well estimate request, we determined we must decline offering you an estimate for this project. We do not have the resources to take on a project of this magnitude." This is a 50ft well with a 5 foot trench to house in a much easier accessible area and they indicate a "large magnitude project". That makes no sense if they no longer drill wells but only repair wells they should change their name to Keller Well Repair. They wasted my time and the city's time and overall if feel that they are very unprofessional. The project being too large in magnitude is complete made up and I know it and they know it. Rodney did tell me that a lot of well digging companies no longer do residential irrigation wells and I thought it was an odd comment at the time, so I suspect they only want to do the larger commercial jobs that they make more money from and would not state that in the first place to save face. Would not recommend this company.

After reviewing both…read moreGoogle and Yelp reviews for well contractors in the area we settled on Wyckoff Well Drilling based on all the positive reviews where Google is a 5 star average! I called the business at 7:30 am, a time that most businesses of this nature were closed and was surprised to reach a human voice on the other end end. Seeing that we were literally out of water and in a lurch the owner, Robert, was able to juggle his full schedule and was get to our house less than an hour after contacting him. Upon arrival Robert was able to quickly diagnose our issue as a failed pressure switch and had parts on hand to effect the repair all within an hours timeframe. The service call with labor and parts came to $140 which was very very reasonable in my mind. I truly expected it to be much more due to all the price gouging I have seen in this area in the past and definately did not expect to be up and running again within 2 hours of my original call. Nice! Throughout the process Robert and his grandson Trevor were super friendly and explained what was going on throughout the process showing great patience with my questions as he went about the business of the repair. During the repair process he identified that the pressure switch had failed as a result of my 35 year old pressure tank being near end of useful life where the bladder was clearly starting to fail. He explained to me that we could get a few more years out of my old tank but the tradeoff was that my well pump which is also 35 years old was getting cycled way more than it should which could lead to a an earlier failure of that key component which would be a much more expensive repair on the order of $3500. At no point did he pressure me to replace the pressure tank but instead provided key data/information I needed to make an informed decision all the while stating I could push this tank replacement off maybe a couple more years. Being a retired engineer I appreciated both his honesty and candor where he presented the facts/data which is the way all contractors should act and most dont and let me make up my own mind where I decided to proceed with the replacement of the pressure tank in order to extend the life of my old more expensive well pump which he did two days later. No over the top pressure tactics here and the usual scare tactics that contractors like use. Again nice! Overall I was completely satisfied with the work he did on my well system and how he handled his business. Reasonable cost, first class work and a friendly demeanor are hard to beat in my book and I will definately contacting him for any well issues I have in the future. Five stars in my book.

He went above and beyond to help us fix the problem even though it was bigger than we originally thought. The price was reasonable too. I highly recommend these guys!
