BCT route 1
Robert S.

I have taken the BCT buses many times, mostly to go to the airport from my condo and usually that has been a non eventful experience. They have an app for the smart phones where you can look at schedules, stops, location and more....that app is the one that will also hold your mobile bus passes, that you can scan as you board the bus. What I don't like is that the BCT buses barely give you any transfer time. Once you scan a bus pass, you have like 10 minutes then the bus pass expires. In other cities, the transfers between buses on the same direction (like southbound or northbound, for example) are free or they initial pass lasts for an hour, so you can timely take another bus to your final destination. The ride is $2 per bus but they also have some special pricing available. All Day Pass $5.00 Regular $4.00 Senior, Youth, Disabled/Medicare 10 Ride Pass $20.00 7 Day Pass $20.00 31 Day Pass $70.00 31 Day Reduced Fare Pass $40.00 Senior, Youth, Disabled/Medicare College Student Pass $50.00 Express Premium 10-Ride Pass $26.50 Express Premium 31-Day Pass $95.00 Several times, I have been watching a bus location on their app and then suddenly the bus does not appear on the app anymore...it's a really finicky app. I use an app called "Transit" which tracks not only BCT buses, but public transportation worldwide and it is a bit more reliable. Their on-time performance is not great either, several times the bus comes early or late to the corresponding stop, so that makes you needing to be at the stop about 10 minutes plus or minus, just to be on the safe side. Anyway, from the Galt mile to the airport is a $4 ride and I transfer from route 11 to route 1 in downtown Fort Lauderdale. When it's on time, it's a very easy way to get to the airport.

Live cockroaches on board. In addition, the buses are not a reliable form of transportatio.

The transit employee in the pink shirt decided to spray cheap perfume all over in the front of the closed bus, causing me pain from asthma.

Stop hiring unqualified people simply because you need to keep the rotation going. So many of the people working as bus drivers are from countries with extremely low base IQ scores and it shows in their interactions with others. They have a definite chip on their shoulders and they make that seething hate known. It happens to be a fact, that people with lower than average IQs can become easily angered when they don't understand something and quick to lash out as apposed to more reasonable intelligence individuals. They are also quick to lash judgement in an effort to disguise their own shortcomings as well as socially unacceptable practices such as degrading remarks to others to make themselves appear falsey superior in their own minds.

Proof they take forever

Worst public transit available. Their drivers don't know how to be on time. I haven't had a single bus that wasn't less than 30 minutes late. It's makes it almost impossible to hold a job and rely on them for transportation. Drivers are wonderful but their ability to maintain a proper schedule is just absolutely atrocious. Do not use this transit system unless you don't have any other choice. Hitch hiking would still get you home faster

This bus driver for bus number 20117 at 11:39 AM on Thursday May 5th is the rudest SOB I ever met. Me not from the area and just left my car at the shop with my wallet and credit card or I would be on Briteline. Since briteline does not take cash I walked around the corner to grab the bus to Miami from Ft Lauderdale. Do you think when I knocked on the door of the bus this lady would have opened the door... no instead she starts shaking her head No No No!!! As eanyed to inquire i was getting on the right bus. My question went unanswered until she opened the door several minutes later. When the door opened I asked her if she could confirm this bus was going to Aventura to connect with the Downtiwn Miami bus. Her reply was did you read the sign, so I asked again she said what does the sign on the front of the bus say? I went and looked it did not say Aventura... so I asked her again she refused to answer the question even after I replied I am not from here and response was looking away from me and out the window, telling me she wouldn't answer my question. I had to ask another passenger and she confirmed I was on the right bus... A simple yes from the driver would have been sufficient. This lady is a customer service pig and should be fired or demoted to rotating the tires on busses not driving them. It is sad that there are people in this world that just don't give a @#*^ about anyone they are here to serve no of course not. Well get out of customer service you crack head. Shame on you ft Lauderdale for encouraging and employing this type of little piggy in such and international tourist destination that connects with other South Florida destinations !!! Truly sad....

No food was provided this time. That should have been mentioned on the website because there were people in my group that were relying on the appetizers. Instead they bought food at Tokyo Blue and were pleased with it. Busses were running every few minutes so pickup was quick. Later in the evening the busses were very full and we had to wait for two busses to go by before getting on one at Tropic Cay. We skipped Sopranos at Beach Place because it has really gone downhill there. We went back to Bokampers and had more food. Overall, the loop was very efficient and the staff is friendly. I would definitely do this again. Even better----the proceeds go to charity!

Every place is so different from the last and they all have very decent drinks given they're free! I believe it was Lucky's that even had champagne as an option. The busses are a lot of fun as long as you get on with the drunken group of people falling all over the place, it's so much fun to watch them all. We found some pretty cool spots that any other time we really wouldn't walk into. The only stop that was a letdown was Fork and Balls- which looks awesome inside and smells of amazement as well, but the bartender claimed to have "Ran out of liquor" at 9pm on a Saturday night- so apparently they were pretty bitter and unwilling to stick to their agreement with the Bus Loop. Minus crappy service from the one place, I would definitely do this again and again. It's a fun night out for a great deal.

You could start at one of the many spots in Downtown than it goes up Hollywood Blvd. heading east to the beach. Now depending on weather you chose a North or Southbound depends on where you go next. We were on a Southbound so it drove up A1A as far as the Diplomat than heads Northbound up A1A. We were dropped off at Margaritaville. After it drops us off it continues North to Sheridan and A1A. It loops around Hollywood North Beach Park. This is the lowest priced transportation to get you to the beach for only $1. Per person. The parking is very limited and is way more cost effective than parking which could run as high as $4. an hour. Now you can also take the Broward County bus but that is $2 Per person. One evening several weeks ago we were out later than the last Trolley that leaves Margaritaville 10:30 PM. so we took Uber home. That was a little under$6. for the two of us for door to door service.

The app is horrible! They really need to get it right or pass it along to someone who can. Don't use it if you have to be anywhere on time. The only plus, most of the drivers are awesome!
