I ride the BCT sometimes. I love public transportation and I love contributing to less pollution and less traffic. There is a HUGE PROBLEM with the 106 Express bus line. This bus is NEVER on time (compared to the 108 bus line), and the main issue is that it departs late from its starting point, so it's no surprise it arrives late as well. NO SHOW UPs are also VERY COMMON. We need more reliable drivers and SUPERVISORS at Miramar Regional Park and Culmer. This level of service is UNACCEPTABLE. I'm reporting an unruly and irrational passenger who, in having a nasty deposition, cursed out the driver for waiting on him to figure it out himself ( after advising him) how to position his bicycle on the transpo racks in front of the bus. Absurdly unreliable. Common scenario 1: You get to the stop 10 minutes early. You look at the real time app- it says the bus is 8 minutes away. You wait. 8 minutes later, no bus. You look back at the real time app and it says the bus is now 36 minutes away. Common scenario 2: You're walking to the bus. You're early, about 10 minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. You're roughly a block away from the stop when suddenly your bus blazes right past you, leaving you scrambling like the roadrunner from a Looney Tunes cartoon. If there's somebody already waiting at the stop, maybe you can catch it and climb aboard wheezing for air and sweating like a maniac. If nobody is at the stop, it continues down the street and you stand there shaking your fist and cursing loudly at it. These two scenarios happen literally...LITERALLY almost half of the time. And I paid $70 for a monthly pass, which might as well have been a donation to the company since I wind up having to pay an Uber to get me to work on time. This bus service is, to put it politely, a steaming pile of hot garbage on a typical humid August day in Fort Lauderdale. Even 1star is too generous. I caughtthe 62 bus for a whole week and not once was it one time. In fact 3 days out of the business the bus NEVER EVEN CAME and we had to wait for the bus that came after. Meanwhile across the street we saw the 62 pass by 4 times. The BCT 11 bus NEVER shows up, constantly waiting 1 hour+ for a 30 minute route, impossible to use this service regularly for employment, too unreliable The app is worthless too. It tracks buses that never show up and just disappear off the map when close. They just lie to riders. 11/19/16 -- I believe that the bus system has improved since 2012 with the inclusion of more busses, routes, and the real-time bus system. As a whole, the Broward County Transit bus service is good when you compare it to other such systems in Florida. For most major routes there is a bus every 20 or 30 minutes. So, with planning you can get to where you need to go throughout the county in an hour or less. However, the Broward County Transit system as a whole suffers from a lack of customer service orientation. I am very concerned that they will pull a bus off of a scheduled route. If a bus has very few riders, they have asked those riders to disembark when they pull into a transit center, and have them wait to take the next bus. This has happened to me twice. There have been times when the bus was so packed with people that even the elderly have had to stand up. The bus drivers do not enforce the rules that no radios be played on the bus, so other people's music is often playing in the back of the bus. I am a believe of using public transit so this will not dissuade me. The bus system works with Google to provide bus directions online. I will just have to be more self-reliant, rely on using Google to find directions to destinations. read more

Just moved to South Fl and went on my first round trip ride on BCT bus 4, and everything was on time. Both busses 0705 and 0719 have seen better days but got the job done! The drivers were friendly and answered all my questions being a first time rider. The only complaint that I have is the APP dose not work, it's just useless! read more

I come out of my home early as can be to catch the 10 bus heading north. Arrival time is listed as 6:09am I'm outside at 6:05 only to have to wait for the later bus around 6:25 6:30 am. You guys are never on time I'm losing sleep to catch an earlier bus and they do not show. Obviously they flew by around 6:00 am not driving on schedule. On the other hand the later bus I do catch your driver makes me miss the 34 bus. There is little no one to pick up on the way to sample and federal and he proceeds to drive 20mph to get there it's unsafe and ridiculously slow. I spend 70 dollars to get my 31 day bus pass only to get to work late most days because of the insufficient times BCT decides to show up. Well I decided to spend my money on public transportation instead of taking the cab, we all know how pricey that can be for a 15/20 minute ride, so it did cost me $1.75 and 2 hours of my time but it was cheaper than a cab. I caught the first bus from the airport, I asked the bus before it questions on how to get to my destination- what a rude ass b.tch she was but whatever, I got on my bus when it came 7 minutes later. So I'm on route 1, I talk to the driver about getting to my destination he tells me where he will drop me off at, but 3 different times he asked what my destination address was, I showed him and even showed him the map with the GPS. He acted like he was sure but asking me that many times made me nervous. So the last time he asked he tells me to get out the stop after the terminal and to walk back to the terminal and catch the route 4, I had to do a lot of walking, but hey I made it whatever. read more

I almost got hit by a bus at 8:27 pm tonight! It ran a red light at Lyons Rd and Winston Park Blvd, speeding south down Lyons Rd. I was so shocked when it went whizzing by me when I was turning on my green arrow! This is dangerous and if I had turned 2 seconds earlier I would have been hit broadside on my drivers side!!! Time's have changed. I remember 10 years ago when the BCT fare was .75 for me, but damn, the privileges you get for being young... or even old, for that matter. The most legendary route on the BCT is -- without a shadow of a doubt -- the #1 route. The #1 runs from Fort Lauderdale airport to the Aventura Mall (which you can then hop off and get onto Miami-Dade transit, which you can then head over to South Beach to see naked people). The price hike is somewhat discouraging, but don't let it stop you from getting from point a to point b. In fact, as a warning, some locals have this fetish by telling people from out of the state that the public transportation in south Florida is somewhat horrendous, but this not true; in fact, it's never true. Besides a day pass, there's the 7-day week pass which is $16; the 31-Adult pass for $58; 10-ride bus pass for $16. read more

I used their service for the first time last week. This is indeed a fairly limited transit system but it was perfect for my personal needs. I am sure that many people will not think like me, but in my case I was in no rush to get anywhere and I just wanted to try the service. PROS: Day Pass is only $4 and they are sold in the buses. Bus #1 takes you directly from the Ft Lauderdale airport to the station downtown (the southbound bus takes you from the airport to Aventura Mall, to connect with the Miami-Dade transit). People in the bus were nice (a passenger offered a system map to a couple of tourists that were trying to figure out their way; a driver gave me a system map and someone pointed me to the information booth in the main station). Bus #22 westbound takes you to the Sawgrass Mills mall, a major mall in West Broward County. It was very convenient for a shopping trip. Buses #11 and #40 take you to the Fort Lauderdale beach. It's very nice to be able to go to the beach without having to drive! CONS: Buses only take cash and people have to slide their dollar bills one by one into the pay slot and you can see them struggling to push the bills while the bus is already going. I did not have change so I had to pay $5 for my day pass. Day passes can only be used the same day they are issued. So you can't buy them in advance (I wanted to buy two day passes, one for future use, as I had a $5 and three $1 bills). Some passengers on the beach routes may be a little rowdy. I guess that's to be expected when you're going to a young fun loving beach but at the same time I was not expecting to hear foul words inside the bus. Next time I think I'll try the connection to Miami-Dade transit. read more
