I absolutely loved this place. To begin with, I had a £30 steak, without any sides, and I don't…read moreregret that at all (and I am not a spendy diner.) It was delicious and had a delicious peppercorn sauce. The staff was extremely pleasant, and seemed not to mind that we came in late and ended up being the last table by a good bit of time. The owner came over and chatted with me and my family about where we were all from, told us about Sardinia, and seemed like more of a host than the average restauranteur at the end of a night. If I had the money, and I were in Woodstock more, I would spend a lot of time here. It is a fine dining experience without the snobbery, a locally sourced menu for many of the options, and a culinary gem in a quiet setting.

She tried to take our order because he was taking too long and he barked at her that it was his job to do that and stopped her from taking the food order. He continued to be unpleasant throughout our meal. We were there for lunch today around 1.30 to 3pm . I hope the owner of the restaurant takes note of this review and speaks to this waiter about his arrogant, rude, disrespectful and unprofessional attitude. The young woman who did try to take our order was lovely and very professional even after he barked at her. Hope you take note young man and either change your attitude or get a non customer facing job.

This is a great place to enjoy some good Italian after exploring Oxford all day. We went during the…read moreholidays and I have to say they did a great job with decorating and giving it a very holiday, welcoming vibe. The staff were friendly and attentive (but not overly so because they did let us chill out and talk for a bit after our meal). For food, I really enjoyed the mushroom risotto- it does have a pretty heavy mushroom taste so if you like mushrooms you'll love it. I found adding chicken cut the taste a little; I'm not sure if I'd have liked it as much if I didn't add the protein. My friend ordered the crab fettuccine...it was okayyyy. Wasn't enough crab for me personally and wish there'd been more bisque to make it a smidge more creamy. The bruschetta was a nice appetizer but was only two slices so wouldn't recommend for more than 2 people. Side note: if you're looking for a good wine, the Chianti was delicious and complimented the meal well. We were able to walk in with no reservations for 2 people but any group larger than that, you need to be prepared to wait or make your reservation ahead of time. There were a couple groups of 4 people in front of us and they quoted them a 2 hour wait because of the amount of reservations they had. Could have been just because of the holiday time.

We were given a table for an hour, which was plenty of time. My boyfriend, who wasn't that hungry, ordered the beef tortellini small plate, and I got the lasagne. Both were satisfying and seasoned well. The best part of the experience was probably the ambience, particularly since it was the holiday season. The interior was cozy, well lit, and had an intimate feel, which makes the restaurant a popular place for Christmas parties.

Thank you, Europe, for lovin' the kids. They readily accommodated her creamy tomato sauce spaghetti request (wasn't on the menu). I wasn't super impressed with the pastas or pizzas, but the salads damn near broke my mauf. Fresh and simple, and quite honestly BANGIN'. Italians make the best salads. Don't you ever forget it. I enjoyed a slice of tiramisu for dessert and let me tell you, someone stole grandma's recipe. It was packed with espresso, cocoa, creamy whipped cream, just all things EPIC to put it simply. I'd recommend dropping in for vino, the salads, and tiramisu or the chocolate cake, which my husband enjoyed.

We got (forgot the actual names) - garlic cheese bread: gooey stringy cheese on top the softest chewiest bread! - baked penne: my hubby said it was amazing - spicy mushroom spaghetti in cream sauce: never had spaghetti that tasted like this before! Sauce was made fresh with chili peppers in it. Creamy with lots of flavors. So yummy! Service was warm and friendly. We were hosted like friends. Decor was nice: traditional and humble. The coloring and decor basically says: you are here for some delicious hearty and traditional food our family has to share with you in our most sincerest way!

We ate here today for the fist time. the atmosphere is nice,…read moremusic was a bit loud but the waiter was really friendly and we got to pick our own table (it was 1210 when we went in they just opened so there werent that many people). the menu is pretty large, big variety of food to pick from. we ordered "bruschetta tradizionale" as a starter. they brought two freshly toasted pieces of thick cut bread with freshly chopped tomatoes, garlic and basil. as a first course we both got pasta. "penne al salmone', penne pasta with a creamy sauce and chopped salmon with some parsley sprinkled on top. "penne amatriciana", penne pasta with thick cut bacon, tomato sauce and some parsley sprinkled on the edges of the plate. Both really good, i liked the fact that the bacon was a thick cut and tasted amazing by itself, with the sauce and with sauce and pasta. everything well combined. as soon as we set down we thought it was a bit expensive but the amount of pasta in our plates was pretty generous: we sure didnt leave the restaurant hungry. I am 100% Italian, (not fake-jersey-shore kind of Italian) I found the food really good and the ingredients were fresh. the owners are actually Italian as well, from Naples if I am not mistaking. Id recommend this place to anybody whos looking for a good and nice Italian restaurant in the area. Go in hungry and eat as much as you can!! :)
