Have you been to Green Light yet? It's in a small, unassuming strip mall (slightly overshadowed by…read morethe liquor store next door, but once you have been to Green Light, you won't even notice the neighbors any more, so intent are you on getting INSIDE!), with plenty of ample parking. Inside, you'll find new and used records, tapes, and cds. (I mean, of course!) The walls are covered with interesting new releases and rare recordings. The bins are a joy to peruse, especially the 45s. Larger musicians have their own tabs, otherwise it is alphabetical. You'll find much here that you'll love, but it will also be hard to stay on budget. Luckily, they have a frequent buyer card (in $5 increments). Our favorite part is digging through the 45s. It's a trip down memory lane, with laughter galore. I cannot believe the 80s fashion that ended up on record sleeves (I know, I wore it myself, but not in such a...memorable way). The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The music playing is especially interesting. And, although we haven't done it yet, they do purchase music from customers (hence the enormous selection of records for us to discover treasures within!). Previously, my favorite record store was Electric Fetus in Minneapolis. This has definitely replaced it, both for warmth and service. Go!

Came in because I'm always on the hunt to reestablish my movie collection for cheap. I used to have…read moreover 300 DVDs but sadly had to sell. Places like Green Light help me get on the right track to get my collection back to its original glory. How I Met Your Mother season one and two were a no brainers to grab. My husband grabbed 'Inglorious Bastards' and 'Ray'. As we were about to go to the counter an amazing B-movie looking DVD caught my eye. 'Frogs', my favorite animal has a movie starring Sam Elliot for $2.99? Yes please. The employee was pretty laid back but also helpful. We were greeted when we came in and asked us if we needed anything. When checking out he told us about their stamp program where get a stamp every $5 you spend and eventually get something. So glad we stopped and will be back to find more treasures.

I came to this bookstore a day before Winter break to purchase some Christmas souvenirs for my…read morefamily. Before purchasing I asked the sales man behind the register if I was allowed to return some of the items just in case they didn't fit. Kindly, he said I could return the items and even offered me a gift receipt. I spent my Christmas break in California. Unfortunately the Andrews University sweater that I purchased for my mother didn't fit and I planned to bring it back to this bookstore for a refund. I arrived back to the book store one week before the following semester began, only to find that the bookstore was closed during the entire holiday break. When the semester began I came in to finally return my purchase. I Brought back the sweater in the original bag I had purchased it in along with the receipt. When the manager looked at the receipt she rudely said I wasn't allowed to return the item. I explained that I had just purchased it before Christmas break as a gift, and she still wouldn't allow the refund because it had already exceeded the time for a refund. I also explained that the sales person I purchased from said I could return any gift items as long as I kept the receipt. She spoke to me as if I was lying because it was not their store policy. I clarified that the bookstore wasn't even open during the long semester break and when I had come to the bookstore a week prior to meet the refund deadline the store was still not opened. She allowed for me to have the refund but sharply added, "that is NOT the stores policy." I received my refund but I left feeling upset by the rude customer service that I had received. I'm not so much upset about her wanting to keep the store policy. I feel she should clarify the store policy to her workers, especially during holiday sessions. I understand that rules need to be followed. I'm more upset in the attitude and tone of voice that she used to handle the transaction. I expected better treatment from a Christian in a Christian university. The manager of this bookstore, Cindy Swanson, has no Christian etiquette. She is rude and has no respect for the students that pay thousands of dollars on university tuition and for books from this book store each year. I have no plans to make any future purchases in this store. I choose to buy all my texts books from Amazon. All Andrews University novelty items are highly priced anyway. The only Andrews University souvenir I need is my Masters Diploma.
