Communication is bad. Some have attitudes if you have concerns…read more Julie the Director is nice but hard to reach and get action . Rehabilitation is a joke they wait for the patients most in opportune time to do dont schedule a time and then cut them if the require extra TLC and use the excuse they are at there level and drop them. Some of the nurses and aids are nice and worked with my Mom .Millie ,Adam and Kristine nurses were great. Others don't want to be bothered and don't answer the phones when u call to check or let my mom yell for assistance. Then they put her in memory care unit she got a stage 2 bed sore lost 9 lbs in one week from being switched over blaming my mom . When they didn't keep up with the same feeding routine that kept her stable. Never told me about the bed sore. Plus she kept saying she was sick and they didn't notice and shrugged me off when I said something. I kept telling them she said she was sick for 2 weeks .Then Brandy finally ordered an Xray at my request after she then heard her diminished lungs and hacked phlegm for 15 min on the phone with me. Jeremy /Brandy said it was just a mild respiratory cold. And would give her antibiotics but I expressed my concern of it being pneumonia(which it was per Jewish) and said if she gets any worse to send her to Jewish. Then Jeremy called me the next morn and said she was dying and declining recommended I do DNR and let her go or he could call the ambulance and her o2 was 80 and she was turning blue. I recommended to give her straight o2 and turn it up as I was freaking out but he won't do that so I said to send her to Jewish Hospital 911. She had pneumonia, uti and low Thyroid. Per Jewish Hospital. These things could have been caught at the nursing home.. Jewish ER Dr. was not impressed with the nursing homes care . Loveland is supposed to be rated 5 for care. I will say they are better than Arbors of Milford but definitely still needs work.. gave them a 3 only for some of the good people. This could have been avoided.

I would advise anyone who is looking for a nursing home for someone with an Alzheimer's diagnosis…read moreto avoid placement as Loveland Health Care in Loveland, Ohio. Despite having a supposed "memory care" unit in the facility they are ill equipped to care for patient's who have Alzheimer's. The staff is not at all attentive and are either unwilling or unable to recognize that sometimes patients might exhibit angry outbursts and demonstrate behavioral problems in the late stages of the disease. This facilty has no business advertising that they are able to care for Alzheimer's patients and I would never recommend this facility to anyone. I intend to report this facility to the state of Ohio

I have never been so thankful as I have been with Queen City Hospice, aka QCH, and their Head RN…read morePaul Johnson, and Paul's team of amazing caregivers. I have benefited from other hospice organizations for other family members and after experiencing QCH I will ALWAYS choose them from now on!! Here is why... I wanted in-HOME care for my mother who had lung cancer that spread to the brain. She was a smoker of 53 years. In the past, we had used another hospice company with in-FACILITY care for my father who had oral cancer, lost his jaw, and was bleeding consistently from his trachea implant. This in-FACILITY care was good. When we used the same company for in-HOME care for my mother, the care was less than desirable. That was when I realized that Queen City Hospice was a true GEM!!! All elder care IS NOT equal!!! While the other facility had visited our home in the days beforehand, I still did not have the needed equipment or actual physical support. On a surprise Saturday morning, my mother drastically declined, falling while trying to walk. As I was trying to help my mother get up to a safe place and tending to my 2 year old son screaming at my leg, I called the our original hospice in a panic, needing serious help from an aid. I was told that aids do not work on the weekend. I wish I had known this point and understood what that really meant in practice, not just theory. The reality meant- I was totally on my own for the weekends, including the soon emerging emergency on my hands. Luckily, a neighbor recommended Queen City Hospice, I called, and without delay they came to the rescue!! Within hours of a phone call we had transferred hospice centers, we had oxygen, a hospital bed, bedside commode, medicine, a nebulizer, and 24 hour--round-the-clock care so I could rest amongst other benefits. The QCH nurses and staff were AMAZING!!! It was like having family here in a strange city. They were there to listen when I needed to talk, and stayed out of the way when I did not. Everyone was super experienced and knowledgeable. I have never experienced such love, concern, care, and beautiful compassion like I did from Paul and his team. My mother died in my arms 48 hours later. Thankfully the nurse at the bedside prepped me for everything that was happening. I really felt she passed without pain and in peace like she always wanted. For a brief moment, neither one of us felt fear and we were able to focus on our bond, our relationship, all because of the incredible care of Queen City Hospice!

When you press your button, it always takes at least 30 minutes before someone responds. Sometimes an hour. I've learned to buy meal bars and keep them around for emergencies. This is certainly not the first time this happened. This place is extremely understaffed. Today, the aide told me I'm on a list of 5 people who got no lunch. When I came here 2 years ago, I was horrified to find out the aides also have to serve meals and pick up trays. So we NEVER get good service. Whoever runs this place is an idiot. The other day, when several aides called in to say they were not coming in because of the heavy snow, they put 2 brand-new aides working together on the WORST hall. The blind leading the blind.... Many patients here have dementia. I'm here because of severe arthritis. It gets kinda lonely if you meet somebody and have a nice conversation, but the next day they just give you a blank stare. I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE!

Neither the director or the ED has checked in with us or apologized for our experience. I have a sick feeling about how my dad or we will be treated now. All of their staff really care for their patients versus just doing a job. They have ample staff and keep everyone out in a group versus just lying in bed. The facility is spotlessly clean. My husband just returned from visiting her and had the same comment on her hair and very clean environment. Although my mom is past the level of participating in activities, she can watch. They also have pet therapy which she can participate as well as live music.
