I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Rana & his staff. I volunteer for a rabbit…read morerescue and Dr. Rana has gone out of his way many times to help us with sick rabbits who needed to be seen ASAP. His knowledge and compassion for these sick & injured rabbits is amazing. He went above and beyond when we were hit with the recent outbreak of Rabbit virus. He donated his time to help vaccinate over 400 rabbits. How many vets would do that? I wouldn't hesitate to take any animal in to see Dr. Rana at Apex Animal Hospital.

Apex Animal Hospital made time to see him immediately, without any emergency up-charges. Dr. Rana was incredibly compassionate and very thorough in his examination and found an obstruction in his small intestine. He made time to do the surgery within the hour and even took our boy to HIS PERSONAL HOME to monitor him over the New Years day holiday. The next day, Dr. Rana texted us a picture of our baby and told us he would be able to come home earlier than expected. What surprised us was he adjusted our final bill to reflect less hospital time. Truly, honest veterinarian Day after surgery and our ragdoll is purring up a storm and back to his usual self. Its incredible to think we almost lost him just a few days ago. I cant thank Dr. Rana and the staff at Apex Animal Hospital enough for their love and compassion for our Willow bear. We are forever grateful

Took our puppy in hesitantly because there were several hospitals closer. Our vet was so…read moreknowledgeable and kind to our fur baby. It was clean and we didn't wait more than a couple minutes. Top notch experience I don't feel guilty about driving by others to get to the best.

I chose this vet for my 3 pets because my amazing vet retired some years ago, and Comfort & Care…read morehad the highest Google rating of vets nearby. I should have looked at the Yelp reviews as well first, as some of these experiences align more closely with mine. I booked an appointment for a rash on my cat's face and later added a full exam so I can sign her up for pet insurance. The vet did a thorough exam, was gentle and kind and informative but the rash was not offered a solution and I agreed that it may just be stress-induced from some changes at home. I was told that they could not obtain a urine sample at the time (for the insurance exam) and given a kit to take home. I called the next day to say that I was having difficulty isolating my cat without adding to her stress to get the sample myself and they said I could bring her in to try again at no additional charge. I called again to say that her rash was worsening and asked to see a vet again at the same time. So four days later we saw another vet. They could not obtain a urine sample again. The clinic's procedure is to first try a urine extraction by needle through the abdomen, which seems excessively invasive. I asked why they didn't just manually stimulate her to pee, like a vet once showed me for a cat with an injured tail. She seemed a little surprised and offered to try that way. At this point, my cat was shaking and drooling in fear. She tried to put a cone on her for the rash, which she was not having. Dogs were barking loudly in the soundproofed exam room next door, which was clearly not sound-buffered (animals, especially cats, are so sensitive to sounds. I don't understand why all vets don't soundproof. It would make everyone's job so much easier.) No cat enjoys the vet, but this visit seemed particularly stressful for her so I said we were just ready to go home and I'd figure out the urine sample somehow on my own. Again, this vet was good and prescribed something that I think will help for the rash. My real issue is with the business practices of the owner. When the receptionist said she was going to "only charge half price" for the vet visit, I said I would pay it, but I made a point of mentioning that I had only brought my cat in 4 days earlier (for a very expensive visit) for the exact same issue which was not offered a solution, and I didn't think it was right to charge me again, no matter the discount. But I said I'd pay because the vet deserves to be paid for her time (by the practice, IMO). The owner overheard and stepped in. She opened our chart and started reviewing it. She then essentially accused me of lying about declining treatment for the rash, saying it was right there in the transcript. I told her that was incorrect and I had no memory of declining any treatments offered, because none were. Then she threatened to "listen to the transcript" to find out who was telling the truth. I looked her in the face and asked, "Were you recording me in the exam room without my knowledge or consent?". She immediately began to backpedal, told me that she wasn't going to charge me for the exam and blamed her staff for not informing me of the recording. She gave me what started to sound like an apology that turned into an apology on behalf of her staff, not actually taking accountability for the way HER business runs. Then she thanked me and said she was going to reprimand her staff and put signs up in the exam rooms for clients to be aware. Frankly, I think recording is a good idea for transcription, but it's very poor business practice to record someone without their knowledge. She immediately lost my trust, which is paramount in any medical relationship. Obviously, we will not be back. I will take any recommendations for an excellent vet in the Langley area, but if you're reading this you are likely searching for one too. So I give two stars, one for each vet who was good. But zero stars for the way this business is run and for the owner. The name of the clinic is not reflective of our experience. My cat was very uncomfortable and I left the same way too.
