Unfortunately I am unable to give Brookshire a 5 star review for hosting our wedding. The first interaction with Erin and her team had all of the makings of a great experience, but quickly went downhill. I had 3 different wedding coordinators since I started the planning process and it was never communicated that there was a change. I was asked about details (i.e. linen choices) a couple different times because information always seemed to be "missing" from my file. As it got closer to the day of, there was a lot of confusion, mis-communication and inaccuracy of information given to myself, mother, and husband. While I appreciated the effort of giving me "compassion" items to make it right and had high hopes of this all turning around, the day of my wedding made me very upset. The biggest issue was the food. It was all cold, the chicken was dry, the veggies were under cooked, the pasta was coagulated along with the sauce on the chicken and very unappetizing. That had to be the largest complaint of the night by all our guests. Originally we were told by our wedding coordinator that it was prepared and cooked offsite and then brought by warming boxes the day of the wedding. However, when we confronted Erin about it she was quick to tell us that the coordinator was incorrect and that it was prepared offsite, but cooked at the venue. The first we noticed Saturday when we walked in is that we never smelled food cooking like we had in other venues we toured who did prepare and cook food at their locations. If it was cooked there, it wouldn't have been as cold as it was. Perhaps, the tackiest thing of the night and icing on the cake was when they put the dance floor lights on and big and bold in the middle of the dance floor was the couple's name and wedding date of the night before. If you decide to have your wedding here, get every interaction in writing, ask a lot of questions, and make sure that all i's are dotted and t's are crossed. Brookshire may be perfect for some but not for all. read more
