We used them previously to install a Carrier AC unit in our old house and were really happy with their professionalism and the quality of work. Armando was kind enough to arrange to have the work done the same day as he was concerned that we would have no furnace during such cold weather. His team arrived at my home within 3 hours of the call! They were fast, friendly and super efficient. They cleaned up and made sure to take all of the waste and packaging away. We were thrilled with the service. The other thing to note is that we shopped around the previous year in preparation for our eventual purchase of a new furnace and Pro Climate was significantly cheaper than every other HVAC company we checked. It was the same for the AC they installed in our old house. Hands down they are the most reasonably priced company I've seen. I advise you NOT to work with this company. They were dishonest in their dealings with us…read more We had problems with our furnace shutting off during a recent cold spell. We called Hoerner Heating (which has now been purchased by Dr HVAC) as we had dealt with them before and liked their service. Their technician came to the house on Thursday morning and told us that the furnace was shutting off because it was overheating (which was accurate). They said It was overheating because the unit was too large for the area it was heating, and the furnace immediately required a new gas valve and limit switch as well as cleaning of the blower motor and secondary heat exchanger. This would cost $2405 plus hst; and this was just the beginning, the immediate repairs required. Then there was option B in their report: System Restoration & Enhancements (Option B): "During my evaluation, I noticed extreme temperature stress points on the heat exchanger and the venter motor is overamping. These are still in safe operation but when they fail, they will cost around $4800". A new furnace was probably the more cost effective approach. A sales person from Dr HVAC came by that afternoon. Dr HVAC coincidentally had a spot they were looking to fill the next morning, Friday, and could offer us a new furnace installation at a special cost of $6000. We declined their offer as we do not make large purchase decisions under pressure, without research and a minimum of 3 quotes. Our furnace is SIX years old and still under warranty. This was never mentioned. We called Carrier the furnace manufacturer and asked if a limit switch and gas valve was covered under warranty. Yes it was but we would have to deal with a repair company that had a contract with Carrier and could find one listed on their website. We contacted Dupont heating and A/C who is listed on Carrier's website. We told them we believed we needed a new gas valve and limit switch. They came Friday morning. According to their technician, there was nothing wrong with the gas valve or limit switch, both were working fine. The only issue was the gas pressure coming into the furnace which needed to be reduced. We did NOT need any new parts for the furnace and we most certainly did NOT need a new furnace. All DR HVAC technicians must be on commission. They are very pleasant to deal with, and very convincing, but you cannot believe a word they say. They charge the lowest initial diagnostic fee but, be warned, you may pay far more than you need to if you work with them.

On Monday (Jan 31) we noticed that our HVAC system was leaking, flooding our basement. We called…read morethis company who had previously installed the HVAC system. The old owner used this company prior to us buying the house in 2020. The technician who came to repair the HVAC said the issue was that the condensation pump was broken and placed a new pump. After installing the new pump he found that the condensation drain led outside the house and into the garden. The cause of the issue was that the condensation drain, which should have never been installed leading outside, had frozen, backed up the pump and caused the pump to break. He said our only option was to get a new line installed but we'd have to pay to have a new line installed, despite the fact that this company had ran the previous line, that had broken the previous pump, flooding our basement. He left our 'fixed' pump with the condenser going into a bucket. We paid $500 for this service. The next day (Tuesday 1st) we called to speak to the manager and spoke to Rhonda who said she didn't think having a new line installed was a unreasonable ask, but she needs to confirm with the owner and would call us back in half an hour. It's now Friday (Feb 4th) both me and my husband have called back multiple times to ask whats going on and have been told multiple times that the owner and manager are both too busy, the receptionist would leave a message for them to call us back. I asked if I could book a meeting or some time with either of them and was told that wouldn't be possible but she would again leave them a message to call us back. We're absolutely appalled by the customer service of this company. This company originally ran the line outside that cause the flooding in our basement that we've now had to make an insurance claim over. We can't use the $300 pump that they installed because if we did the exact same thing would happen. Asking for the company to rerun a line, is not an unreasonable ask considering the damage that has been done to the basement and the results we've been left with from the service. We have absolutely no idea why anyone would run a line that carries water, outside, in Canada where, it will freeze... If you're looking for a company to conduct good workmanship, good communication and customer service, please look somewhere else.

This year, 2025, we called them to report it was not working sufficiently: temp is set at 23, but the house registers 24.5 degrees! They want to charge $150 just to come out and inspect the problem. The original unit lasted approximately 20 years without an issue. This new Carrier unit installed by Convertible is just over 4 years old and it's unable to maintain a comfortable temperature of 23. Recent heat waves are a good test of the quality of an air conditioner unit, as well as the reliability of the company you hire when you need a new one. Disappointed in both!

Along with Sebastian (shoutout to him), they managed to decommission the old furnace and install the new furnace seamlessly in an afternoon.
