I looked forward to the trips to the ice man. Cuz he also sold soda. Anyway M and M and I were walking from Gladys' and I see this ice place!! Memories flooded my brain. I fell into a time warp. I saw a bunch of young black guys hanging outside and I immediately knew that this was the place. I walk over and I start to interrogate all of them. "Wasn't this place on the left side of the street? Wasn't there an old black man that worked here?" My friends thought I was crazy. But these dudes confirmed that I wasn't. This was the place. Yes it moved from Bergen to St Marks. Unfortunately the owner died but I got to meet his son Me-Roc. He owns it now. And he's knowledgeable. Super knowledgeable about, of all things, ice. I had no idea about the "lucratvity" of the ice business. For instance did you ya know that dry ice is used for all kinds of shit: Tibetan funerals, specialty drinks, and pest control (wtf?). I literally witnessed their patient consultative approach to selling ice to a woman who was in there to buy dry ice. I'm pictured here with Me-Roc. I want him to be my new friend. So glad I reconnected. This is a neighborhood treasure. Need ice? Go here.

The water options were spring water, Alkaline water and purified. They use reverse osmosis to purify the purified water. Yes, Of course we tried them all! All very tasty and different. I walked out of there with a 5 gallon jug of alkaline water and a 5 gallon jug of fresh spring water. All GLASS! I honestly found that incredible. This company is a relatively new family owned business, that I love to support! Their prices are unbeatable and I love that you're able to try the different types of water they offer. The employees are super sweet and accommodating. They even took us to the back to see how the water is being filtered. That was so interesting! I highly suggest this place for all your water. Then I've been receiving two bottles of water every couple of weeks for that period of time. The last time I called was given a hassle about only ordering two for delivery. I live less than a .25 miles away. When you order the water you can almost never pay at the same time... and it's multiple calls back and forth because the owner is the only one who can take a payment. They often call during my work day and I'm usually very busy. The last time returning their call must have slipped my mind and I neglected to pay. Meanwhile during that time they never called again or sent me any kind of notice. When I went to reorder today they took my order, then called back and told me they no longer wanted to deliver to me because I didn't pay. The amount I owed was around $12. Offered to pay then and there for both orders and was told that wasn't possible. When I tried to explain I've been a customer for over two years they try to tell me I never pay. Lies! When I said that wasn't the case and people make mistakes... still no delivery. If you even question the owner he starts getting angry. Kept on ordering from them because they deliver but the toxic energy of the owner isn't worth it. STAY AWAY!
