I was a die hard "tanning bed" fanatic over the years but, I can no longer do that due to being diagnosed with skin cancer. This news was a major disappointment for me as my natural skin tone is very fair and I felt better and more confident when I was tan!! I knew going to tanning beds or laying out in the sun was no longer an option for me.. So, I tried numerous over the counter self tanners and the time, awful smells, stickiness and never getting ultimate results became very frustrating for me that I just finally gave up!! But, That has all changed for me now!! I can honestly say.... I am happily tan once again!! Thanks Sarah!! You've made a girl very happy!! Call Sarah- get spray tanned!! It's Awesome!!

I forget the name of the gal who does the spray tans, but she made it an incredibly easy and pleasant experience. I was nervous because I've never had a spray tan, let alone set food in a tanning salon ever before, and I really didn't want to look like an Oompa Loompa. She was so helpful, guiding me through what I may be looking for, and through the entire process. It's slightly awkward to stand naked in front of a woman you have never met before, in a "shower", while she blows cold air on your body, but she was so professional and kind. I went back a second time because I did choose to go for it for my wedding and she was exactly the same way. I so appreciated it!

I decided to try Tangles one day, and was helped by Sam, and I've been a loyal customer ever since. All the women are great, it's a great atmosphere, and as long as my girl Sam does hair, I'll be going to her. In fact, my entire family gets their hair cut there! Unlike many stylists I've gone to, Sam never gets sloppy, always keeps appointments, is always on time, and just does an amazing job. I would refer her to anyone. The prices are extremely reasonable as well. I get my hair done at a fraction of the price I've paid in the city, and the quality is just as good. I have also had up-do's for social functions done by Cuca Ferriera, who is also great. I've had the spray tan services as well, which are flawless every time. Thumbs up for Tangles. A great salon tucked away in our little town. :)

Had I wrote this review while I lived in YC and frequented this place, it may have been a 3. But,…read more"You don't know what you've got--til it's gone!" I moved to Washington and let me tell you.... tanning places are more expensive and DISGUSTING there. California Sun has MANY locations, so if you leave the YC area and go to Sac/Roseville you can still tan while running errands. WIN. This location gets busy around 4-6pm during the week, but I like their summer upgrade specials and how clean it is. I also like that the girls escort you back to your bed/room. The beds themselves are AWESOME. They actually provide color and the music (for the most part) works. Word of advice: 1) don't go in there with some nasty lotion you got at Target and 2) don't get the cheapest monthly service.... you get what you pay for, and the rest of us look at you like you're wasting your time and money (because you are). If you want a GOOD tan, you need to invest in one! Get a good tanning lotion, an after tan lotion, maybe a body wash (if you want to go that far) and upgrade once in a while to get a shade darker. Oh and for the people who freak out about tanning... I never burn and I know how to protect myself from the sun. I like that beds provide me with the ability to control my amount of vitamin D intake, and it's done much more safely than outside under the actual sun.
