(varies) The sandy area is quite large, lot's of room to spread out. The water is pretty clean, and is a nice temperature. You can also rent paddle boats and canoes and such for additional fees. They also have a large water slide for the kids to go on. Unfortunately, for some strange reason the day we went it was closed which disappointed the kids. Most new parks I'm introduced to by my dad who walks anywhere and everywhere with our dog, Cooper. We were both feeling like an evening stroll and an ice cream and he suggested going down to Bronte - an area that is really nice, but not one I often go to! We parked at a waterfront park which seemed like the trail was very elevated but as we walked down I noticed a sign that said this spot was okay for swimming. I was a bit hesitant to believe that because...you know..lake Ontario? Swimming? Boy was I pleasantly surprised! This beach is adorable, well maintained, the perfect spot for an evening picnic. The shoreline was sandy and not full of rocks like many other beaches in this area. There is an area on the opposite side of the pier that is more rocky, but you could still sit on larger rocks or bring a chair on that side as well. The trail itself isn't too long, so if you're looking for more of a hike this probably isn't your jam.

It was so relaxing walking by the water and through the forest. The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold - just right! We walked by many families fishing at the river and also noticed the tree top trekking/zip line above. We want to return to try this next time! There were families having BBQ's at picnic sites which were reserved (guessing you can book them online/through the park ahead of time). They also had a splash pad and pool - wish we brought our bathing suits!! They also had an ice cream truck positioned close to the splash pad and you know we had to get some dipped cones after our hike in the woods. Bring your bills/coins - the truck is cash only. Note, if you have one of the Canada 150 park passes, it does not work for free entry here. For entry for four adults we paid $26. All in all, Heart Lake is a lovely place to visit super close to Brampton.

The Guelph Lake is pretty big, if you enjoy boating you will have fun. This location features a number of campsites, some literally with a wake up view of the lake and a breeze. The trail has mostly bush, so wear covered clothing in case of ticks, and a beach. I was somewhat disappointed because the trails were rather "like walking a park" but I'm sure the boating and beaching would be fun when the weather warms up. Admission is roughly $7, with the grca annual pass it's free. The GRCA is not funded by tax payers so they charge for admission.

I will admit I have never been out of the country, and Yelping was a little rougher for me when it came to restaurants. I just didn't know distances from the hotel to where I was looking for things to do. So, I left food to them. I had fun finding activities for them, and this boat ride ended up being another success on my scoreboard. You do have to schedule a time, but they ended up not checking the time, they just scanned the tickets I forwarded to my husband's email. Easy enough. So, FYI, the Canadian boat typically has more people on the cruise than the U.S. side. It was packed! Not sure how I would have like that, but those things don't bother them like they do me. They will get you very close to the falls, and you will get pretty wet, but they do give you a poncho before you leave on the cruise. The cruise was about 20 minutes for $42 Canadian dollars.
