This laundromat, plus wash-and-fold did exceptional work from start to finish! They picked up my loads in a timely manner, and brought them back just as quickly. Everything was folded beautifully, but what pleased me the most was how my garments and other washables were separated according to category - like a bag for tops, a bag for pants, a bag for sheets etc., Sarah, Nicole and Gary are also very friendly and helpful. This is a huge game changer as you can leave your home when you know there are machines available, saving you from waiting around at the laundromat for a machine to free up. On top of all brand new washers and dryers, we have a brand new comfortable seating area with tables in between each seat, as well as 6 brand new stainless steel folding tables and laundry carts. All of our machines take quarters, loonies and toonies, and if you have bills only, we have a change machine fully functioning and ready to go as well for you. This was the first time I had used a laundromat outside of Ottawa. The building interior was…read morebright, clean, and well-maintained. So far so good. Until I had finished my laundry - multiple loads - and was transporting baskets of clean and folded sheets, towels, bedspreads, and duvet covers out to my car. I family of three had arrived about an hour before I was finished. Two adults and a teenaged male. The adults, a man and a woman, kept to themselves but the teen boy appeared to be aggressive and was making me uncomfortable. He continuously walked around the inside perimeter of the building, seeking out eye contact with the females there, and slapping his open hand against the walls and the washing machines as he did his strange rounds. He was openly eyeing my jar full of change so I did take that with me and locked it in my car, but out of necessity I had to make several trips with folded laundry to my SUV parked outside. After my second trip - I still had at least two more to do - I returned inside to find them gone, along with a brand new summer-weight brand-name bedspread I had just purchased the week before, a new Queen-sized winter-weight duvet, three winter comforters, all "designer" brands, and a large stack of designer brand towels purchased at Winners in April with a gift certificate my sister gave me for my birthday. So be on the lookout. I will not be returning to this laundromat, and I have reported the thefts to Guelph police. I have been advised the chance of having my belongings returned to me at this point is slim. Both my husband and I have been quite ill since suffering the effects of COVID or the side-effects of the hastily-approved vaccinations, according to the specialist who has been treating me, anyway. It will likely be another year at least before I can return to my job in a profession that requires 2 graduate degrees and professional licensing to hold. I cannot afford to replace any of these items until I am back at work, and as you may have guessed by my use of a laundromat I cannot afford to replace my elderly and broken-down appliances either. But I do not hold any hate in my heart for these thieves - only compassion for people who have found it necessary - but I hope not easy - to take what they want from a fellow human being, without knowing what my own circumstances were.
