Showcase Homes has shown continued and consistent incompetence in being a home builder…read more The garage door openers they use on their houses are cheap and will consistently trip GFI breakers. There also seems to be a real lack of communication between them as a home builder and the other subcontractors like plumbers, electricians etc. These houses are $300,000-$700,000 investments. I'd think twice before investing that kind of money with this company.

Clinton sold for CBS Homes and Clayton and Sherri worked with Dave Boyd, the now retired (supposedly living 'out of state') owner of Monarch Homes. What I can tell you about is my experience with Monarch Homes. My house was built in 2005. Before they conveniently took a home building reorganization break in 2008, they had to put in a sump pump because my basement had water coming in, they had to replace half an exterior wall due to water damage because the roof wasn't properly flashed and the exterior particle board was damaged when the stone veneer was placed. They should have replaced the entire wall and corrected flashing at the roofline on both sides of the house. (We found another 2 houses with the same floorplan that had similar damages.) That was January 2007. We also had several places where the tape and bedding was simply giving way in the ceilings and walls. At the same time we also showed them a crack that was forming in the basement wall at a corner below the garage. They dismissed it but later that year/or possibly 2008, they came out and had to jackhammer part of the garage floor because the soil beneath had not been properly compacted. In 2013 our basement flooded. Water could be seen coming in through the "dismissed" crack. We spent $7000 with Thrasher to redirect the water into the sump hole and reinforce the cracked wall. (Monarch should have done this in 2007/2008) In 2015, I hired someone to come out and AGAIN address peeling drywall seams, nail pops, settling cracks, etc. In our dining room, I discovered that water had been coming in where they chose not to replace the entire wall in 2007. Now, with 10 years worth of accumulating water damage, we are spending $16000 in repairs while assuming the added expense to redirect all the downspouts from the gutters out of our back yard. During the repairs we discovered that they knew water was leaking in and took steps to deliberately cover it up! Do not trust their warranty, do not trust their warranty repairs. Look up more details on my review of Monarch homes!

I had to threaten to sue them twice because they refused to put in the toilets that I wanted and the kitchen faucet I wanted - even though I was told that if I wanted something done that wasn't in the plans, to "just let them know". Also, I was smooth talked into purchasing $8000 wood floors from Hallmark Hardwood floors - being told that they were the "best" and were practically impervious to scratches and we were duped into purchasing this flooring - it is now, after only 8 years COMPLETELY damaged and now I'm getting the run around from the Hallmark Hardwoods company that has PRINTED ON THEIR BOX that there is a 20 year warranty on the flooring, as soon as I tried to contact them, they told me to contact the builder who told me to contact the manufacturer - and around and around we go. DO NOT let yourself be a victim to a dishonest company that has 5 different names who will make building your house a horrible, stressful and awful experience. P.S. I gave them 1 star b/c I couldn't submit my review without selecting a rating - but I would give them NO stars at all, given the opportunity.
