Charleston Homes cut corners with our siding. Working with Justyn (VP/COO) only made matters worse, as his condescending and bullying approach showed us exactly how little Charleston values its customers. On top of that, we also experienced deception from the sales rep, who attempted to slip items into our change orders without disclosure. Taken together, these experiences show a pattern of cutting corners, deflecting responsibility, and failing to put the homeowner first. I would like to pass on my opinion of Charleston Homes. When I had my real estate license back in 2008 Charleston Homes was new to Omaha and they had a reputation for building a good quality home. TODAY'S Charleston Homes is definitely NOT that. I rank them no higher than a Celebrity Home. Since I have moved in I have had my patio door replaced because of chipped glass, window lock replaced because it broke, walls that had bare spots where they had missed painting, a brick fall off of my house, my surround for my bathtub replaced TWICE, once due to it being cracked and the second time because their replacement had a black spot on it the size of a silver dollar, my garage had spackle spots that needed "touch ups" because it was spotted like a leopard, my kitchen cabinets have doors that have needed replacement because they are covered with glue residue and they have been cut with a knife and are also defective, my sprinkler system needed repair work in the first month of its use, my sidewalk had a chunk out of it, my deck had to be repaired, my address plaque that I paid EXTRA for has a chip in the cement, NOTHING in my house looked at nice as the workmanship that was done on their model home. Charleston Homes builds CHEAPLY made homes and I am disappointed in the quality of workmanship. Please think about this when you choose new construction. Thank you. We were about to build with them, until we found that many of their price sheets were incorrect. They were not incorrect because of supply or increased prices due to shortages, but rather due to being simply overlooked. The day before we were to sign they found the lot we had chosen mislabeled and quickly added $20k to the price. We told them we would go another route. On another subject, their agent was very kind and responsive. read more

I would NEVER purchase a home from this builder. They have built in our neighborhood and done nothing but lie to the existing homeowners. They built a mudpit that has overflowed and flooded the park. We have brought this to their attention on several occasions that this was a possibility and we were told it would not happen. Not only has it overflowed the park but it has put all of our homes at risk for flooding. When building their homes, their contractors have not treated the existing neighborhood with respect, concrete trucks speeding up the streets, not using fences to prevent dirt flowing down the street leading to more flooding on the streets, etc. Just another dump and run builder! read more
