I am very thankful for the help that Will Cruz and Bonnie Bryan provided me from Bromwich and Smith. It was very hard for me to decide to bankrupt because I never owed anyone anything. I was always responsible for my financial affairs, but this time I was scammed and robbed of all the savings of my life that were significant to me as a middle-class individual and I was left with a debt that It will carry on for more years than I thought I will be alive. This happen 7 months after I lost my beautiful wife. In my 65s I must retire because my wife needed care 24/7, so I must resign from my various professional licenses too, because I didn't know for how long she was going to be sick. As soon as the scam happened, I asked for help from the usual entities, including the institution that I was banking with, but I was left alone and without real support. As I share my situation with my Family a few names were suggested to find support. I went to one that evaluated my situation and presented me with the options that will help me the most. So, after that, I did my research for experienced companies that did help people in similar situations to mine. The one that I felt did explain better my options on their website, Bromwich and Smith was the one that I went to consult. At that time, I was somehow suspicious or afraid that they were a scam too but wanting to believe that they were not. From the very first call I felt well treated, Mister Cruz was very polite and respectful and as I did some homework, he continues the same way. That makes a difference in how you feel. After that, I had to work with Bonnie Bryan, who also was, polite, and courteous and helped the rest of the way. Many institutions that deal with individuals are not as respectful as Mr. Cruz and Bonnie B. I write this review because I want to thank Bromwich and Smith for having professionals like Them (and the others that were there helping) and helping people in my situation and similar ones. I first became aware of Bromwich & Smith while perusing a brochure my husband had obtained over a year ago. I was at his house because he was diagnosed with a brain tumor, lost his job, was operated on, had radiation treatment, then died 4 months later. Neither my daughter, with whom he lived, nor I was aware of his debt problem until creditors (and a lot of them) started coming out of the woodwork at this time demanding money. We turned to Bromwich & Smith, to whom my husband had not actually spoken, and Shawn Stack & company guided us through what was an extremely trying and traumatic time. We had never heard of this service but were assured it was government regulated. They act as an intermediary between the debtor and the creditors and put together a proposal that I was sure would not be accepted, but was. Shawn told us that 99% of the time, creditors accepted these proposals. Our problems were augmented by a writ attached to the title of the house, but Shawn assured us that the writ would become part of the proposal and would be removed. I was a legal assistant in real estate law for 5 years and understood the ramifications of this writ not being removed from the title, but the proposal was accepted by all of the creditors. I wish I had known about this firm from the beginning, as my daughter and I were totally floundering until we met with them. This proposal was not actually a bankruptcy and did not cost us any extra money. We did not have to pay hundreds of dollars to a lawyer to figure this out. While our situation may or may not be typical of most debtors, I am satisfied with their service and would not hesitate to recommend them. read more

If you need to go through a consumer proposal or bankruptcy look no further than Bromwich & Smith. The company we deal with are on the SE side of Calgary and they take the stigma of financial problems out of the way and help you, not only financially but on a different level, with your feelings and they will get you to a point where you can hold your head up again. The atmosphere is very casual making you feel comfortable. I for one, cannot think of a single negative aspect or word that we've experienced while working with this firm. Everything has been above board. There have been no surprises and if any surplus fees do come up, nsf fee or a one time withdrawl mix up on our part, and certainly nothing like what I see written on here. I had struggled through years of chronic illness, hospitalized at times, whilst being a single parent of three children. In the end I was deeply in debt as I had received no support payments or help to meet expenses. I googled bankruptcy one day and left a phone message which I did not expect to act upon, but the call was returned and I learned that Proposals exist. I did qualify, and 15 months into the program I am relieved and happy to say that I have no problem with the payments, have built up a small savings account, and no longer have bills to dread. It took a little longer to get started as life got in the way and he was very patient and so helpful and empathetic to my crazy life.
