The pros: to start the experience off we showed up around 1045am (15 min before opening) and there was plenty of free parking, which was amazing! All of us were able to get a free spot and honestly that's a bonus for a place like this. Most places have you paying for parking. Security was quick and easy and the fact you can also bring your own coolers and food and drinks is also amazing as most places do not allow that and force you to purchase their overpriced items. So this was great. I love eating healthy so I was able to feel good about my food that day. The park (we went to both east and west side but spent most of the day on the west) was well maintained and fairly clean from what I saw. The beautiful oak trees and plenty of picnic tables that you could set up your stuff on was also nice. We sat near the river and it was the perfect place to set home base and enjoy our food. Loved how it was also set next to the pool. Whatever playlist or dj they had that day was awesome. 90s R&B was on the loud speakers so that was right up my alley. :) My friend lost her phone in the wave pool/lazy river and someone turned it into the lifeguard and we were able to retrieve it from them. We appreciated the honesty of whoever found it and also to the lifeguards for holding it for us. Cons: the unfortunate part of the trip was the lines. My goodness. Average wait time was up to an hour each ride. We were there from open to close which was 8 hours and we went on 4-5 rides. So needless to say this was a bit of a bummer. For $60 we would have wanted to get more action for our money. This is why I gave the park 3 stars. The workers did seem a little young and also one of them was fairly rude. A friend of mine were trying to get a tube and the worker stopped me and said I'll get it. And then threw the tube at me. ------- To be honest I know there were a lot of reviews from people who have been here from years and years past who are disappointed in the way this park has headed. While it's sad to hear I only know what I know and I'm used to long lines at other theme parks so it seemed pretty on par. However, if this place used to have shorter lines whatever is needed to get back to that would be appreciated and honestly would bring more business to this park as I'm sure people will continue to avoid this place if they have to wait in line 1-3 hours per ride. So I hope management changes things. I could tell some of my friends weren't too happy with waiting in line so long. Over $100 per person for a fast pass is absolutely ridiculous and robbery if you have more than one person in your group. There has to be another way. Thankfully I was just so happy to have a girls day with friends that I kinda overlooked the long line times but I'm sure had I not been in such a happy mood-it would have been a big buzz kill. Overall, I had an amazing time outside the long wait and all my friends said they had a blast so that's a win! Unforgettable girls birthday trip:)

They run through the summer season for a few months daily, then switch to weekends only in the late summer. I would advise getting there as they open to get the best parking - we arrived around noon a couple weeks ago and had to park at a lot that was a little less than a mile away. Not so bad for just the two of us, but a lot harder for those with coolers and bigger groups. The parks are amazing - so many fun tube rides, body slides, and some faster tube blasters that are so much fun! I especially like the double rider tubes in Schlitterbahn east, like the Black Knight. I highly recommend the Fast Pass - it is a steep price but well worth it for accessing more of the rides. We felt like the regular fast pass was more than enough as we didn't have time to access all the rides once throughout our day. We also only visit once per season, though. It's been pretty crowded on both of our recent visits - Saturdays in July and August. I would guess it's less busy during the weekdays. We got to ride the Falls (worlds longest tube ride) on our visit in mid-August but they shut it down for the rest of the season the day after we went. All in all definitely worth visiting at any age and very family-friendly. You can rent a locker for your belongings and some folks keep their coolers on the tables by the larger pool areas. You can bring in food/drink or purchase in the park and they have Dippin Dots!

Oh and it's very good. So we went this evening. No reservation as I think is suggested. There was a large group of people, a table of four, and a table of two on the main floor. We were seated in the upper area, not on the main floor. We're OK with that. There are about four two-seaters on this level. Ernesto Jr. came by and explained the three specials offered this evening. The menu lists about a dozen different sauces that can top the dish you order. They all sound delicious. I had the Steak San Antonio. This is a filet of tenderloin covered in avocado butter (so good) with an enchilada of your choice, rice and beans. Served with a basket of freshly baked French bread. The husband had a seafood combo: shrimp, lobster, snapper stuffed with lump crab served with rice. His was topped with the Veracruz sauce and another selected by Ernesto. Fabulous. The food has flavor. Tons of flavor. The service is spot on. Ernesto comes by first, talks to you, makes suggestions and then takes your order. The rest of the staff takes over from here. Delivers your food, keeps up with refills, clears the table, brings the bill. This is a well-run process. We had ceviche to start. The husband is not a big fan, so I ate the majority. I enjoyed it very much. When we left, Ernesto came outside to thank us for coming. That doesn't happen at most places. The truly personal touch. Give this restaurant a try if you haven't already.

The location is perfect step out the front door and you're right in downtown San Antonio. From the hotel restaurant, you can take the stairs or elevator directly down to the River Walk, which makes getting around so easy and convenient. What we especially loved is that this hotel has so much character and charm. It doesn't feel like one of those cookie-cutter chain hotels. We had a balcony, although it was simply too hot during our visit to sit outside and enjoy it. I'm sure it would be wonderful on a cooler evening! The bar and restaurant were both excellent, and the entire staff was friendly and welcoming. A special shout-out to the valet guys they provided wonderful service and were always so helpful. Great location, beautiful atmosphere, delicious food and drinks, and exceptional service. We would definitely stay here again when we're back in San Antonio!

C-TBI is a little bit different as it wasn't just one big hit that caused damage... it's been a bunch of accumulative hits over a lifetime. If it wasn't for the NFL talking about concussion and CTE, no one would believe me. Now one of the my life's purposes is to make others aware of the seriousness of head injuries, no matter how minuet that might seem at the moment... *NOTE* every single little hit adds up! With all this said, I stopped in to Austin Canoe & Kayak to pick up a helmet to wear on my future rafting trips... as well as any other extreme sports that might appeal to me in the future. Ha! Who am I kidding, I probably need to wear it daily around house as another hit to my head just might leave me in a veg state or kill me... that's just the reality of my life.
