There were baskets out, but we decided to pick our own strawberries. We are back in Cary and couldn't wait to come back. It's only a 30 mile drive. I love seeing the country. The tomatoes, zucchini and squash were well worth the trip. They also sell beef and lamb. We will be back again before we continue with our travels. After some extensive research and comparing different options, I landed on the Witch's Barn at Firefly Farm. I purchased our tickets online ($13 per "victim") morning of, and we headed down. We managed to generally avoid the scattered showers in the area, which was nice, as it allowed us to walk some of the farm grounds outside of the barn, too. After parking, we checked in outside of the barn, received hand stamps, and then walked through the chickens and scarecrows. We were able to walk through the barn as many times as we'd like, but we opted for just once due to time constraints. We're just big kids in our 30s, but we had a blast. You could tell the barn was a labor of love and a family operation. I took so so many photos of all the fun and vintage decor. We met Farmer Cindy at the end and completed the quiz, winning a PYO flowers prize! There were a couple of "actors" inside (a clown and wolverine) too. The clown scared my boyfriend more than once, which really made my day (thank you). This was a fun, family-friendly activity, and I definitely recommend it!
