The teaching approach is incredibly inspiring. You feel supported every step of the way, and all the teachers in the classes I attended were not only highly professional but also deeply encouraging. Even as a complete beginner, I never felt intimidated or out of place--you truly feel like you belong right away. I'm so grateful I found this school. After completing Level 1, I immediately enrolled in Level 2 and continued all the way through Level 4. I'm proud to say I completed the entire Improv program at Improv LA, and it has been such a transformative journey. I also took Comedy Sketch 101--it was a blast! I came in with no idea what to expect, and by the end, I created a sketch that made the whole class laugh out loud!

Every teacher I've learned from has far exceeded my expectations. Their skill, clarity, & support make the learning experience incredible. Even Ryan's three-hour one-day class last night felt like an entire six-week course because of how effectively she drilled the concepts & had us apply them in real time. And Keith's Everyday Improv has been transformative for everyday communication. It's the kind of class everyone should take, regardless of age or profession. ImprovLA consistently delivers engaging, energetic, & thoroughly taught classes in a supportive environment that makes growth feel exciting & achievable. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking to learn, connect, & build real confidence through improv. -Sarah Khan

I came here with friends to watch Rayuela Hacia EL Mas Alla. It was all in Spanish, but for those like me that only have 2 years of high school Spanish, there were subtitles projected on the top of the stage. The play was a dark comedy with a little bit of everything. It had humor, drama, terror, a love story and a "non-hollywood ending." Going in with an open mind and not knowing what the play was about, I was blown away. Parts of the play made me think of Guillermo Del Toros Pans Labyrinth and Kurt Vonnegut from my AP English class in high school. With its morbid beauty and dystopian setting. It amazed me how such a large story could be played out on such a small stage with just a few actors through the use of lighting, minimal props, and and the expression of those actors. Kudos to Laura Santa Cruz and Manuel Chitay for a wonderful performance. It was very creative how they used the same projector to animate the clocks and show the passage of time. As well as (not to give anything away) execute certain scenes. This play is very unique in the sense that every few weeks they change the ending and have a different actress. Which not only brings a different take on the story but keeps you coming back for more.

They have about 4 or 5 performances throughout the day but my advice is to get there early if you want a good seat. If the show has a start time of 1PM we would typically start waiting in line at around 12PM. Even then you probably won't be the first people in line but you will still get a good seat. Once the line starts getting long they start making people go up the ramp and start making line up there. Be aware if you start going up your whole party must be with you as they will not let anyone go up that is left downstairs. Be aware that in this are you must fill in all the empty space. People do try to cut to get to the front so just be aware of that. Once they open the doors you enter from all the way up top unless you are handicapped then you are let in downstairs. You can choose to sit up top which is still a nice view but if you want to be up close you will need to make your way down all the stairs to make it to the front. As far as the show for the 2024 season they did change it up and make a just a little bit more modern which I loved. The performers all did an amazing job and of course we all love seeing the peanuts characters perform on ice. It was a great show and I hope they keep it the same next year or if they do change it I hope it is for the better. I do miss the summer show that they used to put on in this theatre. I'm not sure why they got rid of it but I hope they bring it back one day. If you come here during the holidays this is a must see show for all ages.

I prefer the Snoopy on Ice versus Beach Blanket Beagle, but both shows are pretty good and entertaining. They do sell show light up neon sticks which can interfere with your eyes as well. They also have events there as well as I remember in high school the award ceremony was there. Oh yes no eating or drinking during the show and make sure your entire party is there.

My husband and I are both suckers for dressing up in medieval-inspired clothing and enjoying the fantasy atmosphere, shows, costumes, and creative energy. I've been to the faire several times over the past few years, and I do still enjoy going. It's fun seeing everyone's costumes, doing a little window shopping, watching performances, and just being in an environment where people are free to dress dramatically and act absolutely ridiculous which is part of the charm. You never know what kind of characters or familiar faces you'll run into. All that shared, it has gotten pretty expensive just to visit. Tickets are now close to $50 per person, parking costs extra, and food can also be pricey unless you pack lunch and eat before going inside. I feel like if you're going to go, you need to plan for it as an all-day trip and bring enough money so you can actually enjoy the games, food, drinks, or some of the better-quality merchandise. Otherwise, it can feel like you're paying a lot just to walk around and sweat in costume. You also have to be ready for the California heat. Since there aren't indoor areas with AC, your best bet is finding shaded spots whenever possible and staying hydrated. I still love going mainly because I enjoy dressing up. My favorite costume I've put together was my Esmeralda-inspired outfit from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and the faire is definitely the kind of place where you can have fun with that without feeling out of place. Overall, I'd say it's worth experiencing if you enjoy Renaissance/fantasy themes, costumes, live entertainment, and unique vendors. Just be sure to go prepared. Check the weather, wear comfortable shoes, bring sunscreen, hydrate, go with friends or family, and save some money for the extras so the trip actually feels worth it.
