I read many reviews on Yelp, and after evaluating many contractors, I decided to use Yelp's project tool to contact Clark Innovative. When you do this, you get responses from many other companies too. Many reached out before Chris from Clark did. I ended up making an appointment with one of them to have them take a look at it. This person began has contract biz recently... and he did not seem confident. The way he was looking at it, he was reacting in a way that seemed like it's a bit of a pain in the you-know-what job and said it was going to cost a lot. He was a nice guy, but he did not instill confidence in me that he knew what he was doing. (He never even sent me a bid) After that, I wondered if I should reach out to these other companies that responded, but my intuition was telling me to wait a bit longer. Clark did eventually respond with apologies, and made an appointment to come look. They looked at it and just the way he was acting, I could tell this person knew what they were doing, and they came up with a solution to just replace the rotted portion, saving us half the cost! (So yeah, I believe the innovative part of their name!) It was all incredibly reasonable. Dates were pushed back etc, because of rain and other things, but I honestly didn't mind it. Chris tried to be a good communicator, and even when he wasn't, I could contact him and he'd respond. He was just busy. Sometimes, you can just tell with people who is being genuine. Who wants to simply do a good job for you, without gouging you or ripping you off. We need more of these people in the world right now. I'm glad I listened to my intuition, and waited for the right company to do the job. And I will definitely use them again for future work. It's really nice to have a good contractor in our back pocket.

He explains to you what needs to be done, how he's going to do it, and how long it should take. He takes pride in his work. Initially we hired him to just re-tile our master bath shower floor (which was poorly done by the previous owner). What impressed me was when Daniel walked in, he took a quick glance and immediately said there's no slope built into the shower floor, so the water is not draining properly, causing the water to puddle under tile. Luckily we caught it before the water got through the waterproof sheeting and into the foundation. Since the shower pan had to be completely removed with some of the shower wall tiles to check for damage, we decided to it would be better to re-tile the entire shower and bathroom floor. After working with Daniel on master bathroom we had him do our entire guest bathroom and shower (which we hadn't planned on). Great guy to work with. Highly recommended!

It feels as its her way or the highway. The specification for the pool coping thickness was clearly stated on our contract at 3" but we still had to have them cut down a inch because the contractor didn't allow for variables. This delayed the project a few months and we paid for the stone cutting at significant $$$. Once completed the job looked very good, until we got into the pool a few days later and noticed the coping grout was extruding from under the coping an over the tiles in a few places where we need to attach the pool cover track and a big blob in our skimmer! Asking Gutierrez R Construction to resolve this and we didn't get a response to two text messages until I mentioned my attorney even still they appear to have no desire to resolve the poor workmanship. My recommendation is don't hire Gutierrez R Construction!
