It was surprisingly quiet for the bell parades that were going on for 3 days and nights. The staff knew your name and what room you stayed in even if you have never seen them before. Also they let me check in early the day after christmas so major points to the cleaning crew for coming in early to make the room. Everything was perfect until I re-read my bill the night after checking out. The bed had broke in the middle of the night on the 27th and I didnt notice of course until I woke up. I immedietly let the staff know and they promply fixed it while I was out. When I checked out the man at the front desk was professional but not very friendly with me. I dont know if it was because I was an American, younger, a woman or a foreigner that he was so nice to the German gentleman in front of me but had a less friendlier attitude when I talked to him. I am now back a day later to talk about the 50% bed repair for 100 chf I have on my bill. I asked to speak to someone about the charge and was handed the concierge phone at the front desk. It is Simon the owner/manager that checked me out. I ask why I have to pay for a bed I did not break, he says the break is not common and that the cost is 200chf and he graciously already paid for half. I told him how it happened in the middle of the night and that I should not have to pay for bed maintenence. I was acused this time that I must have 'jumped on the bed, or 'made aggressive movements' or had 'rough lovemaking' in the bed because it broke near the head and it shouldnt do that. He also stated that roughly 6,000 people come through the hotel per year and that the beds are fine for them. Again I explain that all I did was sleep or sit on the bed and if I had broken it myself I would have said so and paid the repair bill in full but since that is not the case I would like that portion refunded. He did offer to give me a copy of the invoice so that my insurance can reimburse me which is proper and I am glad that he is kind to offer. However he still insisted that it was my fault and it was generous that he has already paid half of the repair bill. Since I have no way to prove that the bed was previously broken, well used or faulty it seems that I am the unlucky fool that has to pay for it. I left that hotel in near tears feeling like I was branded a lier and unreasonable. The entire conversation I was calm and polite but in the end I felt like he did not care. For a Michelin hotel to treat their customers like that is unthinkable. Everything was perfect until that point.

From the months leading up to our stay to our initial steps into Grindlewald from the train station they thought of every way possible to make our stay extraordinary. We were there from Christmas Eve through the 30th and had the most magical Christmas. They brought a mini Christmas tree up to our room upon request so we could have an authentic Christmas morning with our kids. Staff reached out months prior to find out our son's names and then Father Christmas himself handed out personalized gifts to every child using their full names at a Christmas gathering. Even for the adults was a once in a lifetime experience. Skiing from this hotel location is a Breeze. Couldn't be a better location. The views are incredible. The pool table was one of the huge highlights of our stay. Food is amazing. Breakfast easy and divine. Can't say enough. You meet the owners and their family. You feel the love and care they put into the place. We've told everyone it's a place you must visit!

Highly recommend getting breakfast with your reservations as their breakfast brunch is really decent. Definitely request room with view of the Eiger as the view is absolutely stunning. The buffet was plentiful and offered lots of room to sit and look at the amazing scenery. One final plus is they have parking across the street in another parking lot. I think it was only a few euros more, 5? 10? much less than what hotels charge in the city at least.

We ordered a salad and a meat based pizza. The salad was fresh and refreshing. The pizza was excellent on the level of pizzas we had on our 10 day travel through Italy. Service was very friendly. Where do I start with my favorite hotel I've ever stayed at?…read more So this is in the small town of Grindelwald, and getting here by public transportation is SO easy. You can walk from the station with your luggage, it's not that bad. If you rent a car they also had parking available too! It has everything you need: amazing rooms with views, a restaurant, bar, spa, a FREE laundry room, gym. I knew coming here it would be my time to relax and not really do much as I was traveling other places before. I picked this hotel for many reasons, but basically what I listed above was it, and once I arrived, everything exceeded my already high expectations. I had room 106 and it had the LARGEST patio ever. It came with a double swing, patio seats and table, and where do I even begin with the amenities in the room. A fantastic bluetooth speaker, bathrobes, slippers, coffeemaker, cups, wine glasses, etc. It was the most comfortable room ever. Spa was hands down just as gorgeous as it looks. Seriously message me if you want me to gush more. If you plan on wanting ZERO plans and just hanging around taking advantage of the hotel, this is your spot. The staff worked so hard- Dominique I saw you each morning for my FREE (included) breakfast and she was so attentive and sweet. Roger, my massage was AMAZING. Fabulous technique!
