Bring a hoodie because the building is freezing cold!! Came back around 3:15pm and found out our fate around 3:50pm. They let 66 people in that day!! Went through security around 4pm and waited in the peacock lounge until they 4:30pm when they started taking people to the studio. The show was amazing and it made me feel like I was in the year 2016!! This was the second time I waited on standby and let's just say the last time I went, I tried to give Jimmy a high five and fell... What was different was the musical guest was at the show and Jimmy let the audience ask some questions and I had a lightbulb moment. A couple people later he ends up picking me to ask a question and so I started with that my cat is named after him. And the last time I was at a taping, I tried to give get him a high five and fell. And then I asked if I could get a hug. And he jokingly said no at first, but then he said I'm not gonna leave you hanging without a hug and I started walking out of my row and met him halfway near the desk on the last row and got a hug!! He thanked me for being so supportive and I remember crying!! He asked if my cat was named Jimmy or Fallon and told me to tell Fallon that he says hi. I ended up getting another hug and went back to my seat afterwards. All I remember is someone else asking a question about working with Queen Latifah again and the musical guest performing. I'm just relieved that my sobs weren't caught in the background because I was crying throughout the performance. When the show ended, he went back into the audience giving them high fives and when he was at my row, he leaned over so I could reach without falling and shook my hand!! That made me cry even harder! I remembered crying while waiting for the elevator to go back to the nbc shop and thanking employee when they greeted me us. I'll never forget that day!
This was a fine experience. I'm not really a Fallon fan but the experience of watching a 'live to…read moretape' recording was pretty interested. We didn't have tickets, so we went to the gift shop at 30 rock through the 6th ave entrance to score some stand-by tickets. We arrived what I would call late, at about 11am. If you want to get these stand-by tickets I'd recommend arriving as close to 8am as you can, because every ticket is numbered and they can only fit so many people into the studio (they will always try to fill it). If I recall correctly the tickets said to come back to 30 rock at 3:15 but note - if you arrive a bit later, say 3:30, it won't effect your chances of getting in - the most you can do to increase your chances to see a show that day by walking in is to get there at 8am when they first start giving out the numbered stand-by tickets. Also, while they say you cant bring in bags, I had a smaller sized north face backpack and my friend had a large plastic bag and a small purse. If your number gets you in to see the show that day, you will pass through security like at an airport. Everything is extremely orderly and organized, the only stressful part is 'am I going to get in to see the show or did I just spend an hour and a half of my day for nothing.' My friend and I just got in under the wire, with the guy behind us being the very last person to stand-by for this day's show (there were about 56 stand-by visitors accepted that day). You will have an opportunity to use a bathroom before you sit for the filming, so don't be concerned about that. If you're a fan of TV or of Fallon you might prepare a question or two to ask him, he took a number of questions from the audience. The funniest one was 'are you going to use that entire bit you just did' because Jimmy and Drew Brees spitting pumpkin seeds went on far, far, FAR too long, about 3? minutes, which was about 2:45 longer than it needed to be. Jimmy was quick with the 'no, that's going to be edited down.'
BOO... Looking good Jimmy Fallon tonight with your new sharp hairstyle and beard! 10/28/2022

Most memorable skits of all time were The Coneheads, Gumby and More Cowbell although the Black Jeopardy skit during the 2016 presidential election with host Tom Hanks was unforgettable. The SNL of today has a few skits that make me chuckle but they stretch the dumb ones too far to complete dumbness. SNL 50 years later, I really do miss the old time greats of SNL. I can't say enough good things about Gabriel's professionalism, talent, reasonability, personality, etc. My daughter & I were visiting family in NJ from the Gulf Coast. By the time we arrived, the line was in two parts and we had to stand in the back half. We waited in line for about 30 min before the line started shuffling towards the entrance. One of the executive staff came out and asked who had high energy and wanted to be in a game and they selected five people and whisked them and their friends away. Other staff members confirmed our names were on the list, had us sign a waiver, and then gave us a ticket marked either A, T, W, or S. We were given a T. The next phase was going through security. That took another hour. There was only one metal detector and two persons working this station. Once through security we entered into a cramped waiting room where we had to fill out a Ask Wendy Question form. They wanted everyone to ask at least one advice question. It wasn't required but it was strongly encouraged. Finally they started seating groups. A stands for At. T stands for The. W stands for Wendy. And S stands for Show. This is the order they brought you in. Once inside it's nothing but the dj and the hype man keeping everyone hype and excited. It was like a mini party and very high energy. There were times when the camera got in the way of seeing Wendy, but there were small TVs stationed around the room so you could still see. In between segments they were playing music and hyping us up again. There was also a performance, so seeing them set that up was neat as well. overall we were there from 11:30-3:30.

One of the benefits of visiting lots of museums is that you develop a nice little routine. Some steps necessary, others mere symptoms of OCD. No need to delve into the OCD here but I will share a few of the more useful steps. 1. My most importan tip, VISIT the website of the museum, close to the time and day of your trip. In this case - http://www.yumuseum.org. This will help you to avoid awkward situations like standing helplessly outside of the closed museum and watching all the pretty people inside drinking wine and having fun for a PRIVATE event. It will also remind you of important nuggets like when the museum offers free or discounted admission. Yeshiva University Museum happens to free on Mondays. 2. Stalk the museum on social media (Twitter @yumuseum, Instagram @yumuseum, FB https://www.facebook.com/YeshivaUniversityMuseum) This will give you a sense of the more popular and selfie worthy exhibits to either prioritize or avoid based on your preferences. The museum was cool, quiet and virtually empty when I visited, leaving me free to peruse the gorgeous photos of the highly-lauded Borscht Belt exhibit, at my leisure. 3. Ask the museum staff for their recommendations. Even with all my research, I didn't realize that the building for the Yeshiva University Museum (The Center for Jewish History) actually housed four additional partner institutions, the American Jewish Historical Society, the American Sephardi Federation, the Leo Baeck Institute, the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research. And while the Yeshiva University Museum gallery was the only exhibit actually open at the time of my visit, the helpful front desk staff gave me the inside scoop on an upcoming event where I could be one of the pretty people on the inside and not on the outside, staring in.

I only bring that up because having the "Triple Play" allowed us to get discounted movie tickets and one of the participating movie theaters was a small Clearview Cinema, located in Mamaroneck. The village, itself, is a cute little area. I like to park mid-way of the main street because I enjoy walking past the little shops that dot the sidewalks. Most of these places are small businesses and I love that about these Westchester villages that seem to thrive when everywhere else, conglomerates are taking over the world. Aside from the movie theater, we would visit a lot of the restaurants nearby. There's more of a variety than one might think, being that the village is located a considerable distance from the city. There is a plethora of cuisines to choose from, whether you're craving French, Italian, Mexican or Japanese. Unfortunately, the cinema has since closed down and we switched cable providers so, we hadn't been back in a while. When we came back recently so I could gorge myself in everything raw bar, I was reminded of the days we would spend in the area. We found the event listed somewhere online at the last minute and it mentioned motorcycle cage stunts and it just seemed so big and dramatic for Brooklyn. We followed the address to a warehouse sandwiched between a cemetery and a burnt out wrecked car. It added to the mysterious, carnival atmosphere. It's a on dark, desolate street, and an old door leads you into a room full of mismatched Bohemian furniture, brick walls, fairy lights, and lots of laughter. I didn't feel like I was in NY anymore, this was almost like a small towns roadside carnival. The show starts off tame with spinning plates and a clown, then escalates to some pretty aerialist acrobatics, a man whose very talented with a whip, and finishing off with some feats of strength and balance before...a man balances a pole on his shoulders while at the top of the pole another man rides a motorcycle in a cage. Man, they delivered. See the photos! This alone is worth coming out for, but the whole show is so great. It's family friendly (plenty of kids in the crowd) but there's plenty to keep adults amused too (plus beer, no snacks though). The bathroom is also very cute. All the stalls to the doors are painted in different ways, with old mirrors and lots of wood, it looks like a Secret Garden themed antique art space. And they have an old timey prize machine: for $5 you get a little weird prize. We chose a "paw print" (see photo), which a local artist makes. Delightfully weird! Their merchandise table was also full of some great finds. Some cons: The entry way is small so once it gets closer to show time the line snakes out the door, but that's not so bad. The chairs are torture devices. The worst freakin chairs I ever sat on. I took a pillow from one of the couches in the waiting area but it really didn't help, I stood for the second half of the show towards the back and had no trouble seeing anything. I really can't recommend this to people enough, it's good for everyone :)
