I appreciate that they have concessions, and the concessions crew moved the line quickly. I appreciate that the theater gives back to those who are going through cancer, and choose a beneficiary to give to/support. It was easy to get to and find, and the tickets were a decent price. Hopefully I'll be back for another show in the future.

Everything about it was top-notch, and at such an affordable price! We were happy to make a donation to the "Hope Box" in the lobby afterwards, dedicated to supporting a young woman battling cancer. Every actor, including the supporting cast, did an excellent job with their singing, dancing and acting! The Cowardly Lion and Wicked Witch of the West actors sounded just like the originals from the 1939 movie! The sets were excellent and crew did a great job behind the scenes. I'm looking forward to attending future productions! Bravo!

The business may not look like much on the outside, but the magic that happens inside may be one of Utah's biggest diamond in the rough metaphors. Having moved to Ogden 5 years ago, I had heard almost nothing about the theater scene, and what few theaters my neighbors directed me to featured predictable kid friendly favorites that cater to a crowd that could watch Rogers and Hammerstein for 5 consecutive seasons. Not that there's anything wrong with that level of convention, but for those who want to see the envelope of modern theatre to be pushed a bit further, it leaves a tangible gap. That is where Good Company Theatre finds a niche. I don't recall how we first found the playhouse, but it's definitely off the beaten path, so much so that most theatre buffs and local residents aren't familiar with it. As such, when we first bought tickets, our expectations were lukewarm. Years later, I can honestly say that this company had not only exceeded our expectations, but is our favorite theatre in Northern Utah. Expect no fancy red curtains or flashy productions of Mamma Mia to be shown here any time soon. Instead, enter and you will be greeted by an industrial brick and mortar room with simple chairs on a riser. The setting is small, but this creates a unique and intimate arena for a show. And the scripts played out are usually unconventional and feature aspects traditionally underrepresented by mainstream theatre. This is part of the magic of Good Company. We've seen full productions, original compilations, and workshop readings. The talent, passion, and community this theatre brought to each was refreshing. Patrons should be warned, however, that Good Company is not for all tastes. Read content warnings before purchasing tickets, which are usually posted on their website. Some scripts have strong subject matter, and this theatre unapologetically keeps content true to how plays are written. Make sure you will be comfortable with the show before you decide to go. That said, this company has a gritty, down to earth, humanity embracing style I've never experienced anywhere else. In that sense, they are a true gem, and a much needed outlet to keep local theatre diverse and progressive. A true gem in the world of art.

(one of the reviews) was exaggerating the truth when she talked about her grandson. I was part of the recital that year, and he was so cute! Though he did not get as much stage time as he deserved, he was dancing for the majority of his class's number. He was a ladybug with the most adorable collared shirt. He was the only male in the class, and his dance was almost exactly like his classmates. For the recital, be warned, the performance has always been held in June, and measurements for the costumes are usually taken in December. If your child is growing at a rapid rate, be sure to ask them to "be a little bit bigger" for the measurements. Most classes generally begin to learn their dances in January or earlier, depending on the class. In my experience, anyone below the pre-pointe class has one dance with his or her class, and then performs in the opening and grand finale. For those starting pointe, Miss Penny sells shoes for around $60. (believe it or not, that's really cheap!) however, she only sells a few styles, and only Capezio. In your child's first year of pointe, I assumed that at least one of the three days each week would be spent on regular ballet slippers, but this is not so. From the very first day with pointe shoes, a pupil will be dancing on pointe shoes for one hour. Yes, in the beginning it does NOT feel good, but I truly believe it has led me to grow stronger, value physical effort, and live a healthier lifestyle. If your child does not feel fitted to Miss Penny's Pointe shoes, I would recommend Puttin' On The Glitz, which is located nearby. They are very knowledgeable and have a great selection. For regular slippers, I would recommend Revolution Dancewear's shoes with a stretchy middle. These allow growth, both because of the stretchy middle, and the leather, which can expand half an inch, maximum. Mine lasted me three years, while I was growing. Though Miss Penny can seem intimidating, she does not mean to be, and does not instruct the younger students. She begins teaching pupils once a week when they start in their first year of pointe, with younger instructors doing the other days. The younger teachers are also in charge of the younger classes. For the younger classes, there is the teen instructor that has gone through careful scrutinization, and then there is a student teacher, who can be anywhere from 10-14. As for the number of days per week, I believe that young classes are taught once a week, and I know that starting in pre-pointe, 2 days is the norm. In beginning pointe, there are 3 days.
