So much fun we have been twice in two months. The production of ELF was so good. Just saw Phantom of the opera and the cast was amazing. Concessions are inexpensive and tickets are fairly priced. Went to the Producers performance last night. All though the acting was good, the continual use of sexual presentation was not appreciated nor was it tasteful. A theater that supports and flaunts sexual acting is not worth my time. Please note that I'm not referencing love and romance. The play was just lude. Not Impressed. Suggest stating in more detail if a play is going to have sexual, not talking romantic, over tones! We left at intermission. read more

Great community theater! Small theater with good views of the stage no matter where you sit. Plenty of parking. Their tickets and concessions are reasonably priced, and the popcorn is great! I got season tickets before the holidays at 1/2 price and we look forward to our theater dates! This has become a family tradition of ours to go the the Ziegfeld at least 1-2 times a year in addition to the annual fairly potter Christmas carol. The musicals/plays are a joy every year. We recently saw Matilda and I don't know if I've ever laughed as hard as we did watching Miss Trunchbull this year. We hope to bring our friends with us to the next showing we go to as we drive all the way from salt lake and it is worth it for sure! We had the opportunity to attend The Rocky Horror Show on Friday, November 1 for the Midnight Madness with Frank N Furter Friday night. We had so much fun from start to finish. While adding their own flair of production, choreography and vocals, the cast and crew did a great job in keeping this show true to the perfect blend of science fiction, horror, camp, and sexuality that has created a cult following and dedicated fanbase. There are no rules when it comes to The Rocky Horror Show and The Ziegfeld Theatre's production embraced this along with its fanbase. The actors responded to the callouts and made it part of the experience. They impressed this diehard fan and the "virgins" in the audience. The show had great new twists to the characters and scenes while staying true to the tradition of this science fiction double feature. We wait for it next year in Antici......Pation. I just moved to Utah May 2018 and been here 4xs. I love this little theater! Everyone does a fantastic job. Came with my family Friday night for first performance of Momma Mia. My family has been living here 26 years and this was their first time here. The young girl who played the part of Sophie knocked it out of the park. Great acting, fantastic singing! She's going places! My one and only complaint....the mother of Sophie...had to YELL out Jesus Christ in one part when she was mad. I'm sorry...that's unacceptable to me. Not necessary! I've heard good things about this theater and we've been wanting to check it out for some time now and we finally had no kids this weekend and we decided to go see young Frankenstein. We showed up at the box office at about 7pm to purchase tickets and they had plenty of tickets left. 40 bucks for 2 and that seemed reasonable. We decided to sit smack dab in the front. The seating is nice with padded chairs with a capacity of about 100. The stage is good sized and the sound system was really good. Overall a nice little theater. The performance exceeded my expectations. The actors were really good and played their parts well. They all had really good voices and I did not notice any bad notes hit. The cast was relatively small so a lot of them played multiple roles but it did not take away from the charm. The dancing was also pretty good with a couple of really good performances. Good time for my wife and I to spend a few hours laughing. We will definitely go again, a good deal for the money paid. It was also nice to know they had young Frankenstein performed here, I musical in Utah that is a bit risqué is always a good thing in my opinion. Give this place a try with your significant other. There are a lot of Theaters in Utah and even more Talent. Having worked in the theater world for many years I am well-acquainted with the genre of Community Theater. Very often these products are where people of the community and fledgling actors get their opportunity to shine, Typically, the budgets for these shows are next to non-existent, and often times, the directors have a hard time finding enough solid talent to fill their cast. Even though you might be tempted to classify the Zig as a "community theater" there is one thing for certain, they do not BEHAVE like a community theater. Allow me to explain... Every production I have ever seen there has been quality. Even though their budgets are small, their attention to detail is not. From the sets to the costuming these guys take the concept of working with what you got to the next level. The big seller for me however is the Talent. Somehow these guys are able to pull in some of the most brilliantly talented actors Utah has to offer. They may not have the production budget of some of those other theaters, but what they lack in spectacle they more than make up for in Talent and stellar directing. Another thing I appreciate about them is their willingness to do shows that are not typically seen in Utah. When it comes to comedy, these guys have it down to an science and they do it better than most. These guys aren't getting any big fancy grants from the state or federal government. It is owned and run on the blood sweat and tears of actors and artists and I for one want to see it succeed. So get out there and support the Ziegfeld!! You probably won't regret it!! read more

TOO HOT TO ENJOY THE SHOW!! It is absolutely terrible that these poor kids work so hard and have to perform in such hot circumstances. If it wasn't for my grandkids being a part of these plays I would never support this theatre. They charge way to much for this low budget theatre and the kids actually pay to perform. They make so much money and can't even have air conditioning for not only the performers but the paying customers. It's a shame! The kids put their heart and soul into performing and the least they can do is have it comfortable for them. I will be reporting this to the health department.They never starts on time and the lady that introduces the show talks forever. Just get on with the show! read more

I've now attended 3 productions at the Ziegfeld - Fairly Potter Christmas Carol, Annie, and Peter and the Starcatcher and I can say without hesitation that I love this theater! The cast is always so spot on and so talented with a really great sense of humor and comical awareness of the low budget of the theater. I've been to other low budget productions where you feel like you're doing them a favor by attending, but make no mistake that the crew at the Ziegfeld is a group of professionals that put on an amazing show that's a great value. I never feel anything is missing or overseen, which is amazing for tickets that cost something between $15 to $20. read more

I have seen several shows at this gem of a theater and always came away looking forward to the next time! Sure this theater is a refurbished antique, but the talent that they recruit to perform in each show, blows my mind everytime. I have gone in skeptical to many of the musicals, but I was pleasantly surprised each time. Les Miserables, West Side Story, Hairspray and Disney's The Little Mermaid were my favorites. The acting was good for community theatre, especially since we went to see a youth production. However, the musical was overshadowed by how unbelievably rude the audience was. The audience had no idea what theatre etiquette is, which was proved by all of the flash photography and children running around getting into other people's space without any parent intervention. read more

Recently went to Ziegfeld to see Les Miserables. The production was very beautiful. The only thing bad was the single women's bathroom. But I can live with that. Plus, I attended this theater as a child when it was Country Club. I am glad that Ziegfeld to a treasure and kept it alive. read more

This is an exceptionally good theater and it looks like most of the talent comes from Ogden and Weber State. After it plays in Ogden (thank goodness someone is not putting in reclining seats!) it usually moves on to Park City, for now, about five times the price. $37 last time I checked. I live in Murray and drive to Ogden to see it. Go Ogden. Ogden is the best kept (until now) secret along the Wasatch Front. Guess growth has got to happen when I-15 is widened and the city is serviced by a computer train. read more

Great Acting! This was our first visit to this theater and the performance was wonderful but the theater itself was incredibly uncomfortable. 2 1/2 hours on those seats were honestly abusive. If you were just opening I would understand, but you've been there for 3-4 years. We really want to support you and come again but will wait until you repair your ancient seats. read more

Went to see "The Music Man" and it was top notch. The acting and the singing was as good as any performance I have seen at Hale Center.

My niece snd I really enjoy the shows at the Ziegfeld! I bought season tickets this year. We really enjoyed Rock of Ages!!!! Nice to see something a little edgier. Keep up the good work! read more
