We stayed at a rental "house" from Broadus motel with our kids. It is the most unsafe and misrepresented location we've ever stayed. It is incredibly overpriced, one night stay will pay for a month of rent in Broadus. First, I was told we would be in a four bedroom house with a kitchen. Instead we had four beds crammed in two open rooms. The kitchen was basically inoperable. There is not a refrigerator and the sink is bar sink size. The range and oven were so filthy, I was afraid to use either. Since it was a restaurant (7 years ago), there is old food and dirty dishes lining the shelves. The large kitchen sink and dishwasher are standing in the middle of the floor, no longer connected. My biggest concern was the blatant disregards for safety throughout the house. The front stairs are in such crumbling disrepair that they are almost inoperable. Twice, my father-in-law stumbled and almost fell on the concrete sidewalk. Inside there are uncovered electrical outlets, including a 220 volt outlet, exposed wiring, mouse droppings, rat bait, general filth, expired fire extinguishers and giant holes in the wall downstairs. The inside shower wall had an electrical outlet. The people in Broadus are the friendliest I've ever met. Several people offered to let our family stay with them. Every person I met had very bad things to say about the owner of the hotel. He is known as the town crook who is a liar and a cheat. Even out of town folks I met around town advised me not to stay at the Broadus motel. I wish I had known before we booked. We were not able to find another place to stay, we had to prepay and they don't offer any refunds on stays that are canceled. I hope this review helps another traveler. I did research before staying and couldn't find anything about the Judges Chambers (including pictures).

This motel is absolutely horrible. Literally the worst I have ever stayed in. They charged me $115 plus $15 for my dog. The AC barely works. The fridge does not work. The carpet is held together with duct tape. It smells like urine. The towels are literally rags. I would avoid it at all costs.

Two dead decaying mice carcasses and poop

Extremely filthy. Yellow jackets and two dead mice in the room when we arrived. Forced to pay for 7 nights even though we left after only 4 nights. Rude and aggressive owner. Do not under any circumstances stay at this dump! Sleep in your car if you're forced to stay in this depressing town.

Amazing motel! The owner is very sweet! It gets a bad rap because of people who have a grudge! But it's a great place!!

I never actually saw anyone during the check-in/check-out process. You give them your information, pay, and then you get a text with the check-in code for your room. No key to lose or non-working card key. The code is changed after every stay. The rooms are bigger than usual hotel rooms, so there's little chance of feeling cramped. There's a coffee maker with coffee and tea bags, a small refrigerator and a microwave. The smart tv has many viewing options, and the wi-fi works very well. The beds/pillows are comfortable, the water in the shower is hot and the pressure is good. There's also a coin-operated laundry on the premises. In the morning, there's a continental breakfast in the lobby. but still no one at the desk. The office is monitored by cameras. and if supplies get low, someone will likely be around to re-stock. There is a phone number available connecting to the manager for emergencies or when, like me, you don't see the text message with the check-in code and you're having a whiskey-tango-foxtrot brain freeze trying to figure out how to get inside your room. Long day, long drive, that's my lame excuse. Hooray for the unusual.

Nina provided us two tasty treats: - Superman shake - Blueberry Cheesecake ice cream GOOD stuff... we enjoyed it walking the banks of the Belle Fourche river, right outside the front door Thank you, Nina and the Malt Shop ----- ----- -----

This place was very clean and the staff was super nice! Food: There is a malt shop in the lobby that offers some great ice cream. As for other food, there is a nice breakfast spot, two bars, and a diner within a 3 minute walk of the motel. Be aware though, everything closes rather early. The whole town is deserted by 9:00ish PM. The Room: The rooms are simple, but super clean. They offer a TV, mini-fridge, microwave, and have heating and air that you can control. The bathroom was nice and clean, and the shower had good water pressure and stayed warm for a long while! The pillows were soft and the beds were nice! The staff: The staff was helpful and kind, very friendly people! They even had maps to offer to the guests in the lobby, and were very keen on hanging out with the guests in the lobby seating area! Overall, a great place to stay! And it's 9 miles from Devils Tower!

Even though the Dish Network was not working (which was not the fault of the motel) we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nice little kitchen almost like being at home. The owners live up behind the place and are welcoming and helpful. I had a room with a "Der mit dem Wolff Tanzt" poster in it. Graham Greene and Kevin Costner never looked so heroic. Must be the German. Sometimes I give out more stars to a place when they are the only provider of a certain service in an area, but not in this case. Now believe me, I look forward to the next time I have the opportunity to ring the bell at the Guest House front desk and sign on the dotted line. The issue is that I have stayed in a LOT of hotels, and the Guest House is not the Ritz-Carlton, nor anything like it. So, three stars = A-OK. So if you need to stay overnight in Carter County, call the Guest House right away. You won't find better for miles.
