Here comes the judge! We stayed for 7 nights in the "judges chamber" which is a house the Broadus Hotel rents out nearby. We rented it to meet up with family for Thanksgiving week. I must say, the place blew our minds. How many rentals feature a torture chamber in the basement? You just can't find that everywhere. Even though the lights inside don't really work (lamps work, some ceiling lights don't) you get the spotlight shining in from outside as a night light. All night long baby! All night! You might think you'll close the blinds but you can't. Haha. Changing is always a voyeuristic experience. Drivers by see you from outside. Guests and family see you from dining room. Bet you didn't expect that? The kitchen is one of the strangest rooms. You can stick a knife on the electrical pretty easily so there's that. You have a prep sink but really nowhere to wash a restaurants worth of dishes. The sinks were taken off of the plumbing for a gross jetted tub with homemade plumbing. No door on the shower room since you can watch your commercial Wolfe cooktop while you're taking a shower this way. One of the best touches is the lack of a television. You can't even watch rerun movies after it gets dark at 5:30 during hunting season. You can sit on your two plus chairs or sit at the dining table while you read about Amelia growing sweet peas. If you're looking for a once in a lifetime stay with no basic safety features (electrical up to code, working fire extinguishers, legal front steps, fire alarms, etc.) this place is for you. read more

Amazing motel! The owner is very sweet! It gets a bad rap because of people who have a grudge! But it's a great place!!

Absolute shite hole!! $204 after $20 taxes?? The toilet had feces in it, the door barely opened and we had to fight to close it. The floor was dirty, the stove was from the 60's, I would not feel safe using it! The fixtures were rusted, the towels were stained dark brown and looked disgusting. They refused to reimburse or work with the complaint. They said, "It's the peak of hunting season, that's the correct cost." I just paid for a 5 star hotel in AZ on our trip, for the same price. Hunters and travelers, DO NOT STAY HERE! It is run down and should be condemned it's so bad. read more

This motel turned out to be a lifesaver. While my family and I were driving through Montana, there were not a lot of options to stay over night. It seemed sketchy from the outside appearance but it had everything you would need. The bed was comfortable with no bugs. The bathroom was clean. It had an air conditioner and heater for all types of weather. I would stay here again. read more

We stayed at a rental "house" from Broadus motel with our kids. It is the most unsafe and misrepresented location we've ever stayed. It is incredibly overpriced, one night stay will pay for a month of rent in Broadus. First, I was told we would be in a four bedroom house with a kitchen. Instead we had four beds crammed in two open rooms. The kitchen was basically inoperable. There is not a refrigerator and the sink is bar sink size. The range and oven were so filthy, I was afraid to use either. Since it was a restaurant (7 years ago), there is old food and dirty dishes lining the shelves. The large kitchen sink and dishwasher are standing in the middle of the floor, no longer connected. My biggest concern was the blatant disregards for safety throughout the house. The front stairs are in such crumbling disrepair that they are almost inoperable. Twice, my father-in-law stumbled and almost fell on the concrete sidewalk. Inside there are uncovered electrical outlets, including a 220 volt outlet, exposed wiring, mouse droppings, rat bait, general filth, expired fire extinguishers and giant holes in the wall downstairs. The inside shower wall had an electrical outlet. The people in Broadus are the friendliest I've ever met. Several people offered to let our family stay with them. Every person I met had very bad things to say about the owner of the hotel. He is known as the town crook who is a liar and a cheat. Even out of town folks I met around town advised me not to stay at the Broadus motel. I wish I had known before we booked. We were not able to find another place to stay, we had to prepay and they don't offer any refunds on stays that are canceled. I hope this review helps another traveler. I did research before staying and couldn't find anything about the Judges Chambers (including pictures). read more

Good place to stay if they are no other options. If you don't mind a very dated motel this could be ok. We thought we killed all the flies before going to bed but we woke up with a new swarm of them in our room. The positives are the shower head was new and now very and the mattress was comfortable. I wouldn't stay here again. read more

This motel is absolutely horrible. Literally the worst I have ever stayed in. They charged me $115 plus $15 for my dog. The AC barely works. The fridge does not work. The carpet is held together with duct tape. It smells like urine. The towels are literally rags. I would avoid it at all costs. read more

This little pet friendly hotel is a godsend if on route - I love it because it's genuine and gives you a real and warm feel for the town. If you really want more of the same plastic motel experience, it might not be for you but we love it! ( traveling with my son towards Yellowstone.) very clean! read more

We got stuck in Broadus unexpectedly, needing a place to get out of the weather during a storm. The man at the front desk was very accommodating, letting us check in early without charging. The rooms are dated in some ways, but it was clean and comfortable. They have internet and direct tv. We kept our fingers crossed that there would be a motel in lil ol' Broadus - we found several but chose THE one and only we will stay in again when on a trip. I've been a professional housekeeper for almost 40 years and hands down - this was the cleanest motel EVER - the clerk was friendly - the rooms spotless and modern accommodations; a rare feat for privately owned motels... and we have traveled thousands of miles over the years. Very surprised to find a place with an opening as we did not take Sturgis into consideration when winging it, there are not a lot of options for hotels. In the area. We are really not picky, just wanted a place to 1. shit, 2. shower, and 3. sleep after a day of driving then hiking. Fail #1: First person showered and the water wouldn't drain, no big deal, second shower still not draining, waited an hour still no go as it was ready to overflow, called the desk and were told to come get a get plunger. We are progressive so drove the 2 blocks for a dirty plunger, glad it worked because if it didn't we were told to return for a hanger to try to unclog the drain ourselves. The shower smelled like sewer but useable. Fail #2: Ran out of toilet paper before we left, no spare role and we were only there for one night from 9 pm till 9 am., this was with rationing, toilet didn't flush either, good thing we still had the plunger. Fail # 3: I was pretty excited for the comfortable beds as other reviews indicated comfort and it was noted new beds had been purchased but apparently not for the room we were in. read more

I have stayed here on a few occasions & can honestly say the rooms are clean & the staff is super friendly & pretty much always have coffee on (a plus). I read a few reviews that made this motel out to be a run down building in a one horse town & that is NOT the case. Traveling alone most of the time feeling safe where I stay is a must & I definitely feel safe staying here. read more

Fantastic people and a decent room with decent prices. Ended up in this little town after our vehicle broke down on drive from Alaska to Florida. Had a small issue when the tv fell off the wall in the room we were originally in but they quickly and kindly moved us to another room and discounted an already fantastic price for the inconvenience. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful and made a really crappy situation significantly less stressful. 10/10 would stay again and recommend to others when passing through. read more

This place is giant dump! Plan accordingly there is nothing 90 miles either way. The TV didn't work, the hot water didn't work. All we wanted to do was relax after a long day of driving what a disappointment! It costs $70 I could have just slept in my car it would have been cheaper, it's not like we got any amenities here anyways. Keep driving! read more

I'd give it minus stars if that was an option. It is one awful dump, it's filthy, and never changes year after year. My husband and his buddy have stayed there when they were up there hunting it's dirtier now than it was 10 years ago. The TV is barely watchable. The shower is filthy and the water gets barely lukewarm, it has been ice cold during some stays. The only reason they stay there is because his buddy is too cheap to stay anywhere else. I advise anyone thinking of staying here to keep on driving. Or like Lisa said, sleep in your car!!! read more

Well we stayed here about 2 nights ago. It was as expected of a small hotel in a small town. Didn't have a problem with water or tv. Was clean as expected and we have stayed in hundreds of hotels. As for Matilda it sounds like you might have some broke back mountain stuff going on and he just wants you to think he's having a rough time, when he's really having a HARD time. This is someone's business and as a business owner myself thing can be challenging. Lisa you should put pillows in your car and save your money because a bed beats that any day. Ps I've killed bugs in better hotels than this one. read more
