The highest new slide was quite a climb, but my 5 yr old gained confidence after going up his first time and the reward was a very long slide ride. There are about 5 other slides here too that all offer unique climbing experiences to access them. There's plenty of swings and swing-like equipment and 4 major playing sections. I've seen parks get facelifts, but this one was sooo well worth it and they added more parking which got filled pretty quickly the last day before going back to school! All in all, it was a great time and we'll definitely be back!

Parking is good, just be watchful for children running into the middle of the street. I noticed vehicles driving too fast through the parking area when we visited. The bathroom stalls are huge, especially for moms with strollers. There is also a baby changing station with a bag hook in the corner near the door, which provides privacy. Incredible play space that you could easily spend hours in the sunshine. So get out and enjoy it :)

We came for an evening play date once and there were certainly a lot more people, but my son still got to get on what he wanted without a wait. The park also has nice sand volleyball courts, basketball courts a small running trail and a nice sized little fishing pond. One of the best things is that the bathrooms are located in the center of everything so there's easy access and they are typically pretty clean as far as park bathrooms go. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and maybe bring a hiking stick if you have an issue with balance, since there are lots of uneven paths and steps. It's a great place to go for a walk in the woods with some elevation change up hills (don't expect mountains) that will provide some challenge without being defeating for those of any ability level. There are some pretty views, and you get the feeling of being out in nature and more connected with the earth. It's pretty crowded; on a Sunday at 8, I had to wait in a line to get in. Go early to secure a parking spot. They let people in as others leave, so the whole time you're there expect to see plenty of others out on the trail. No issues with bugs on March day. I especially love Cedar Ridge for trail running because it's challenging and perfect for training without destroying your legs. This is a hot spot for trail runners for sure. Definitely a must see for nature lovers in the DFW area. Temper your expectations if you've hiked out of state, but just remember it's really nice relative to more limited opportunities to "get outside" (in the words of REI) we have in this region.

This park also connects to the Walnut Creek Linear trail that goes all throughout the city of Mansfield City Parks. On the trail, there are plenty of picnic tables with benches sitting underneath trees that provide plenty of shade. There are also many of Texas's state flowers, the beautiful blubonnet, as well as the state tree, the pecan tree all throughout the park. Over this is such a great park to spend your precious off time whether you're looking to let the kids loose and play on the playground or maybe get a nice run/ walk on the trails or even maybe ride your bike. There are restrooms on site, and your furry friends are allowed as long as they are leashed.

There's a really nice mix of easy and more difficult trails with good inclines as well as trails with lots of shade and others with lots of sun. There's yucca prairie and oak forest, a pond, a lake, and interesting geology for rock hounds. Overall, it's a great spot that's big and difficult enough for avid hikers to scratch a little itch and comfortable enough for dog owners and parents of small children. There are no restrooms. The Women's Rest Room was clean but, a little stuffy. There were two stalls. One was small and a little messy and the other was large without a door? Soap dispenser was filled and hot water was available too! My one suggestion would be, the path should lead to the R.R, instead of having to walk through the grass. The trails were alot smaller than I expected. They we're simple and surrounded the lake. The Park is also secured by the Police. If your family member has not returned from the lake after dusk, for more than forty-five minutes. The police will go looking for them. Parking is relatively easy due to the large parking lot that is provided. The park is easy access from the freeway as well or from entering one of the many shopping centers in the area. They have a gazebo that provides seats with many benches and tables that are shaded. There are also 4 baseball fields nearby where you can play a quick game of baseball, softball, or maybe even kickball! There are restrooms, BBQ grills,picnic areas, and more. This park also connects to the Walnut Creek linear trail and leads to many of Mansfield City Parks in the area. This park has trails and a map of where the trails go to at the front of the park. They have landmark numbers all throughout the trails just in case an emergency or accident happens on your adventure. The cool thing about this park is that there are trails that lead under the freeway when crossing through, and I find that amusing. Dogs and pets are allowed but must be on a leash at all times when visiting. Overall, this park is great for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors and likes nature. This would be a great park to host birthdays and other special events for family fun.
