I am a long-time customer with Brito & Brito until this year. They actually lost my tax information without no concern nor any explanation as to what they did with them. I then called to speak with their totally incompetent office staff and requested to speak with Luis or George, neither could take one minute to respond to a long-time customer. I asked for a call back, never received one. I am so done with these guys. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, I should have a long time ago. Then I find out these guys have a Federal lawsuit against them in 2023 for filing fraudulent tax returns...go google it. read more

Who do you contact if B&B made errors or even filed your taxes that were paid for?..Who holds them accountable?????

This is my first time using Brito and Brito. I previously used a large Miami accounting firm (KSDT) for several years. Over time, the cost of tax prep became very unreasonable (5k) Brito and Brito were fast, efficient, and cost effective. I got next day appointment. They charged me less than 10% of what KSDT charged for preparing a simple return. The return was completed on the spot, in about 15 minutes, and e-filed immediately. Brito even found tax savings that my former CPA had failed to make me aware of. I will use this firm again, and definitely recommend it to anyone who wants an excellent tax prep service. Never once have I been audited by the IRS since I've been coming here, which I can't say for the times I've used the other big accounting firms you see advertising on tv. H&R prices might be a little cheaper but they're not experts like Brito & Brito - I get the best returns and outstanding advice every time! Lack of accountability, they filed my taxes 3 times after making multiple errors, informed me I had to receive a return when in fact I was owing money to the IRS, thus putting me in a position to acquire penalties. I have documented communication where they clearly informed me there is no further action on my end and when I asked for answers the prestigious George advised me to find someone else to "bust his balls". Will be reporting to BBB as well - by the way they charge $350 to $500 or more for tax filing just so they can dismiss you and wrongfully file multiple times. what a disgrace ! stay away from these scammers!!!!! read more

The Incompetency and lack of attention to details are the least words that can describe my experience with this accountant. After 20 years getting my tax return done properly by an out of state accountant I decided to change accountant in order to experience a face to face and more personal service in my state . Instead I got problems !!! It caused me so much aggravation and problem with IRS. Not only they are incompetent and impersonal it is hard to get them to have a phone call with you after they take your money. I definitely do not recommend him. read more

I have been going to B&B for ten years now. After leaving NY, I didn't think I'd find someone (Luis) who can be as thorough and helpful as I'm used to. He's so good I have my father, cousin and now wife have their taxes prepared by him. They're so good I drive nearly an hour to go to them (from Broward). I've been a client of Brito & Brito for 20 years, and I have NEVER been treated so poorly. In 2020, Luis Brito not only filed my taxes incorrectly, he also submitted my tax return after the due date (the tax forms were completed in March, but he did not submit them electronically until May - because I called to complain or else the tax forms would never have been submitted). I am now dealing with penalties for his negligence to properly file taxes and file them on time. Additionally, Luis does not like to be questioned because in his mind, he is the professional and no one should question his knowledge. Well, he made a HUGE mistake on my tax return and we had to amend it. In 2021, I decided to give it another try and once again, I was treated so poorly, that I've decided to finally take my business elsewhere. Once again, Luis Brito insisted that HSA distributions used to pay medical bills were taxable and refused to review the IRS documentation - HE WAS 100% WRONG. There were several other errors found and addressed as well. If I were to file taxes using Brito and Brito for my 2021 tax return, I would have overpaid the IRS by thousands of dollars. This place is a complete rip off. You're better off going to H&R block. I was charged 200 for a personal return and 400 for a business return. It took this guy literally 10 minutes to do my return. He didn't get me any money back. I know having my own business that I should be getting something... Instead I was paying them 600 for 10 minutes of work. This place is a complete rip off! It does maybe cost a little more that other companies but they offer so much services and when you are a costumer they do a lot of support that you don't have to pay. I had used Brito and Brito for my tax preparation for a few years. I recently learned they have made several mistakes and submitted erroneous information on several of my tax forms. This is the most UNPROFESSIONAL firm EVER. Not only did they cash my check and did not file my taxes, but when I realized 4 weeks later that my taxes had not been filed, the president Jorge Brito screamed at me on the phone and told me that it is my fault that the taxes had not been filed because I failed to ask him if he filed them electronically or if I have to file a hard copy????? Seriously?? I asked him, when he prepared my taxes, if there is anything I have to do and he said "no you are good to go." Ok. I though, great! I get an envelop from Brito & Brito in the mail a few days later and I thought it is a copy of my 1040, so I put the letter aside. Today, I realized that the envelop contained my taxes that I had to send him as a hard copy. Does an accountant does not think that it would be imperative to let a client know "hey, by the way you will receive a letter in the mail that will have your taxes documents. Please send them to the IRS." Not this one!!! When I sent him an e-mail summarizing our phone conversation and that I will collect and IRS penalties, due to his failure of providing professional services, via lawsuit. He has the nerve to reply and I quote: "get a life lady" and " Oh I am so scared, give me a break and find your self a life as I told you." What the hell is going on over there.
