Somehow the ball got dropped and once I emailed Solar Swim after a few months, they immediately checked in with RCEB and got my daughter approved for classes. I live in Walnut Creek, so I didn't realize how far it was from me and how long I'd spend in traffic. I was 15 minutes late and I called to ask if my daughter could still come. They were very accommodating and moved my daughter's appointment to the next half hour and kept her full hour appointment. I'm very grateful they did this. The manager also offered a later slot for the future and we are happy to take this.

Our family has been a huge fan of ASA WC! Everyone is warm, welcoming and encouraging. The facility…read moreis top notch! Ask for Coach Troy! He's easily the best instructor at ASA - especially for the Adult Swim program! He has an incredible eye for pinpointing exactly where you're stuck and giving clear, actionable feedback to fix it immediately. In just one quarter, he solved my decade-long struggle with air exchange, got me swimming freestyle laps, taught me to tread water, and now has me working on my backstroke. I was about to accept that swimming is not for me but he truly changed the game for me. Troy also taught my baby (AQUAbabies program) -- building foundational floating and kicking skills that paid off all summer long. My youngest lovesss the water now and is comfortable and fearless. Thanks to Troy, I can finally join in on water activities and genuinely enjoy being in the pool with my kids. Also, a shoutout to Coach Hannah at ASA -- she is phenomenal, especially for toddlers and preschoolers! She took my oldest from barely being able to float to comfortably kicking, rolling over, and doing air exchange. There's a lightness to her teaching style -- exactly what that age group needs to feel safe and engaged. She is endlessly encouraging and adapts seamlessly to kids who need a different approach to learning. Thanks to her, my preschooler genuinely loves being in the water now. I can't recommend Coach Hannah enough! Highly recommend ASA WC!

I understand that changes happen, but it would mean a lot to families like ours to be informed ahead of time and have a smoother transition. That said, I truly appreciate the director for listening, apologizing, and working with us. With the added support, my child is now back to learning how to swim which is so important for her. If you are looking for swim lessons, please be aware of sending your kids to All-Star Swim School…read morein Pleasanton. They claim that they will design specialized instructions for all kids, but they do not. We have only been to 8 classes the past 1.5 months, they terminated my kid's lessons due to safety reasons with no prior warnings what-so-ever. They said he runs around the pool (this has improved), he jumps on chairs (well, he stims, as many other ASD kiddies do) which I correct him every time and keep close eye on him at all times, he runs in the parking lot, this happened one time, and I watch him as he runs to the waiting area and there is no moving cars around. During the last class, in last 5 minutes, he was just done and wanted to get out, out of frustration he smacked her (instructor) in the face and head butted her. I was horrified because this is truly out of character and I apologized to her, she responded "it's not my first rodeo.' I was completely caught off guard when the owner called me to terminate our lessons with no prior warnings or if he does this again, we will have to terminate 2 days before the next lesson. I know autistic kiddos can be difficult at times, but don't preach what you don't practice. They could have told me that the head butting cannot happen again and I would 100% understand because I agree, this cannot happen again. I do not appreciate the lack of communication here. While my child did not behave perfectly, it would be nice to get a warning which you did once regarding running around the pool that I have corrected since the conversation. This is NOT how you do business. I highly against recommending enrolling your kids there - it is unprofessional and rude and I am deeply offended by their action. Again, DO NOT PREACH WHAT YOU DON'T PRACTICE. Thankfully, Camille and Tania were great, otherwise, this place is highly unprofessional.

First time coming to this pool & on the first day open for summer ! free swim let's get into it …read more Besides me being an avid seafood lover, I am also a fish out of water lol ! I am literally a mermaid when it comes to swimming. I've been swimming all my life from public pools, private pools to beaches, rivers and lakes , being involved with lifeguarding as a teenager as well . I love swimming. I love being in the water, and I know the rules when it comes to public pools so this is where my honest opinion comes into play. So first of all, I will say this . As a mom I always do my research before I go anywhere , talk about anything , or judge. I've read a lot of mixed reviews about this place. This is what I have to say. I did my research and they said the following: pool is open from 11 to 6. There is a swim test required to go in the deep end and go off the diving board. You are not to wear regular clothes or cut off clothes in the pool. of course no running and etc. when I got there none of the rules were being followed. I even brought kids with me , not one kid was tested to get in the deep end , all life guards watched. and this is the first day opening so I can't go off of "Oh they might know this child" No ! your job as a lifeguard is to make sure no one is going under your watch. I feel like the young team staff thinks that since their parents are with them. there's no need for a swim test .... with my experience with swimming It's very important !including adults ! because just because a parent is an adult doesn't mean they have the best swim skills and if something were to happen, it is your job as the lifeguard to step in . so that stood out to me ( luckily me and mines know how so we were alright) I even taught a young lady how to dive ( she was a gymnastics girly and her mom was present ) and even thanked me for helping because she doesn't know how to dive so how can she teach !! But also as well as people breaking the rules with clothing, you have to remember this is a public space when you jump in the pool you're jumping in and sharing with everything so it was kind of disheartening to see a lot of rules being broken. Besides my personal observation of the rules and conduct of the employees , overall the pool is nice. It goes from 3 feet to about 13 feet deep on the deep end with the diving board. They also have a kid pool as well. They have tables that you can rent out for parties as well as a little shaded area, but you are allowed to bring your own lawn chairs and find your own spot if space is available around the pool , I brought two of mines . came from 11 to 5. The website says 11 to 6. They need to update it cause on the first day. I was expecting to stay the whole day . It was a 90 degree day . And they made us get out at 4:45 because they closed at 5 . I even brought it to one of the guards attention about the hours needing to be updated ( he said it's only for Friday , it was a Friday lol ?! He didn't know what he was talking about ) They have a snack bar, but it's trash honestly I've been and grew up in so many different pools. You could bring your own food and they will not bother you. Save your dollars and pack picnic style for the pool if you decide to stay here all day. Overall me personally, I have no complaints. I know what I will and will not do coming here, but just to appreciate the pool. We had a good day . little details I noticed, but if I come prepared, it's things I don't have to worry about . this is a nice pool . I suggest staff be more aware as well as parents and bring your own food..... that's my opinion.

He loves the water and it was important that he learned or we got him comfortable and try to teach him safety first and like I said for the first 9 months he was happy and I was happy then his instructor left and was placed with a new instructor who by the 2nd week told her supervisor she was afraid to work with my son. My son is non-verbal, Autistic and has failed behavioral assessments which means there are no bad behaviors. If anything he is too affectionate so I guess that didn't work for her and they let us go as they didn't have anyone to teach him. I called several months later to check in to see if they had hired anyone able to work with an Autistic child, my words were to them but they never called. So I say all this to say that yes I was happy with them until I wasn't until they let us go because no one could work with my then 4-year-old non-verbal, Autistic, no negative behaviors child.
