It looks like it could use a little TLC inside - it's dim and stark, and the "room" off to the side for trying on clothing for tailoring is more like a box with a sliding door. However, the woman who helped measure me and pinned my dress knew her stuff. She was very thorough and kept rechecking to make sure I had enough space. She told me my dress would be ready to pick up in one week. The price for my alteration was a little more than I anticipated ($18), but the work done was flawless. It looked like that's how it would have appeared straight off the rack and fit perfectly!

Avoid this place at any cost! The 5 star reviews are fabricated…read more Rude, over-prices and your favorite piece of cloth will be ruined too Got my shirt and shirt dry cleaned. The lady charged me extra saying it has stains for the shorts. I got back both after a week(they are very slow) and the shorts had the "stains" she charged me extra for. I asked the shorts were even cleaned, she gave a rude reply and said we will re-do it. Took after 5 days to get my shorts. I got them right now, nothing much changed. Since I already paid, the Asian lady didn't care . She said it is no guarantee that we will clean it. Shouldn't they change the name to something else but cleaners? They don't care if they mess your expensive clothes and do nothing about it. I should have instead bought an expensive cleaner and washed in the coin based laundromat.

I'll let you debate if it's worth the price…read more. $27 for 1 suit pants, 1 tie, and 1 suit jacket. 3 pieces. Outrageous for dry cleaning. (The reason for -1 star) The reason for 4 stars is because they told me this price when I dropped it off, and because I was pressed for time and this is the only one in the area with good reviews, I went with them. Also, they got all 3 pieces done in the time they said they would. And they made my suit that was covered with weird stains look like new. You debate if it's worth the price. This is one of the few decently reviewed places in the area surrounding Lowell, so I went to it instead of others actually in the city. I'm probably gonna go somewhere else for half the price, I just have to find one that has good reviews first.

I bought a pair of Madewell jeans that fit me like a glove, but after a few weeks they began to stretch. I needed the waist taken in just an inch or two for the perfect fit. I haven't fallen in love with a tailor yet in Boston, so when I found Hanover dry cleaners on yelp, I had no idea what I was in for. Turns out Hanover Dry Cleaners is a place full of experts who truly care about you & your clothing. The owner is a phenomenal seamstress and she encouraged me to try on the jeans so she could mark them. She is kind and patient and so smiley, it's a joy walking into the store. I anxiously waited a week for the jeans to be ready (a busy dry cleaning season I think) and when I picked them up today, they were tailored perfectly to my waist size! You could not tell they were tailored at all. And all for the fantastic price of $15. I will 100% be bringing any and all articles of clothing to Hanover Dry Cleaners for my tailoring needs! I echo the other reviewers when they say she takes longer than she quotes. I dropped them off 9 days ago with a week quote; came one week later and they were not done. Was told to come the following day, but I didn't end up coming until today (day 9). They actually weren't totally ready when I walked in; she had to finish them up which only took 5 minutes, but just be aware she will take her time. I'd rather a seamstress be methodical and thorough than speedy and sloppy!

The guy is REALLY GOOD AND KNOWS HIS CRAFT BUT and it's a huge but so read later…read more I had my dress shirts and a few other things done at his place for about 3 years. Dry cleaning was cheap, I believe he beat the competition back then, and the work quality was good! He actually subcontracted to a guy who did it for him in bulk. But as people shifted to more casual dressing at work, that contactor stopped due to lack of volume. That was around 2019 more or less. So the guy just couldn't do it at the same price, nor the same pace and he didn't have the same tools to maintain the same quality. I went to someone else to get my shirts done. But for other stuff, I'd still rely on him. Haven't had any business at his place since about mid 2019. In all my years, he only messed up once while cleaning a pant. Luckily it was an old pant with zero value. I think it was just that his machine was too old. The real and biggest problem was that he progressively started to become more and more unpredictable with his official store opening hours. YOu'd stop by when he was suppsoed to be open and it would be closed. You'd need to call him to make sure he was there to pick up. And as time passes by, he would not finish the job by the promised date. It wasn't a big deal for me, but I can understand that it's an issue for others. Feels like he didn't care much about the business anymore... I don't know if he's still in business or retired, I often see the shop closed when I drive by. I'm hoping he still working. I'd rely on him for things that require high skills because he does know really his stuff, especially when it comes to old or forgotten tailor techniques. But for things where time is the essence, I would not rely on him.
