I came in for a routine dental cleaning on 10/12/2024 and was told I needed some work done. I…read morescheduled the repairs, which included a crown for a leaking filling on tooth 30, previously done at this office. However, Dr. Alford did not explain any additional issues or treatments that might be necessary. I trusted her to address only the immediate repairs. During a follow-up appointment on 11/13, I had work done on teeth 2, 14, 15, and the crown on tooth 30. Dr. Alford mentioned a possible root canal for tooth 14, which I later had on 11/20. Despite this, I continued to experience pain in teeth 2 and 15. After seeking a second opinion from another dentist, I learned both teeth were cracked and required crowns. I ended up having four crowns and a root canal, all stemming from what began as a simple check-up. What frustrates me most is that nothing was mentioned about the cracked teeth during any of my appointments, and I was left in pain for months. When I called Mitchell Dental Clinic to discuss a refund, I was told I hadn't been there since 2020, though I have a ledger showing otherwise. I also had a gap in visits due to COVID but returned as soon as dental offices reopened. Dr. Alford cracked two of my teeth and refuses to take responsibility or offer a refund. Now, I'm forced to pursue legal action. I want to warn others because, after researching, I found this to be a recurring issue at this office. This has been a very frustrating and costly experience.

Very aggressive during procedure. Forceful and jerking my mouth around being rough with tools. This…read moreleft me extremely sore and once the numbness wore off the most excruciating oral pain of my life and ive had a few bad one, including this tooth taking that title before the procedure but this hurt even worse by milestones. I called them at 8 am on the dot, as the pain started after they closed kept me awake all night and was still super extreme i needed help asap. When i got some one they offered to call me in 800 mg ibu which i explained i already had some of those and had taken one 2 hours prior and was also over my 24 hour limit on those. They called the doctor back and then called me back and told me they were calling me in something, i went to go wait at the pharmacy but they never got the order because the dentist never sent it despite claiming they did. so i call them back and they tell me they need dr alford to approve it but he is with a patient now, kept saying he but website list alford as a woman, not sure what my dentist name was because they switched up on me last min, so that was a bit confusing. But they said i had to wait for something they already said they did clearly showing me im not a priority and my pain means nothing. I called back a few more times asking for updates begging for urgency at which point the staff manager jessica began to try to feed me lie after lie she told me my script was called in already it wasnt, she told me the doctor was still deciding if this was really necessary, after things got nasty because i stood up for myself she lied again saying she personally called me in tramadol, this was not the case I had to call another office and they finally called me some stronger NSAID which did nothing to help and they knew it wouldnt at that point. I cant wait to see this clinic go out of business. I will personally be filing a malpractice lawsuit so I will do my part to help them go under. Disgusting staff, trashy business, ethnically challenged

I came to this office after switching employer insurance. If you're considering this dentist, I…read morestrongly recommend doing thorough research beforehand--I wish I had. Initially, I had a positive experience. They had plenty of availability and got me in quickly. At my first visit for a consult and cleaning, they offered to fix a cavity on the spot, which I appreciated. However, after completing their treatment plan, I began experiencing pain and discomfort in one of the fillings they had done. I returned to have it adjusted, but two months later, the same filling broke while I was eating. When I went back in pain, they informed me that the tooth was fractured and would likely need a root canal. Instead of addressing the infection risk, they decided to place a crown first to see if a root canal could be avoided. They put on a temporary crown but did not prescribe antibiotics. Within 48 hours, I developed an abscess that spread up my gumline, landing me in the ER for emergency oral surgery to remove the tooth. I sincerely believe the staff are good people, but I didn't feel the level of care was as intentional as it should have been. At the very least, prescribing antibiotics could have prevented my infection from worsening, saving me unnecessary pain and medical expenses. Now, I've spent $500 on a crown I can't use, plus the cost of an ER visit, emergency surgery, and post-op care. If you can avoid coming here, I strongly recommend doing so. If you're someone they choose to prioritize, you might have a better experience--but unfortunately, that wasn't the case for me.

I have debated this review for years but I went here years ago. Was told by Dr. Sledge that I had 6…read morecavities and I have never had one in my life. Trusted it and got three filled. Then I went to Dr. Carter because Dr. Sledge was booked and he said I had no cavities. Went back to Dr. Sledge and she said I had to get the others taken care of. Switched to a completely different dentist and they said I had no cavities. I trusted her and paid all that money just to have teeth ruined for no reason. ALWAYS get a second opinion.
