Very skilled and responsive upholsterer…read more I found Top-stitch from a recommendation from a friend of mine. I needed some cushions for two custom lounge chairs. Steve was easy to deal with and helped inform me about different options for foams, fabrics, and techniques I could choose from. He was even willing to create some test pieces out to help me finalize my idea. Steve worked with my rather tight timeline and delivered the cushions on time and at a fair price. I'd be happy to hire him again.

Their craftsmanship and design expertise have always been exceptional -- no question there. Earlier this year, while cleaning out my home office files, I came across documentation from a project dating back six years -- one that had never been fulfilled. To be completely transparent, I had forgotten about it until now. I reached out to request a $200 refund for the uncompleted work. Despite providing clear documentation and context, my request was handled dismissively. It's disappointing that after years of loyal business, The Drapery House refused to honor such a simple, good-faith request. It makes it clear they do not value long-term customers. It's also worth noting that The Drapery House is not BBB accredited, which may help explain the lack of accountability we experienced. It's a shame when a company known for quality undermines its reputation over something so small. I'd be glad to share the full email correspondence with The Drapery House to anyone interested in understanding the experience in detail.

The owner explained that he was very busy and it might take a few weeks before he could get working on my things. I very nicely said that would be fine and that I wasn't in a rush for them and that he could take his time. A few weeks later I received a phone call saying my items were finished, this was a Friday afternoon. The very next day on Saturday morning I called and got the voice mail which is constant with this place. I left a message stating I could pick up my things any time that day. I didn't hear back so I tried calling several more times and finally gave up. I have 2 jobs so trying to do things during the week is hard for me. So I figured I'd try and stop by his shop the following Saturday but before I had a chance to,during that same week I received the nastiest phone call I'd ever received by someone I did business with I'd only met once, now mind you it was pouring rain that day and I was just leaving for work when he calls and demands I come get my items and was screaming at me that I couldn't leave them at his shop any longer! I was so shocked at his outburst and rudeness I didn't know what to say and he demands I come get my things and give him his money that I owe him and then he hung up on me! My husband saw how upset I was and when I told him what happened he was fuming and said Call that jerk back and tell him I'll be there in 10 minutes and he better have your things ready ,let's see if he has anything to say to me! My husband said when he saw me get out of the car he was as nice as pie! That was my first and thank God my last experience with this buisness! And he was VERY expensive as well. I had a couple of wicker baskets and 2 tiny end tables and it cost me almost five hundred dollars! He lost out on a good returning customer as I had bigger pieces that I took elsewhere including a dining room table.

Second,I don't know where you shop for new furniture? Bob's...Chariho...Jordan's??? Ok, so maybe I wasn't clear on what I was looking to spend but wouldn't you think that a business owner what say something like "can you tell me a little bit more about the chairs, what is your price range, here's what our services typically cost" or something a little more customer friendly??? I couldn't believe the response. As a business owner myself, I would never respond to an email inquiry with such a bad attitude. So future customers of Sew Many Things, be forewarned. Needless to say, I will be seeking my services elsewhere.
