Caitlin and the staff at Bristle are all top notch professionals. I typically shy away from the female only vibe from salons but everyone at Bristle always nice and outgoing and it makes for a great environment . Caitlin has been cutting my hair for over a year now and I love being to able to just go to her and let her do what she thinks best and trust that she is going to do an amazing job. read more

Had an amazing hair cut from the owner Deanne. She really took the time to listen to what I wanted and give me a great style. I think I look ten years younger read more

I went to Bristle after reading about it on Yelp and the reviews were right. Sheri was great! I came in with a few pictures of what I was looking for in terms of color/partial highlights and she was able to do exactly what I had wanted. My hair color turned out perfectly and she was very attentive while listening to me describe what I was looking for. She made honest suggestions about the cut and didn't try to push me to do anything I didn't want. I am very happy with the results and will go back again when it comes time for a touch-up and cut. read more

Sheri is unbelievable!!! She made me look A-MA-ZING!!! Love her! Go see her! She is wonderful!!!! read more

Bristle Salon - Love sheri!!! She is amazing!!! - Hair Salons Near Me - Encinitas, California

This was my first time getting a Brazilian waxing & Marilyn made my experience SO so comfortable!! I will definitely be going back! She did an amazing job & I can tell she really cares about what she's doing. It hurt a little bit not nearly as much as I though. Marilyn talked to me the whole way through it kind of distracting me from what was going on! Found out from a groupon & so happy I did it!! Thank you Marilyn read more

Claire is amazing!! My eyebrows had very little shape and were way too thin until I started seeing her. She completely fixed them and made them look incredible. I love how they look and that she makes the waxing process so painless. She gives great arm and bikini waxes also :) read more

Caitlin is my girl! She is so good, fast and affordable! I am a blonde and knows exactly how to do my highlights natural and long lasting. She also cuts my husbands hair and he loves her. Well not like that :) read more

I love Sheri! When I moved to Encinitas, I tried another salon and my hair turned out yellow. Yuck! I was desperate to find a good hairdresser so I looked on yelp. Everyone raved about Sheri so I gave her a try. Not only did she do my hair exactly how I wanted (and better), she genuinely cares about her clients. Sheri makes you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in and is one of the most easy going people I have ever met. She is also very quick to respond and schedule appointments. She is just a great person! The salon is great too - cute salon and everyone there is so nice. I wanted to make sure to leave a good review since this is where I was lucky enough to find Sheri and am so glad I did! read more

I can only rave about my hairdresser, Caitlin. I am an extremely picky & difficult customer. I have blonde highlites & lowlites. Caitlin is excellent with both color & cuts. She listens to what I want, gives me her opinion & I leave the salon a very satisfied & happy customer. She keeps my hair looking beautifully natural & blonde!! The salon also uses excellent products. Thanks, Caitlin read more

This review is for Marilyn, who was brought to me by the grace of god through a Groupon. The Groupon deal is an unbelievably good value on its own but after experiencing Marilyn's waxing skills, I thought it was a goddamn steal. $44 for 3 sugaring Brazilians ($14.67 each). I've tried 10~ other waxing places and Marilyn is definitely the most THOROUGH I've ever been to, along with being quite personable and accommodating. The salon itself is super cute and her room in the back is well-decorated. The original price of her Brazilian sugaring is $40 (cheap already compared to other sugaring services which are not as thorough) and she gives a student discount price of $30. SO WORTH THE PRICE. First she does a quick, efficient wax, then takes tweezers and takes care of any stragglers/ingrowns, and afterwards puts on some after-care solution. I'm prone to ingrowns and Marilyn is a freakin pro at making them come out. I've seriously never seen anyone as good as her when it comes to this aspect. She gives me great info on after-care, battling ingrowns, and even directed me to an awesome thrift shop for Halloween costumes. So awesome! I've made appointments with her by both phone and text, and while she doesn't always pick up, she does always responds to my voicemails by giving me a text/call back. Don't be afraid to leave her a voicemail if you miss her! She will definitely listen to it and get back to you. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH HER NOW. read more

I've have had great experiences with Caitlin at Bristle. I love how she transformed my blah color to something really special that really compliments my features. I have had two great cuts and styles from her as well. Each time I've called for an appointment they have been very accommodating. Thanks for the great service all around. read more

I love Bristle Salon. Everyone is friendly, helpful, nice and on time. I've always been very happy with my haircuts and highlights!

I've lived in San Diego for a little over 3 years and it took me a while to find a good stylist. I'm from the east coast and they are a dime a dozen back east but definitely not in San Diego! I was referred to Lonnaye by an ex coworker and have loved her from the start! She does a great job with my cut and color- I'm never disappointed. She knows how much I love a nice volume blow out and always goes the extra mile for me. I see her every 4 weeks religiously and don't plan on ever leaving! My fiancé also sees her every 2 weeks for his hair cuts and I pretty much got him hooked :) She's not only a great stylist but she is such a sweetheart- always so fun to talk to! If you're looking for a stylist she's the one! -Raquel P. read more

I go to Deanne for my hair and she is amazing. She does color like no one I have every been to before. I always look like a movie star when I leave her chair. Not only do they have wonderful stylists there, but they also have an amazing Esthetician.Marilyn is wonderful. I had my first full wax and it was virtually painless. Marilyn uses sugaring and she took all the trauma out of the experience. She is also having a sale the month of December half off Bikini waxes/Brazilian. I would recommend this salon to all my friends and family, go see them today!. read more

Loved this salon! Needed a haircut and didn't have a salon that I knew of, as I just moved to the area. Found Bristle online, they got me in on the day I called, and I am MORE than happy with my haircut! Sheri was fantastic! AND their prices are very competitive. I'll be going back! read more

I have been going to Bristle for about a year now. I followed my stylist Sheri O. to this salon and what a great place. I can't say enough good things about her. She listens and cares about what you want and makes sure you are happy with the results. My husband, daughter, and son all go to her now. The salon is very clean and friendly. Totally down to earth and i feel comfortable just relaxing and talking while she does her magic on my hair. read more

I came in asking for an ombre color. When I left, my hair really didn't look like I had ombre color, just mainly one overall color. I went home hopeful that the color on the ends would wash out over time and exposing ends that would be lighter than the middle and roots area of my hair but that never happened. $150 down the drain... read more

I ran into a friend who had a fabulous haircut - never saw her looking better. She told me she had gone to Olivia at Bristle Salon. So I called up and made an appointment! I was not disappointed. Olivia was fun to talk to, very sweet, and spent a good amount of time before starting to find out what I wanted. She was even able to give me some suggestions (since I never know exactly what I want for my hair.) I walked out super happy with my new look and a business card of Olivia's in my pocket so I can be sure to go back again and again. read more

Love, love, love this salon! Sheri, my fave hairstylist ever, has been cutting and coloring my hair for nearly 5 years now. She has always taken the time to truly listen to what I'm hoping for and always delivers spot on. My hair is a unique blend of curly/frizzy but fine, and it's beginning to gray. I always leave feeling fresh and sassy! :) The salon itself is neat, clean and has a very comfortable, relaxed, easy & welcoming vibe to it. Their prices are reasonable and IMHO - it's the best salon in town. Oh... and they have the most darling jewelry for sale at super great prices so I always end up buying a fun new pair of earrings each time I visit. Bristle rocks! :) read more

I went in for partial highlights and and cut today and explained to the very nice stylist that I wanted some natural highlight and about an inch taken off my hair. I had highlights in the past and really loved them. I guess we must have had different ideas of what natural is, because I ended up with bleached zebra stripes throughout my brown hair. The outcome wasn't even close to natural for my hair color or skin type. The owner was very nice about it and sent me home with dye that was supposed to calm down the highlights and bring them down to my natural color, which didn't work as I still have bleached streaks thoughout my hair. Everyone was very nice about and the owner offered to fix my hair next week, but I just can't go a week with hair looking like this. I don't think I would be this upset if I didn't have engagement photos coming up in the next few weeks. Although everyone is very nice at the salon, I don't recommend this salon. read more

Marilyn is the best at Brazililan waxes. She was honest with me that it was going to hurt since it was my first time ever waxing. She was patient and caring with me. She'd distract me and make me breathe when she was going to pull. She made the experience as relaxed as she could plus she made me feel comfortable. Thank you Marilyn and I'll see you soon :) :) read more

Found Marilyn via Groupon and so glad I did. Was nervous about sugaring but she is a pro and makes you at ease the whole process. Her facials are fantastic! Give her a try! read more

Relaxing but fun salon, and Sheri is GREAT. I have tried different stylists over the years and have often been frustrated when it felt like they didn't really listen to me when I told them what I wanted. Sheri was recommended to me last year and I have loved her from the very first haircut! She really hears what I want and then makes it happen, and I love my haircut every single time. She is happy to chat but doesn't talk your ear off - she's the perfect balance. She seriously rules and I am hooked. Plus, it's just a great little salon. I love it! read more

Caitlin is amazing! Thank you for the great haircut!

Just the best! Claire is phenomenal... Waxings, facials, the best! Nice vibe!

I just got my hair cut today for the first time by Sheri. She did a wonderful job. She was very sweet and truly listened to what I wanted with my hair. I will be continuing to go to her. I got an appointment for the next day. I love this place. I used to go to super cuts, but I would much rather spend the money on a someone who knows what they are doing. I will be recommending her to my friends. read more

I have been a long time client of Kristen at Bristle Salon. The salon is fabulously decorated, warm and inviting. Not only is Kristen an expect colorist, she gives the best head and neck massages during my wash and condition. She knows my hair and gives exceptional hair-love. Additionally, Bristle is a one stop shop and has an array of gifts to purchase; such as beautiful scarfs, ear rings, necklaces, rings, hair accessories and of course hair products for gifting or to treat yourself. Thank you Kristen and Bristle Salon for helping me stay and feel beautiful. You're awesome!!! read more

Marilyn is so sweet. I've started Brazilian sugaring with her & I can absolutely tell a difference from waxing. I'll keep going back! She's quick, thorough & the results are awesome. If you're looking for sugaring the prices are great too! Plus it's very clean & a good atmosphere. read more

I don't usually write reviews for places -- I like to think that I'm easy going -- but I was so disappointed with my hair appointment that I feel it deserves a review. I used a groupon for my visit which was to included a haircut with a deep conditioning. Seemed like a good deal. Only, I'm not sure I received any kind of deep conditioning; it seemed like a normal wash and condition to me, nothing special at all. I expected a deep conditioning to require at least a few minutes to sink in. Then the haircut. I asked for a trim and that's what I got. The trim looks fine but my problem with it was that I think she spent a total of 5 minutes trimming my thick hair. Honestly, I thought that maybe it was just an initial trim and she'd go back and section it off to trim it. Nope. She was done. I think I could have handed my husband scissors and he'd do the same thing. I was in and out in 30 minutes which is less time than it takes me to wash and dry my own hair at home. Just a waste of my money, honestly. read more
