Beware of Brinson Chevrolet. In September of 2024 I purchased a brand-new Chevy 2500 diesel truck. Brinson was pretty much the only local dealer that had a truck in stock close to what I wanted. After 3 hours in dealership while they checked my trade and we agreed on price they came out with contract and added in two protection plans from Portfolio for theft and Glass that totaled $1,399. I told them I did not want it but the salesman Michael and Finance manager Presley said every car they sell comes with this package and I must purchase it or they won't sell me the truck. I was going on vacation and needed the truck so I bought it instead of waiting to hunt for another truck so yes I bought the plan because if I did not they would not sell but in hindsight I should have walked away I was given a small photo copy of a brochure saying they will fix or replace for free. I reluctantly agreed because the truck was marked down about $3,000 and I probably will go through a few windshields during the course of the plan, right? Well, a rock finally hit the windshield and they said they will try and repair and if it does not work, they will replace. The repair did not work. I said ok. Well, it looks the same as it did and far as I am concerned it did not work. In fact, there is a chip out of windshield you can feel when you run your fingernail across it deep enough to file your fingernail. I asked for a new windshield and they said no. they can epoxy a crack or chip up to 2"?? this was not discussed or none of the information given stated that. I asked them to refund my money and they said no. I also asked them to look into their records and see that every car they sold in that time frame was sold with same warranty and Manager said he des not want to because he is afraid to find out. Only offer I was given was they will split the cost of a new windshield with me. The new GM Michael and the New service manager will not return my calls. I asked for a refund and they said no. I did inform them I was going to bring this to another level and escalate this with the owner and he said the owner said no to this. I would also like to comment when I bought the truck, they charged me for 2-year registration and only gave me 1 year sticker and that took me 4 phone calls to get a check sent out for that!!! I am curious has anyone else been pressured by this dealership to by worthless protection plans they will not stand behind? If so, I would love to know and if we all complain something may get done. Brinson has lost all my future business and they do not stand behind what they sell also pics are not that good because it is real hard to take pics of a rock chip. pics are after repair was done. read more

Did not fix the problem it was taken in for. Code P0299. They said it was fixed and we picked it up. Less than 2 miles from the shop light comes on again. They said the turbo was fine when it left and now it is out. These guys do not have any idea how to diagnose or repair problems. Since we picked it up to take it somewhere else. Their sales force is not about supporting their sale. They have zero loaner cars if your car needs warranty work you will be afoot until they get the parts. These days that can be months and not days. So if you are buying a new car and it will be your only car, get it somewhere that supports their service department. read more

They are friendly but my dad feels I get taken advantage of because of my lack of vehicle knowledge and not speaking up. This is the 2nd time I've gone in for an oil change and tire rotation and my tires weren't rotated. I wouldn't have even known if it weren't for my dad. I have one tire that is not the same as the others, it's been in the same spot for the last 2 visits. This last visit, I'm told the truck is ready and get ready to pay when I am slyly told "and oh by the way we couldn't do a tire change because we couldn't find the tire lock". I then tell them that they are the only and the last people to have serviced my vehicle. So if it's not in the truck it's because y'all didn't put it back during the last visit. She tells to me to go look and if I can't find it then they will order and pay for another. I go out to the vehicle and find it in the glove box under my insurance/car papers where it typically would be. I bring it back to her and she says well we aren't allowed to "rummage through customers belongings we will make sure to do it next time". I've been going there almost 2 years I've never had them say they couldn't find it or couldn't "rummage". All they had to do was move the insurance/car documents. I'm not sure if it was just an honest mistake or laziness. I'm erring on laziness as they didn't bother to do the rotation the previous service either. I feel if they are charging me for it, it should be completed. I will be marking/checking my tires from now on to make sure they are being rotated. This experience also made me think I should be checking to make sure they put my tire key/lock back. (She was getting ready to quote me for one until I said y'all are the only dealership that works on my vehicle-I have all my receipts and I know you can look up my service history.) read more

We came to the dealership on January 22, 2022 and wanted a key made after being told on the phone that business was open until 6pm We stated we wanted a key made so we arrived between 3:30 and 4:00 pm The man behind the back counter wore glasses had light colored hair and was abut 5 ft 10-5ft 11. He told us it was too late to get a key made But when asked the cost he said 56 dollars and we both heard him so we made an appointment for Friday morning the 28th of Jan at 9:30 am which we ourselves had to change for Thursday the 3rd of February but of course because of the ice, we rescheduled for today Thursday the 10th at 3 p.m. We have just been charged 250.85 for the key and 145 of that is for labor and it is not even a key fob type key. When confronted the Croyx Lowrance (name on our paperwork) said even a key is 86 dollars and because we don't have the name of the man we talked to on the 22nd everyone acted like we just made it up. Now we are both Senior Citizens and are long past "making things up" We had the ability to pay it was just that we were TOLD another price and then everyone acting like I was the one being stupid and a bitch for questioning the cost and my husband who actually was being quiet but he is usually the one to really make a problem when we are done like this was very upset. Edwin who did not tell us he was the Mgr told us he was going to talk to someone about it then walked away. HE also said if we gave a bad review it would only hurt the man helping us today. Well, we are giving a bad review and speaking to church members, our club members, our fellow veterans and co workers since we both still work part time and of course there is always face book etc. It is not a reflection on Mr. Lowrance but rather a reflection on the entire dealership which we were planning on using for our chev colorado for service since we just bought it and would like a local dealership. NOT now though and we will strongly advise others the same. The really bad part is that I repeated 56 dollars? to the gentleman twice and you surely know who was working the "back desk" between 3:30 and 4:30 on the 22nd of January. I bought my 2017 Chevy Z 71 at Kauffman Chevrolet about two years ago. I took it back three times for it shifting really hard because of the transmission. The only thing they wanted to do is reprogram it and even the General manager drove it and said that's just the way they shift. They really didn't offer any solutions at all. I took my vehicle to Peltier in Tyler and they replaced a cracked converter and some other parts. Guess who will be getting my business. Southwest does not know anything about the service end. Buyer beware. This dealer will mark the vehicles down to get you in the door. I had a deal from another reputable dealer that got sold by fleet and found a Sliverado LT I liked here at Brinson Chevrolet that was discounted. They ask to see what the other dealer provided based on trade and guess what, they magically reduced the trade value by the amount they discounted the vehicle. Brinson of Kaufman. We feel we been stolen from. Traded in a Ford explore for a Chevy 1500. Could not take possession of the truck because it had issues and was being repaired he told us it would take just a few minutes we sat at the location until 645 then the sales person finally came out and told us that the service department closed 45 minutes ago and he would call us when the vehicle is ready he will put us in a loaner vehicle. Which turned into three days. When taken possession of the vehicle it literally died as we're pulling into the gas station because it had zero fuel in it. The vehicle was supposed to come with two keys when I asked about the second keys they wanted me to pay 200 and some dollars and the gentleman in parts got an attitude with me when I advised him that I would not be paying for the second set of keys. The we come to find out through the finance company they added several thousands of dollars to what we originally agreed upon. When we confronted them they apologized and said they would send a check to the finance company to make it right. Now we are paying interest on money we never borrowed. They also found my wife wedding bands in the car two sets and claim they threw them away. We are still waiting on the repair of the bed that was agreed-upon which will probably not happen. This has absolutely been one of the worst experiences with a dealership. I will never use anything related to Brinson motors. And I would recommend anyone to stay away from this dealership or company as it is clear that they are very untrustworthy and do shady practices. read more

I will not be returning to this facility for auto services. The staff's customer service was appalling especially this large man they now have there that I don't know his name. There used to be a better person at the front that was attentive and caring towards your needs. They did basic maintenance on my Camaro and didn't even bother resetting the oil indicator or fill me in on what they did. Horrible customer service, I live in Dallas and was willing to make the drive there because I loved the experience not anymore. Avoid this place if you can. read more

We purchased a used 2012 Cadillac SRX on 11-6-19 and had good experience with our salesman Todd Archer at the Kaufman location. I can not say the same for the service department! When we bout the vehicle we were provided with a CarFax which states on 10-21-19 the oil was changed along with new wipers, cabin filter, air filter and a state inspection/emissions was preformed. After getting the car home I checked the oil and noticed it was low on oil and by the tint of the oil it was not changed and observed a oil leak on the front side of the motor. We also noticed a smell when you turned the ac on so I checked the cabin filter and it was so dirty it was twice the weight of the new filter I purchased on amazon. On 11-13-19 we get a call from our salesman asking us to bring the car back in to get the state inspection done on the vehicle so I pointed out what the CarFax stated the inspection was already done. He advised there machine was down on that day so it never got inspected. My wife then took the car back to them to get a oil change, look for the oil leak and the state inspection. She was there over 2.5 hours waiting and when she got the car back there was grease hand prints on the interior trim. They told her they could not find a oil leak but if you look at my pictures you can obviously see it. After she arrived home I checked the oil and was nearly a quart to full. I attempted to contact the service manager John Boidy but did not answer or return my message. I then tried to reach out to one of the store managers Andrew Beck but was given the run around of where he was and was transferred to 2 different extension voicemails and not received a call back. I am so dissatisfied with this place I will not step foot back on there property for anything! Including my 6 free oil changes I have left! They also charged my wife 200.00 more dollars on the final price and when I caught it he said it was his mistake. So make sure your checking your numbers if you buy here. read more
