This review is for the Seven Sacred Pools Via Soldier Pass To Brins Mesa Loop (~5 miles, ~2.5 hours to complete). Parked and started from Brins Mesa Trailhead rather than Soldier Pass Trailhead. Dirt road to Brins Mesa Trailhead was a little rough; better with a higher clearance vehicle. Overall, there were some amazing views of Sedona. NOTE: AllTrails GPX route does NOT include the cave. We were somewhat disappointed that it wasn't part of the downloaded map. Short video of the hike for those interested: https://youtu.be/mZPDcljnHQ0

Wowza! Read reviews and glad that we listened to fellow hikers. This is a great hike with lots to see. Lots of straight up and then of course straight down - medium skill level. Different trails intersecting and very interesting views and landmarks. Don't miss the pools. Take water and a snack and enjoy a mesa picnic.

The trail is amazing, shocked there are hardly any reviews. It was a cool 60 degrees in early April and made for a pleasant hike up to some epic views. Hardly anyone else on the trail (it was around 8am). I preferred this hike over the Bell Rock one. Way less busy. When we left around 10am the parking lot was almost full.

Amazing the pictures say 1000 words. Flat with a little stair step out and back trail. Connect it to Soldiers pass, Cibolia Pass to make about a 9 mile loop. This is a 4-5 hour loop there is enough elevation and rocky trail and pictures to take to slow you down. SLOW DOWN RELAX!

Loved this hike! The first mile is mellow and the second you work your way up to an amazing view on both sides of the mountain! There's a large rock in the left to easily climb onto to improve your experience (recommend!). The parking lot is fairly large (there's a fee), as it leads to various other trails which should you choose to take them, connect at the top so you can come down a different trail. Parking down the road is free and probably available if you want.

We were looking for a quick hike, close to town, that didn't involve 4-wheel drive access. After a lot of research, we found Brins Mesa, and it was perfect! The view from the parking lot alone was everything I could have wanted from a hike in Sedona. The trailhead is located in the Jordan Park Subdivision, just North of Downtown Sedona. It couldn't be easier to access. If you don't have a Red Rocks pass, parking is $5. The fee can be paid using a machine located right next to the bathrooms. You can even pay by credit card - so easy! The hike itself is on the easy side of moderate. The hike to the top of the mesa is 1.5 miles, and then it is another .7 miles to the scenic overlook. You must do the hike to the overlook, that is where you get the really amazing views. Once you reach the top of the mesa, you take a right, and follow the path to the overlook. You will need to climb up a large rock formation to get the best views. I have read that the total elevation gain to this point is around 1000 ft. Since we were there during a rare January snow storm, we weren't able to do any of the big hikes in Sedona. After hiking the Brins Mesa trail, I didn't want for anything more. It was spectacular!

This is a great hike if you start at Brins Mesa and walk clockwise towards Soldiers Pass then loop north and back onto Brins Mesa. You'll have some amazing views and a stop at a sink hole and the seven sacred pools. I'd suggest that you arrive early since parking can be tough and drive to the end of the road but beware of deep holes in the ground that you'll have to navigate around.

The map that includes Soldier Pass.

This is a great easy hike/walk. This walk is more scenic than Soldier's pass. I recommend this walk if you want to enjoy scenic Sedona with family or friends.

Fun trail with beautiful scenic views of Sedona! It was a moderate hike with lots of stair type climbing. I would recommend.

This is the map. Be careful not to get on the dirt road and to stay on soldiers pass if you are doing the loop.

The sink hole and 7 pools are nice stops, but the cave is the highlight! From the end of the 4x4 trial the cave is a short 15-20 minute hike. We came during a busy season and the trailhead opens at 8 am and does get completely full. 10 minutes before the gate opens there was already a line of cars waiting to get in. They do have a shuttle at a parking lot about an hour away if it gets too busy. Because we didn't have water or food we were only out about a 3 hours and could have easily stayed for two more. The hike starts with stairs and handrails but quickly opens up into not clearly marked paths that feel like you are walking in nature and not on a path. You'll reach Devil's Kitchen quickly and the scale is much larger in person and har to capture via pictures. It's a sinkhole with no barriers around the edge so walk carefully. A lot of people come for the Seven Sacred Pools and if you come too early the lighting isn't that great. If you scramble down to the base of the pools you can walk the dry riverbed back to the trailhead for a different experience

An incredible and all-encompassing experience!…read more Yogi Blair is incredibly warm and welcoming with a very calm, soothing, and playful energy. He shared with us a wealth of knowledge and guided us through an incredibly beautiful, grounding, and healing experience. This was my first time in Sedona, and this experience is, by far, the favorite part of my whole trip. I booked a hike, yoga, & meditation excursion based on all these amazing reviews and the experience far exceeded my expectations. Yogi Blair was very communicative, prompt, and detailed with his responses about booking date/time, meeting time/location, and provided a lot of recommendations about other things to do and see in Sedona The beautiful hike was paired with an educational guide about the local geology, history, and lots of fun and informational tidbits. The yoga was grounding, the QiGong felt empowering, and the meditation with essential oils was calming. The entire afternoon was simply magical and I will carry everything I learned with me in my future practice. I highly recommend you include this experience with your visit!

I would HIGHLY recommend going to do Yoga in a Vortex in Sedona. I found the website and texted…read morethe number on a Wednesday to make sure they were doing an afternoon tour that coming Saturday. Yogi Blair texted me back right away and told me she would try to coordinate. By Friday morning she had us setup with a Yoga instructor/guide. We met our guide at the parking lot a little before 4pm on Saturday. We had the most amazing experience. We stopped in 3 different spots/vortexes. The first we did a small mediation. The second we did an offering to the land. And the third we setup our yoga mats and had the most amazing yoga/sound healing experience. I truly felt the energies from the land. We did the 2 hour tour and that was plenty for us, mostly yoga/mediation, just a little hiking, all amazing!!!

We hit Boynton Canyon Trail early. And I mean early enough that the air still had a chill to it and…read morethe light was just starting to spill over the rock. That's not a suggestion, it's the move. Give this place a head start on the day or it'll make you pay for it later. The trail opens gently, almost deceptively so. Wide path, easy footing, a kind of calm that makes you think you're in for a casual walk. Then the landscape starts to shift. The canyon walls rise, the color deepens, and the space narrows just enough to pull your attention forward. It's not a straight shot either. The trail has a rhythm to it. It bends, it reveals, it hides just enough to keep you moving. What stands out is how the environment changes as you go. You're not just walking toward a viewpoint. You're moving through layers. Open desert gives way to pockets of shade, then back out into sun where the red rock feels almost alive under that early light. The contrast is constant, and it keeps the whole thing interesting without needing anything artificial. We went as a group, mixed pace, different levels of enthusiasm, and it worked. Some pushed ahead, some took their time, but nobody felt like they were struggling to keep up or being held back. That's a rare balance. It's approachable without being boring, and it gives you just enough challenge to feel like you earned the views. And the views are worth it. There's a moment where the canyon really opens up, and you get that full Sedona effect. Towering formations, deep reds, shadows cutting across the rock in ways that change minute by minute. It's the kind of scene that makes people stop mid-conversation and just look. Phones come out for a second, then go right back into pockets because you realize it doesn't translate. Silence shows up out there in a way that's hard to find. Not total silence, but a kind of quiet that feels intact. Wind moving through, the occasional bird, footsteps on the trail. That's it. It clears your head whether you planned on it or not. By the time we were heading back, the temperature was climbing fast. That early start paid off. You could feel the shift, the desert reminding you who's in charge once the sun gets high. If you go later in the day, it's a different experience entirely, and not in a good way. A few practical things. Bring more water than you think you'll need. Wear real shoes. This isn't the place to test your balance in something flimsy. And pace yourself. It's not a race, and the trail is better when you let it unfold. There are a lot of hikes around Sedona that get attention, and for good reason. This one earns its spot. It's not just about the destination. It's the progression, the way the landscape pulls you in and keeps revealing itself piece by piece. Get there early, take your time, and let it speak for itself. Five stars without hesitation.
