Brinkstar Home Services is the greatest tree removal service in the Putnam County area, bar none. We had a poplar damaged by the May 15, 2018 tornado that tore through our neighborhood that we didn't discover at once. When we did discover it six weeks later, it was split both horizontally and vertically, and depending on which way a windstorm grabbed it could have fallen on our big storage shed, the big propane tank that powers the emergency generator, or onto the part of the house where the bedrooms are. We frantically called every tree service we could find, and got tepid responses. Then Valerie went on the Putnam Lake Neighborhood Facebook page and asked for recommendations. Andrew Brink at Brinkstar came highly recommended by our Put Lake neighbors. I called him on a Saturday (like the other tree companies, he's working seven days a week to deal with the aftermath of that tornado) and explained the problem. He came out on Sunday, looked it over, and declared that this tree was a genuine emergency, that it could come down any time, and needed to be taken down at once. He rearranged his work schedule, bumping a routine tree-dropping to later in the week, and came out with his associate Anderson. The tree's incline had worsened just in the 48 hours since he'd agreed to come. However, he and Anderson set up with the bucket truck, guyed the tree off to two other trees to stabilize it, frapped the trunk at the point of greatest stress to steady it further, and then took it down a bit at a time. That tree was massively unstable and could have broken and fallen at any time, but Brinkstar made removing it look easy, even though Andrew told me after it was all over that this tree was one of the most challenging and dangerous trees he had ever taken down. Once it was down, they cleaned up the wood and the slash and trucked it all off the property, leaving things as clean and tidy as is possible in this kind of work. The Brinkstar team is totally professional. If you need to have a tree removed on your property, call them for a quote on the work first. A large tree partially came down in my yard during the Nor'easters. Called Andrew and he came out the same day to give me an estimate. This was a tough job, as the tree was hanging directly over a large rock wall, and the tree couldn't be simply dropped down. Andrew showed up on the date we had set and he went to work (even though it was raining). He managed to gently lower the tree without damaging the rock wall and cut / stack the large pieces. On top of it all, there's a substantial hill in my yard that Andrew had to carry the logs/branches up, which was no small task. A large storm in my area caused significant damage to my property which included a tree dangling perilously close to striking my home. I spoke with the Brinkstar team and they quickly arranged to come through and assist with the cleanup and removal. Their team is professional and worked quickly, safely, and were careful not to damage the surviving surrounding property during their work. They were even kind enough to help repair a rock wall that had collapsed due to the damage. We had a HUGE tree in the front of our house & offer that tornado ripped apart new Fairfeild this spring we were VERY lucky this tree didn't smash our whole house! Andrew came out & have us an awesome quote for tree removal and was here within a week!!
