We had drywall that needed to be repaired in our main hallway along the floor area as well as along the ceiling, and behind the washer and dryer after a water leak. To make things more difficult, the plumber had left some of the new piping sticking out farther than it should have, which made replacing the drywall a challenge. Kevin did an amazing job working around it and carefully shaping everything so that you can't even tell there was an issue. The finished work looks great! His pricing was also VERY fair compared to other contractors we've used in the past, especially for the quality of his work. The owner of JDR Contracting, Jeff Roche, recently completed a bathroom remodel for me including…read moretotal replacement of the shower and vanity. The work was completed successfully, but I feel compiled to warn prospective JDR clients of two situations. The first is a suggestion you cover in detail the tasks you want them to complete as part of the job. Their bid to me included removing a large, wall-mounted vanity mirror and I assumed they would repair the minor wall damage that ensued. They refused, so I ended up doing it myself. The second, more significant issue I encountered is that my final invoice included sales taxes of nearly $500. According to Arizona statutes and tax guidelines, however, sales taxes are not paid on materials used in basic, MRRA remodeling projects. When I complained to Jeff, he immediately took the charge off with no effort to defend the charge. If you're a future or past client of JRD, check your invoice. If you are/were charged sales taxes on items purchased by your contractor for your MRRA remodeling project, ask for that charge to be removed. The positive news is my new vanity and shower are wonderful. I have no problem with the quality of work or materials completed by JDR.

Our 1950's house is about half plaster and half sheet rock, but he did a great job with all of it. Our house is in the hills, and we had a major remodel done a few years back, which resulted in cracks appearing in the walls and ceilings over the last 17 years that we've lived in the house. Elvis did an amazing job of fixing ALL of it, and he took incredible pride in his work. There was a stairwell that had some odd patching that had been done to it over the years, and I told him it was OK to just repair the cracks and move on, since it was just a stairwell. He thought about it for a while, and said that he could level the entire stairwell (without extra charge), and make it look a lot better. And he was absolutely right - we were so pleasantly surprised by the results. On top of it all, Elvis is a really great guy. I can't imagine how you could possibly find anyone better for your sheet rocking, taping, and repair needs.
