My experience with Dr. Bahrani & her staff at Brilliant Endodontics is nothing but positive. The entire team from receptionist to billing to dental assistants, procedure staff, and Dr. Bahrani are courteous, empathetic, and knowledgeable. My wife and I both had unplanned endodontic issues arise within two months of each other and experienced similar experiences with this practice. With my wife's experience, which was more severe from the dental perspective, Dr. Bahrani, adjusted her schedule to get her treated same day because of the significance of the issue. What I appreciate about Dr. Bahrani is her concern in my case was my significant and complex medical issues that exist before my dental issues. She gathered all the required information from other providers to provide the best possible solution for procedure anesthesia given limitations based on my medical conditions. I have heard from friends and family the horror stories of root canals and the pain and suffering from other endodontists. Dr. Bahrani's empathy in every step of the process from beginning to end was extraordinary if I had slightest wince she would not proceed until I was completely numb and comfortable. I had soreness but that is expected and that lasted less than 24 hours. The billing aspect is exceptional as well. Her staff, appropriately, bills for the services at the time of service because dental insurance is one of the most crazy and unique calculations, but within 24 hours of receiving the insurance payment credits you back with the difference. Additionally, I sincerely appreciate Dr. Bahrani and her staff doing the work of becoming a Delta Dental Premier provider which makes my life easier financially. Lastly, the ability to call, email, or text the practice with concerns is such an asset to get all things accomplished throughout the process is another helpful and beneficial aspect. I had a root canal performed here in 2021. Dr. Bahrani talked me into using the GentleWave that is suppose to clean/remove the root system better than the manual way. It was also an up charge and cost more. Procedure was quick and painless. After a few months I started having issues with the tooth. I went back in to be reevaluated but she said everything looked good and prescribed a round of antibiotic. I ended up losing a ton of weight due to my second round of antibiotics for this tooth. I again went back in for a second evaluation and she did a cone beam scan, charging me for it, and again said everything looked fine that maybe I had a fracture and I should have the tooth pulled. I have been having issues for years, unsure of what to do with the tooth, when I finally decide to have it retreated by a new dentist. Dr. Rogers, with Best Endodontics was able to find the issue. The GentleWave didn't even touch the root tip! He had to go in and clean all the root ends up! He spent significantly more time than the previous doctor. Please stay clear of GentleWave unless you want to be out a lot of money in the long run. read more

The office and team were professional and buttoned up around consult and collecting money and got me in right away for the pain post crown. They said they needed to test but immediately said root canal for $1500. Novacaine failed so when she went to drill I had ridiculous pain, so asked for more shots and was told it's just how it's going to be and need to work through it. Literally had to plead for another shot and yet again didn't work when she drilled - she would have kept going despite my agony until I got up and said no more if she couldn't control the pain. She appeared frustrated at first but then said of course don't want you to be in pain. Not the bedside manner I think anyone wants for a root canal. Disastrous experience and categorically don't recommend going there for anything. read more

I want to first start off with, I usually don't write reviews. I was completely turned off by this whole interaction. First, I arrive at the facility and was given a consent form for a mandatory billing at the end of the appointment for a CBCT for my daughter's tooth without even being seen. My consult would be covered by insurance, but that I had to have my 12 year-old daughter get a CBCT that was $275. When making this appointment I was not told about this mandatory Exam. I asked reception what scans would be done, as I had already had x-rays emailed to the facility. She told me that there would only be a CT. I reluctantly signed the consent and was going to continue with the consultation. When we were called back, I was then told that my daughter would go to the back to get her scans done. I again questioned what scans would be done, and was told that she would receive a CT and another set of x-rays. I again wanted to clarify that I was just told five minutes prior that she would only be getting a CT. I was then told that per office policy x-rays needed to be done for their own records and special X-rays that highlighted only the affected tooth would be completed . I again was hesitant but allowed for my daughter's mouth to be scanned. I was walked back into an exam room and questions were asked about the reason for our visit. I expressed my frustration with the lack of communication and different employees telling me multiple different procedures that my daughter would have to undergo. When the doctor came in, she was pleasant at first. She told me that she would get my daughter's tooth fixed, and that I can schedule an appointment to get it done after the one minute consultation. I then asked a question about the possibility of an implant needed, as I was told by the pediatric dentist that referred me , that that may have been a possibility. I know nothing about dentistry and so when I stated my question and the dental assistant that accompanied the doctor laughed as if I had asked a dumb question, I was even more thrown off. The doctor then started to speak to me as if I was a child. She was very condescending in her answer to me about why an implant would not be needed or necessary in this situation. I then questioned why my daughter needed to have multiple x-rays as well as a CT done on her. She condescendingly answered again, saying that this was a specialty facility and they needed to get an exam on the one tooth that needed repair. She began to explain the difference between x-ray and CT as if I had no idea what I was talking about. I work as a nurse myself and was well aware of the harm that can be done with radiation exposure which was why I kept questioning why she needed repeated exams. I at this point was completely appalled at the treatment that I had received. When walking out of the exam room with the doctor I then asked if I can get a copy of the CT images. She was very aggressive in replying "you can have whatever you want those are your exams". I then went to the reception area to pay the $275 and was asked by the office manager how my experience was. I was hesitant to answer her because I was so upset. She told me that she was wanting my honest opinion, and so I told her everything that had bothered me about this appointment and employees. Needless to say, I did not schedule for the procedure. I then called another facility who stated that they usually don't require CT mouth exams on children under the age of 18. This upset me even more because she was able to get the procedure done at another facility without the exposure to radiation. The office manager did apologize but I hope in hearing my honest review about the lack of communication to me and the treatment this provider gave me that this doesn't happened to anyone else. read more

The staff was all extremely nice and professional. Dr. Bahrani explained everything in sufficient detail. She was very clear and kind in her discussions and took her time with me. In the waiting room, there is a monitor with reruns of Seinfeld (with captions). The chairs where you get the work done are massaging chairs! Not deep tissue things but very relaxing (and you are asked if you want it turned off, another example of customer orientation). Also, in the treatment rooms, there is, again, a monitor with Seinfeld reruns with captions. This is a place that is both highly technically competent (as told to me by another dentist who should know) AND is very focused on the client and recognizes the client is the customer. Absolutely the best place to go to for root canals. I was so very nervous but Dr. Bahrani was wonderful and very professional. I was referred to her by my dentist and had 2 root canals done on two separate appointments. Her team made me feel at ease. They have Netflix playing, soft music and a massage chair. I have never gotten any dental work while getting a massage and it's not too hard. Just right. I haven't had any complications with my teeth after the procedures. I was very upset. Did not believe how bad my experience was. The doctor did tests on me to determine which tooth it was. I always thought that's what xrays were for. She froze my tooth and took a metal instrument to clang on it. I have a small mouth so they had to keep mouth open with some black plastic apparatice. Then she determined herself which tooth it was. Then she numbed me up. I was in the chair for at least 90 minutes. I asked for antibiotics but she gave me medrol dose pack instead. It should have been both. Then I ended up in the ER with a infected tooth and infected salivary gland. I was in excruciating pain and still no anibiotics so I went to the accute care and he gave me pain meds and antibiotics. I could not open my mouth to eat anything that was not mushy, such as baby food, pudding, yogurt etc., This went on for about 2 months, then the same tooth cracked and they said go to oral surgeon and get it pulled. Refereal doc I refused to go to. I waited until my dental insurance kicked in again in January to have it pulled by another oral surgeon. read more

Surprised to see the other reviews, but we had very unpleasant experience here. We went there after Dr. Yang's reference for redo the root canal and we had to spend ~$1000 for one tooth, but still unfixed. Finally they came up with some new crack in the tooth which was not there before even in the recent Xray or the CTscan. Now we have to extract the same tooth which they want us to go back to the previous dentist who referred us to here. Very unprofessionally they have not even informed us the cost of the procedure in advance especially when it was not covered in the insurance. They given estimate for something else and did some other procedure and billed me for that. Also they are added some optional procedure which also is not covered in any insurance and when we asked for sending that in email so that we can check with insurance, then only they confirmed the specific procedure(Gentlewave) is optional and luckily we saved from that. I still think they could have properly assessed the condition well before when they had taken the CTscan and Xray itself and properly advised us to extract it instead of intentionally doing all expensive treatment on an unrepairable tooth. This is either because they are incompetent or part of a strategy. Truly a compassionate professional place. I was in a great deal of pain and everyone was calm and welcoming. The facility is state of the art as well. Here is the best part. The doctor called me the next day to ask how I was. She is truest an old school professional. I had an infection to take care of and two root canals. While I hope I need no more, I will come back here if I do. I had light sensitivity and they had shaded glasses for me. The chairs have massage ability and many more pleasant surprises. I paid around 300$ +insurance for consultation only which I already knew before going to this office since I was in acute pain after temporary crown ! Toot canal was the only way ... the staff and the Dr baharani both were equally rude even when I was in tears at their office since I was in acute pain ! You would have trust issues with this Dr... I didn't go for this office even after consultation fees of 400+ something simply because I couldn't really place my trust on such money minded people! Only god knows if they started my treatment they could keep adding more surprises! I was told that I have been prescribed steroids that will bring me in my right mind before they could root canal! Dr Bahrahni, and her office manager Denise are some of the most unscrupulous individuals to deal with. First of all I went to her as a referral. I tried to get a pre-authorization for my insurance but was unable. I was given a preliminary EOB of the charges and what the insurance company should cover. I went in for what I thought was a root canal. There is a procedure called a CBCT- Endo that cost $356 which was a 360° image of my mouth and was COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY! In fact, the doctor received my x-rays which clearly showed the need for the root canal. So why did I need that procedure? My guess is pure profit margin. The next scam was being charged $147 for a consultation. The consultation consisted of me being told by Dr Bahrani that she was performing a root canal on me, same day, 5 min conversation at best! The last piece of work was she went in for the root canal and was saw there was an infection on the floor of the tooth and the root canal could no longer be completed. So the bottom line is I was charged $808 for a procedure that was never completed. I would let anyone know that was to use Dr. Bahrani to make sure that they have a written pre-authorization and know EXACTLY what their insurance provider will cover. I wish dr. Bahrani was my dentist! Heck even my doctor!! She made my attempt at a root canal comfortable. I was having horrible anxiety from the time i walked in the door. She made sure to explain everything she was going to do before she did it. We could not do the root canal because my tooth/nerve would not get numb. So we had to stop and reschedule. I felt faint/dizzy and she provided some orange juice and just let me take my time instead of rushing me out the door. I dread goin back to get a root canal. But i am glad she is the one doing the procedure!. She is patient and understanding and is definitely caring of her patients.....Her staff was awesome as well! Can't say enough about this doctor.. Spectacular! Was honest and caring and personally called my normal dentist to go over what she found. So easy to talk to and understand! She easily could have just done a root canal, and even gotten me to do another one (had second tooth w issues). Instead, she had integrity and has come up w a good plan with my dentist to hold off for now and see what happens as she wasn't 100% convinced that a root canal would fix my issue. First I want to say Dr. Bahrani did excellent work and I have no issue with that. However, beware of the upsell. I needed root canal therapy for a re infected tooth. I did the Gentle Wave, an upsell, which cost $250 out of my pocket. I was warned about it. Then there was the Cone Beam CT. This is an upsell. Although my insurance denied it, they said the negotiated rate was $182 but the dentist's office said no, since its denied we don't need to follow that according to Illinois law. They charged me $275. Then there was an unspecified procedure for $25, maybe Covid stuff? Just another way to make up the difference with the negotiated insurance rates on the normal stuff. Bottom line is always ask " is this covered by my insurance". I will learn from this mistake for sure. Once again let me state that the work done by Dr. Bahrani is excellent, just not happy with the extra, not covered gotcha's. I called my insurance beforehand to verify she was in network and figured I was good. Also, they required full payment of my estimated portion at the time of service. read more

Office is very clean sute, and located in convinience location, medical personal was very friendly, and most important, the doctor is very professional and kind woman. In fact she saved us time and money by doing whole surgery in one appointment. In the end, we got follow up medicine and even little present.
