But what breaks my heart is how unpleasant and unkind the staff has become. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but the woman who's been answering the phone lately is consistently rude, cold, and dismissive. It's exhausting and upsetting, especially when all I'm trying to do is make sure my child is taken care of. No parent should feel anxious or frustrated just trying to schedule an appointment. Every time I call or walk into the office, I brace myself for an unpleasant interaction--and that shouldn't be the case at a place that's supposed to provide care and compassion. I want to stay with this office because of Dr. Z, but the way the staff treats patients makes it hard to keep coming back. Please do better--for the sake of the families who trust you with their children.

Reminds me a lot of my pediatrician when I was a kid. Which was my benchmark for all doctors after that. So very good. She was not warm or kind with my kids and they hated their experience. We avoided seeing her after that, but my son had an earache and she was the only one available, so I figured we could deal just long enough for her to look in his ear. She scolded him for wearing a winter coat and not a rain coat (even though it wasn't raining)! She told me kids his age don't get ear infections and a week later I had to take him to the ER for a perforated ear drum! My son is now traumatized about his ears. She also parent shames any chance she can get. No flu shot, bad parent. Pacifier, bad parent. NOT someone who should be practicing PEDS!!!

We've always gone to an excellent pediatrician in Davis but decided to try one out here since…read moremoving to Vacaville. I called & made an appt for one of my boys to get their 12-month shots, they had a same day one available for late afternoon. Upon arriving they had a tv in the waiting room but it was stuck on the main menu of a Disney DVD. We were called back promptly & did the pre-dr things. I had both of my sons with me, so it was a bit chaotic. Dr. Randle arrived & gave me her opinion that my 15m son was too old to be drinking out of a bottle. Uh, okay, that's not what I'm here for but I guess that's fine. My sons have both been on a delayed vaccine time table, I'm more comfortable with that & it works for our family. Dr. Randle saw that & said we should do an extra shot today to get him caught up. I declined. I asked if they administer shots simultaneously (like Sutter Davis does, based on studies that it's less traumatic for the child) & she scoffed & said no, but assured me her assistant is 'awesome'. Finished the exam & the assistant was to come back in to give the shots. Dr. Randle asked again about the extra shot, I said no thanks. Her attitude the whole time was very condescending. Waiting for the assistant to come in, the boys are tired & ready to leave. The dr comes in again & asks about the extra shot, I just say 'fine', I want to leave. The assistant comes in & slowly, painfully, administers each shot one at a time while I pin my son down & he's screaming. The assistant was not awesome, she had no empathy for my son's pain & seemed very apathetic about it all. It was horrible. We will not be back. Also: My youngest needed a diaper change while we were there & I hadn't planned on going to the dr that day so I wasn't prepared. I asked them if they had any extra diapers & they said no & acted like it was a huge inconvenience. They eventually found a large pull up & let me have that. Davis normally gives a book at well child visits, my kids love books, so I asked about that. Dr. Randle was very weird about it & said we were lucky they had books & begrudgingly gave me one after I asked five different times. Awful! We will be making the drive to Davis.
