We have been using BrightStar now for about 6 months for the care of my Father. We chose them under the recommendation of a friend of ours. We are completely happy with the service they have been giving him. I live in Georgia and when we needed help with my Dad, I was a little apprehensive as to who we could trust from such a distance. The past few months have been great! Leslie stops in each week to see my Dad. She checks on his meds and several other issue we have. I try to visit quarterly to WI and when I get there, she always has a journal that she leaves so I can see what has happened each time she is there. I have also left her notes through this journal. They have given me a great deal of peace of mind in the care of him. They also called me directly on one occasion to let me know of an issue that need taking care of quickly. When my brothers and I first realized my mother's situation and that she was in need of care, we weren't sure where to turn. None of us live in mom's hometown, which made finding a caregiver even more complicated. Fortunately, we were given a referral to Bright Star. Our main concerns being professionalism and trust-worthiness, Bright Star put these to rest. It was very easy to set up schedules, and just as easy to adjust when necessary. At times, though not often, mom's worsening mental condition would cause her to be unkind to the caregiver. Overall, the individual caregivers were very professional and knowledgeable at handling some uneasy situations. Excellent service for in home and transportation needs of my mother. Vetted all similar companies and BrightStar was the best. Having an RN on staff, that is excellent in attending to the medical issues and communicating with all my mother's health care practitioners, is invaluable, which the other companies, do not offer. The care staff assigned to my mom, provide companionship, travel and help her with all activities of daily living. Great company and service. They were the only ones who were willing to work with us a little "outside the box" and provide the services we needed for our son. He is now getting exactly the right support. They know us by name and are always quick to respond. I highly recommend them for any home care. The BrightStar staff were always very helpful, and the caretakers were good company for my mom a few afternoons a week. When possible, they were willing to take her on drives, out for ice cream, would help with her laundry, or just sit and visit with her. All of the staff is very caring and considerate! read more
