This was his first time being in a childcare setting and I wanted to make sure that not only did I trust that he would be cared for, but he would also be taught the fundamentals to give him a solid foundation in education. We were able to get it all at this school. My then 3 year old is now 5 and about to graduate from Kindergarten where he received one-on-one teaching and attention, which was tailored to where he is intellectually and emotionally. Now my 2 year old is there and making leaps and bounds developmentally with their curriculum and support. I will forever recommend this school, because they allow for the parents to also reinforce the strengths and improve on the student's weaknesses via homework, progress reports, and frequent updates.

After graduating and moving into a first grade class at a Chery Creek Elementary school, we were told she needed to repeat kindergarten. Being first time parents, we didn't know what skills she was supposed to learn. Considering our child spent three years at this "school", we expected she would be advanced, when in reality, she didn't even meet grade standard. We had to spend extra time and money for a year to bring our child up to grade level so the school wouldn't hold her back. She didn't even learn the sounds of the alphabet after three years here! Once we knew she was suppose to have this skill by first grade, we taught her the sounds of the alphabet in two weeks. Still, her reading was behind the other kids and it took a full year to catch her up. After attending a graduation ceremony, we felt it would be detrimental to her self esteem if we held her back. When I told the owner, Lori and Director, Shawn, they didn't believe me. They said kids don't always show their parents what they really know. I had to demand they test her and when the owner did, she apologized because we were right. She offered to have one of their teachers work with our child, but since they couldn't get the job done in three years, we weren't wasting any more time here. We are involved parents. We attended their 5 day meetings about how Montessori teaches your children. We attended our parent/teacher conferences and when I voiced some concern over our child not being able to write her name, the teacher told me to "keep working with her". I wonder if the parents who are happy with this place are teaching their kids at home and it's not the "school" doing the teaching. After doing much research, we learned that this "school' typically didn't have the staff required by law for the number of students per adult. In addition, they clearly don't monitor the kids skill level. The education varies from class to class. Some kids are sent home with books to read, others are not. We now realize some of the "work" they gave us which we were told our child did, the teacher actually did. In particular, there was a map of North America which obviously wasn't done by our child. I found the owner, Lori and the Director, Shawn, to be unprofessional and rude (especially the owner Lori). The employees seem unhappy if you get to know them. This is more of a daycare than a school. I do not recommend sending any child here if you want them to learn the skills needed to be successful in the local public schools. They gave a good sales pitch, but they don't live up to it. I noticed Yelp removed the other poor reviews. I wonder if they'll keep ours up, which is true and we have receipts proving our child attended this "school". I called to get her in for tutoring here in February. She had a lot of catching up to do to understand the material in a short period of time. She gained confidence and a much better understanding of the material. Despite her teacher's horrible exams and lack of assistance, she pulled out the second semester with a C+ and then took semester one in summer school and received a B. No more D on her transcript. She is in week one of geometry and after tutoring this evening literally said "I feel so good, I am totally understanding this stuff and I hate math." Both of our kids were tutored by different instructors at Moser and both had a GREAT experience. Scott asked a lot of questions about each student to understand their disposition, the way they learn, how much pushing they needed to study, etc. They were matched with very different instructors and both were patient, respectful, and clear in their teaching. Going into the college prep season with our older student, we were all a bunch of nerves. However, during the tutoring process, we collectively relaxed because our son became confident in his abilities to take the tests effectively. Both of our kids' scores were impressive, much higher than before the tutoring. As it turned out, they both did receive merit scholarships at their desired universities. Even if they had not, I think the confidence it gave each of them was well worth the price.

On a good day the horrid ceilings look like espetus. The weird array of lunch food. Yes, I used to eat just French fries for lunch. I also learned in the cafeteria why you don't put aluminum foil in the microwave! I went to this school when the only housing around was the southern most tip of the South Pinery. There wasn't the Mormon church or even the amazing Carl's Jr just a mile away. We were in the middle of NOTHING. I loved almost every teacher I had. The theater and band were quite good and well renown in the area. Same for the football team. Granted it has been almost nine years since my graduation, but my heart is still filled with Mustang pride! I'll miss sneaking outside of the second floor door to have a smoke...or having the worst Chemistry class experience ever. I miss you Ponderosa, and yet... I don't at all.

(Only the five star reviews were listed on Niche.com which makes me wonder what other reviews are not included on their website.) My son has attended Aspen Academy from kindergarten, now in fourth grade. If you want a full on business and leadership program for your child, then the school is well designed. Our son is cognitively gifted and grasps math concepts quickly. Aspen Academy does not offer acceleration, nor true differentiation in the classroom. You would be better off at a good neighborhood public school. Their culture of kindness is great. Aspen Academy changes their curriculum every 3 years, so as a parent you'll need to be on top of what your kid is learning. For Conservative Christians, be on guard, because the curriculum chosen for literature and social studies in 2025, has teachings from Buddhism and Hinduism. Very controversial content to be aware of, including some pieces being read from books that have some racist content. We were promised the 'racist portions' would not be read to our son. There are some teachers and staff we love there, who we wish all the best. May God bless them!
