I got married in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida which neither myself nor my husband were familar (nor Tom) - we felt overwhelmed but Tom didn't. Tom and his team quickly discovered the best of the best vendors that fit our vision. Tom built great working relationship with these folks - so much so that my wedding florist and Tom keep in touch, she loved working with him. We knew not to worry because we've seen Tom in action. He had already planned my bridal shower in Chicago, my sister's baby shower in Miami and children's christenings in Jacksonville. The budgets ranged from low to high on all these events and each time Tom overdelivered. He's simply amazing. Just like everyone says, he's the first to arrive and the very last leave. This surprised us and won us over because when interviewing other planners we discovered most planners leave after the main course is served. Tom also did my hair, my maid of honor's hair and my flower girl's hair too. We searched high and low and after 5 practice runs we had no luck. Tom stepped in and my hair was amazing. Tom also designed my custom wedding gown along with making my headpiece and veils (I wanted something specific and I couldn't find it anywhere). Looking back now, I have to say that this (hiring Manikas Designs) was the BEST decision I made and subsequently allowed every encounter with every vendor after hiring Tom to run smoothly due to his professionalism, vision and attention to detail. Tom is not just an event planner but an interior designer which allows him to create amazing spaces which will transport your guests to the event of your dreams. I cannot begin to praise Manikas Designs for everything they did for me. From helping me pick out from the smallest to the biggest details with absolute patience, to making my family feel comfortable, to choosing the right shade of white for my husbands tie, and to even sewing up my dress at the end of the night. We would have had them do our Barovier & Toso chandelier as well but it would have required disassembly to gain access to the Murano glass arm enclosures. Given the time constraints of our move we kept it intact to ship to Arizona. We hope Anne can visit the chandelier in its new location and do a cleaning! They were obsessively detail oriented with both the cleaning and some service logistics to assist our move. We extended this recommendation to our concierge and other Draper and Kramer managed buildings as well. This past spring, I happened to come across Brick Logik's page on Yelp which brought me to their website and I was very impressed with what I saw. There was a link that allowed me to film a quick video on my phone about my project and upload it. Within 15 minutes, I got a call from Clay at Brick Logik. Clay was the first person I talked to that genuinely seemed as excited about my project as I was. He spent a good 45 minutes with me on the phone that night talking thru options with no commitment at all on my end and wasn't pushy at all. That's when I knew I wanted to work with Clay and Brick Logik. After a lot of conversations and listening to my vision, Clay brought it to life and presented me several 3D renderings of his designs and brought my vision to life. We loved it! We ended up redoing a 2 level patio, put in a L shaped outdoor kitchen with grill, refrigerator, and bar. Added a gas fire pit and on top of it all, Clay was willing to work with me and install a custom fiberglass pergola from another vendor and helped coordinate that piece of the project. Clay and his team also added lots of accent lights throughout the kitchen and steps to really make it pop at night and helped with the outdoor entertainment system and electrical work. The Brick Logik installation team was also a pleasure to work with. Always very pleasant, cleaned up really good at the end of each day and always wanted to make sure than we were 100% happy with everything. To me, when picking a vendor to work on a big project with, finding a company that is great with communication/responsiveness and focused on quality work and making their client happy is what is most important to me. I never had an issue getting a hold of Clay or not getting a response back within a reasonable time frame. With that said, I can't recommend Clay and Brick Logik enough. They were truly a pleasure to work with. I had high expectations and I'm sure was one of their more demanding clients, but they didn't let me down. This is not the contractor you want. Please read before hiring. We hired Kelly-Rose / KO Electric to help finish 2 rooms, and some exterior work. She was issued a check for the down payment to start work, as requested, which she of course cashed. They showed up 45 minutes late day one to start work, and late every day after. The work started Monday, and was supposed to be finished by Friday. It's now Friday and they are still a minimum of 2 days from completion on the interior work, let alone never starting the exterior work. They worked about 3 hours each day on Wednesday and Thursday. It has been raining, so I understand the exterior, but the interior is not acceptable. Wednesday and Thursday they worked approximately 3 hours a day, which I have proof of on my camera system. She will text you at inappropriate hours of the night, and apparently get you involved with her not paying her employees/contractors, warning you to call the police if her employees show up drunk at your home after midnight, as seen in screenshots (how fun!) The material list (from Kelly-Rose) was constantly wrong requiring me to go to HD/Menards every day of the project for more forgotten materials, and now to return unneeded or excess materials. The job was not estimated accurately, plain and simple. We opted to buy materials as we had around 1/3 of it purchased previously, but would have never expected to have to do so many trips. I was constantly lending my own tools to give a hand to the contractors we hired to do the work, which is just not normal, or professional. You would expect contractors to have everything they need to do the job. She suggests that all of the poorly cut pine trim which meets tongue & groove wood paneling just needs a little plaster to fill the 1/2" to 3/4" overhanging edges (pictured). Clearly plaster is not wood, and large ramped up corners of plaster is not acceptable, nor would it ever match the look of wood paneling, let alone look acceptable. Last but not least, she leaves a large contractor bag of all of the construction garbage in our driveway when she picked up her tools (pictured). Do yourself a favor and check references before hiring someone like this. This was a circus.
