I would have loved to be a regular patient, but their prices are quite high. High, but worth it if it gets the job done. Sadly, it was beyond my financial reach. So, when I recently had some serious tightness with quite a bit of debilitating pain, I called to make another appointment. I got the machine, no surprise, perhaps they were with another patient. But it did take 2 days to get a return call. And because they are apparently so busy, it was a month before they had an opening for me. I began seeing a chiropractor to ease the pain, and looked forward to the scheduled massage. While on the phone, I checked my calendar and confirmed the date/time, setting a reminder so I would not miss it. That whole month, I scheduled other appointments around the massage. I arrived on time that morning, feeling better but very much looking forward to the pampering and relief I knew I would receive. But no one was there. Door was locked, lights were out. The lady in the next door office offered to let me wait, but I immediately called and got the answering machine. Left a message, asked if somehow I had gotten the date/time wrong (though I know I verified and was correct). I waited outside another 15 minutes, but it was raining, so I left. Sent a message on their Facebook page as well, which hasn't been seen yet, over 24 hours later. Also over 24 hours later and I haven't gotten a call back, and when I called again hoping to speak to someone to reschedule, got the machine again. Guess I won't reschedule. I know things happen, maybe they couldn't make it. But a call or cancelation would be nice, or a callback to apologize would go a long way too. At this point, I will find a less expensive and more customer service friendly location to get my relaxation.

I grew up in near poverty in the 70s before fluoridated water programs were widespread. As an adult with a near 20-year history of Lupus, I wanted those toxic-waste fillings OUT of my mouth. I received an unexpected amount of money that had been just sitting in the TX state treasury, and decided to use it for their removal. The gift of health! It has been 7 years since that procedure and my current dentist says my dental work was exquisitely done as observed via X-rays and inspection, and continues to serve me very, very well. I paid extra to get a special test at the time, so that my new replacement filling material was biologically compatible and affordable. I keep that very detailed test data to this day, for it contains info. about my bio. compatibility to the medical materials used in the making of other medical equipment/ prosthetics, e.g., hip and knee replacements, etc. At least, it will be a starting point to avoid possible rejection or allergic reaction. Thank you for your holistic dentistry expertise, precision, and professionalism, Dr. Devening. In our case, we were looking for a facility that had; 1) Private room 2) Didn't feel institutionalized 3) Peaceful & Quiet 4) Located in Rockbridge County Havenwood met all of our needs. We have experience with almost every other facility in Rockbridge County and Havenwood is by far the most peaceful without the hustle/bustle of the larger facilities with multiple in-house programs. Havenwood also has a relaxed "home" feeling. Havenwood was exactly what we needed as there was a deep desire to not be poked/prodded and to be left alone. Havenwood staff checks-in often but makes conscious efforts to be as least intrusive as possible. I gave Havenwood a four start review because I am comparing the facility against other facilities that we've had experiences with. While there are no issues with the facility, it is not on par with other 5-star facilities outside of the county in Botetourt & Roanoke. The room & board is much lower than those facilities as well. Havenwood was exactly what we sought and has met our needs. Private, quite, no frills, no drama, and reasonably priced.

The front porch has rocking chairs that allow a great view of the scenery. The place isn't fancy but it is clean and comfy. Occupancy allows 45 people (there are 19 residents at the moment). The social and dining area are near the front entrance. Residents can watch television together in the front "living room" area. The bathroom is spacious. A wardrobe "closet" was in the room, as well as a regular closet & dresser. My family member did not want a tv in the room. The staff is nice. A chaplain visited while we were in the room. There are also volunteers who visit the facility when patients want company. My family member is in the hospice program.
