Nosal & Jeter

Nosal & Jeter

I have known Thomas Jeter for many years now. He has done personal estate planning as well as some…read morecorporate work for me personally. He and his firm are my go to referral for all Estate Planing and Business Planning needs that my clients as well as family need. I have been highly satisfied and his work is done at a fair price.

I live in NC but work in SC so was hoping to find an estate planning lawyer to help me write my…read morewill in NC and be located as close to work as possible so I didn't have to miss too much work to keep any appointments. I couldn't believe my luck to find Mr. Jeter who has an office in Fort Mill, SC and is also licensed to practice in NC! The first session was free as promised. I felt Mr. Jeter was engaged in the interaction and very interested in what I was looking to get out of the process. I decided to move forward with the estate planning package (my first in this state) and Mr. Jeter continued to be a pleasure to work with. He gave me great advice on what the consequences of some of my wishes would turn out to be like if written exactly as I was originally thinking, and how we could turn them into more appropriate documents to support the intent of what I was hoping to achieve with my estate. I was very involved and very detail-oriented in the process, and he was very accommodating with my questions and concerns and made any necessary changes until the package was better than I originally expected. There were legal documents I wasn't even aware of from my previous lawyer and I appreciated that he included them in the package to be sure my wishes, and personal and financial welfare and property, are protected by the available law (whether I'm incapacitated or passed). Mr. Jeter's office was on top of executing the documents, arranging our appointments, and very hospitable and pleasant. Given all the documents and work that went into my package, I also felt that the fee Mr. Jeter quoted in the beginning was reasonable and fair. I'm grateful to have found Mr. Jeter and would recommend him to anyone who needs to do estate planning in NC or SC.

Knipp Law Office

Knipp Law Office

Worst experience I could have conceivably had closing on a house as sellers with Knipp Law. We were…read morescheduled to close on the house we were purchasing at the same time and day as the closing of the selling of our home, so we had our own attorneys prepare the paperwork sent to them by Knipp and overnight the paperwork to them after we signed all the documents, along with emailing Knipp a copy of our closing attorneys wire transfer instructions. After signing all the paperwork for the closing of the home we were purchasing, we waited for Knipp to file the sale with the register of deeds so they could wire the proceeds from our sale to our closing attorneys. 2 hours after closing, we received an email from our attorneys stating that Knipp had just sent them a document for us to sign that they had forgotten to include in the original package. We signed electronically and our attorneys sent the document back to Knipp. An hour later, still no word that the wire transfer had gone through. We decided to call Knipp ourselves to see what the filing status was on the sale of our house. The paralegal handling our case told us that it had been filed with the register of deeds and they were awaiting confirmation that the deed had been recorded. Knipp also informed us that they were awaiting the wiring instructions for the proceed of our sale. When I reminded the paralegal that we had sent the wiring instructions several days ago, she told me that wiring instructions sent through email were not accepted, and needed to be sent through a secure messaging platform. Neither my wife and I, nor our attorneys had been informed of this; for some reason Knipp did not seem to think it was important to let us know that a specific method of communicating wiring instructions was necessary after we had sent them those instructions over email. After sending the wiring instructions, we waited for about 15-30 more minutes before my wife thought to call the Register of Deeds to see if Knipp had filed everything correctly, as we didn't have much faith in them at this point. Upon speaking with someone in the Register of Deeds, my wife discovered that not only had the sale not been recorded, it was not even showing up in their system. The sale thankfully popped up as my wife was on the phone with the Register of Deeds. Not sure why Knipp seemingly chose to lie to us about the state of our filing, nor keep us waiting around for THREE HOURS after our closing. Comically poor communication and clear indifference as to whether my wife and I were inconvenienced. Wish I could give 0 stars. Avoid Knipp Law like the plague.

Ignorance shouldn't be tolerated by an attorney. They refused to return phone calls and still haven't produced our documents. Why pay for someone to lose legally binding documents, which is the only reason Knipp was hired in the first place?
